- The Super Mario series has A TON of powerups/items but some are definitely better than others! In this list, PJ ranks all of them!

This ranking was incredibly odd. I disagree with nearly every ranking but something I find particularly confusing is the fact that the weird mushroom does everything the normal mushroom can, but makes you jump higher. This is definitely a list rather then a ranking

He also put the Super Leaf above the Cape Feather? Like bruh, the feather can let you fly infinitely with good timing, and you can dive-bomb the ground to clear enemies.

The Gold Flower is literally a more powerful version of the Fire Flower, how can you rank it so much worse? Coins aside, you can defeat literally anything with it in one hit! NSMB2 gets way too much hate in general
I think it is fair to criticise the game. Other than the coin gimmick, it has nothing going for it
True but there are some super cool levels that aren’t coin related, maybe I’m bias but nsmb2 is over-hated

It's a better fire flower, but it's rare IIRC
I hate the fact that you ranked the SMB2 mushroom so low because it's "A sad reminder the game exists." The power-up is so useful because you can stand on enemies, pick up enemies, the mushroom jumps at night, and is a great power-up to have in general.

i think that the ranking is meant to be more subjective, super mushroom is just more iconic
They are based on just his feelings, not how good they are.
@@shdow5908 If that were the case then both the Super Crown and the Boomerang Flower should have been lower placed meanwhile the Costume Mushroom should have been higher placed.

The super leaf and tanooki suit are separate power ups. Difference being the tanooki suit can grant invincibility and crush enemies which wasn’t mentioned.
The gold flower is the equivalent of the star, it instantly kills enemies within a RADIUS OF DISTANCE (basically any enemies nearby) and it makes almost everything coins! Not trying to sound nerdy but it’s true lol

Cape feather lets you fly INFINITELY.
Imagine if Mario and Luigi used the double cherry in the final battle of the movie to confuse the enemies

The power-up I have the most fun using is the mini mushroom, it's so satisfying and the movement is soo incredibly nice.
The propeller mushsoom is my favorite mario powerup. It was sooo useful in Mario Bros and it's definitely the most balanced flying power up in all of Mario 😊

But if you want to refer to all of the games in general, you should say Super Mario, or Super Mario Bros. But never just Mario Bros. (Yes I know I’m a nerd)

Besides the statue effect of the Tanuki suit, I always found the cape better. Its attacks were faster, and the game it featured in felt more comfortable to get up to max speed in. I also found it far more comfy to use as you just had to hold the jump button, rather than rapidly tap it to slow your fall. Video got them mixed up. It's not the Tanuki suit singing "Anything you can do I can do better", it's the cape.
Actually... I like the worst powerups, they are my favorite. And the fire flower, feels pretty original. I like the worst powerups, they're pretty unique

You forgot to mention the ice flower from Galaxy 1 because although it's the same booking power up as new Super Mario Brothers Wii Ashley transforms Mario into ice Annie can walk on lava

how did you decide the ranking? i feal like you complained a lot for some in like the 20s, but for some in the 50s you praised them more but ranked them lower. why?
The Cape Feather is by far my favorite power up. You can fly forever. And has a way better spin attack then the Tanooki suit. Idk how anybody could rank the Tanooki suit over the Cape feather.

Forgot the Penguin suit personally it’s my favorite power-up too since you can swim faster dealing with annoying water levels and belly sliding making going down hills more enjoyable

The Super Acorn does *not* have the same mechanic as the Cape Feather. Cape Feather is much better as it actually allows you to get more verticality. This is definitely a list rather than a ranking.

That’s not a power-up because poison mushrooms can kill Mario or Luigi.
Did you know that the P-Balloon isn’t even a power-up? An article posted by Retro Game Mechanics Explained shows how the P-Balloon is actually a held item instead of a power-up.

The P-Wing in Smb 3d literally defeated the level how is it not first place? And The golden Tanuki suit made you invulnerable and gives you one the benefit of the normal suit!

The best power up for Yoshi isn't any of the fruits, its actually Yoshi's Infinite Flutter glitch. Yoshi is absolutely broken in that game.

for me the best powerup is golden flower/tanooki suit 2nd is penguin powerup thingy lol 3rd is hammer powerup and 4th is the green shell from super mario 3d world 5th is of course another shell but this times blue and from a diffrent game

The Goomba Mask actually only fooled Goombas (and those searchlights in the Bullet Bill level). Other enemies can see right through the disguise! 😬😬😬

Wait, so the point of contention that the Tanooki Leaf is a better flying powerup than the Cape Feather, is that the Tanooki suit can attack enemies with the tailwhip..... but the Cape can attack with a cape spin so, functionally, it's still exactly the same, based off this logic. Im confused on this conclusion lol
I agree. Plus you can fly 2 styles with the super feather. One of which effortlessly hit enemies coming your way while spinning up Super high.

Imo the penguin suit should've been in the top 5. It has so many benefits like you could freeze enemies, slide on land and water, walk on ice without slipping, and swim smoothly without having to mash the jump button. I'm sad it never reappeared in the other games.
The best ones are the propeller definitely, the penguin (the penguin toad is so cute) and of course the cloud flower!!
When Nintendo was making the boo mushroom, they prbably went through several designs until saying "screw it, put a boo face on a blank mushroom and send it to the files"
NSMBW was the first video game i had ever played. The propeller suit was in the first level and it carried me through the entire game. That us why i would put propeller suit at number 1. They need to brung that powerup back

Nintendo missed an opportunity by not putting in the ice flower in Mario Maker 1 or 2. If there is going to be a Mario Maker 3, I hope to see the ice flower make an appearance.

I don’t get how you have the ice flower so high but you have some of the better power ups from Galaxy 1 & 2 ranked much lower.
You confuse the tanuki suit with the leaf. The leaf only gives mario a tail and ears and the ability to fly. The tanuki suit gives him the full suit and the ability to turn into a statue. Which is exactly the same as the statue leaffrom 3D land.

All people care about nowadays is sh*tting on the poor spring mushroom. It’s not as horrendous as people dramatize, and the levels that utilize it do it well

Propeller Mushroom over the Acorn is a felony
In my opinion, the Cape Feather is the best powerup for Mario, it ables to fly or plane. Although the Tanooki Leaf can fly, but can attack enemies, the cape feather is the best of all, and it can use it for other things. It's pretty fun and great.⚡💚⚡💚⚡💚

mini mushroom isn't the worst power-up, most people did that its the worst power-up but you're wrong its the best power-up except you get hit from one shot, you can run on water, climb, and glide.

POV: Ranking every other power up lower than the mushroom when the mushroom is one of the weakest.
Ok, why is super mushroom higher than the other mushroom? Literally any mushroom (except tiny mushroom) do what the super mushroom do and even more.

Propeller mushroom
I can't tell if this a power ranking or a fun ranking, because the star is the highest because it's the "best" power up, but the weird mushroom is last despite it being better than the super mushroom. The weirdest choice, in my opinion, is the spiny shellmet. It's super fun & pretty overpowered, but this guy says that the vanilla mushroom is better despite having so many limitations, like not breaking hard block or being not being protected if something falls on you.
I think the weird mushroom should instead give the user stretchy powers, without looking creepy.

The effect at the beginning made me cry by the sound. If i find a castle deck with that sound, and it's remixeable, i will be enraged and remove that annoying blueprint
This is a very well thought list. I wish you updated it with super Mario wonder power up’s (elephant 🐘, drill 🌀, bubble 🫧 ).
