I began the habit of keeping a mindset journal during lockdown last year. Each morning i write down: how I slept, how I feel, the things in my life for which I’m grateful, three things to bring me joy this day…I leave a space for my evening reflection: three good moments from the day.
I love this!! It’s so true what you said about exercising. You gotta find what works for you and your body. And not feel “guilty” since a certain workout doesn’t work out for you. And yes, you’re right, consistency is the key to success!
My goodness, you covered so much ground in this video, and every element makes perfect sense. One good thing to come out of Covid was being forced to slow down, reassess and prioritise what’s important in life. I really admire how you live with intention and simplicity. Thanks for sharing your video with those of us who are still working on that. 💚🌺
I like decluttering. When I get anxious or overwhelmed, it's nice to review the physical stuff I've accumulated and evaluate if I still want it on my metaphorical back. Using a month-box is a good first step sometimes. Things you're not sure about go in the box and after a month you evaluate if you used them or wanted them or even remember whats in the box. There's no pressure to get rid of anything so its just a nice way to test ideas.
Thank you for continuing your efforts. As a blind person, minimalism and slow living came to me in pieces. This philosophy has saved me. It is part of my Buddhist nature and is in line with my quest to be healthy living.
Finding an exercise that works for me and my body has been life changing!!! 15 minute stretching exercises daily have been what my body needs. It is just right and also makes me feel great.
Hello Sophie You bring me calm, strength, positivity, friendliness....i totally agree with your tips and advice to stay healthy. I practise the same routine. Thank you for sharing. I wish you the best.
I have a job that, due to COVID, has kept me in my home office in a chair all day, reviewing products. It's grueling, to put it mildly. Everything you're discussing here makes perfect sense and either has helped (exercise, reduce screen time that has increased due to not having coworkers to chat with, clutter free environment (thanks for your help with that)) or will help in the future (I need to dial down the fast food and get a pet--houseplants don't cut it).
you are happy to have a job like that. i have the same full lifetime schedule at my job just like prior of this covi thing. i have just 3 free hours a day when i must eat, shower clean and prepare for another day in the full time job. in weekends i am so tired, i sleep all day long and the cycle repeats and i am too old to change jobs.
@@globalmuffin2 Brutal. When I was commuting I had basically the same schedule. I've found I can do my job from home and I'm going to push to keep it that way. I don't know what your job is but maybe you could push for working from home? I save about 3 hours a day by avoiding a commute.
Wonderful video!! So true about the the exersize!!! Actually what you said about the exersize is absolutely precious. So many people overthink it. I for example just walk...walk...walk.. because this is what I like....and I am still as strong as ever approaching my 60th.

I also find your videos help me get into a zen mode and allows me to unplug not only with electronics, but unplug mentally. Your videos are so soothing and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your peaceful life with us.Blessings
I do like morning yoga to start my day with, and before sleeping I listen to Qur'an, it's a such soothing and calming thing💛 I'm working on phone time, it's very difficult though..
I drink a large glass of room temperature water right after waking up. Then I brush my teeth and clean my tongue. I usually won't consume anything else but water for a few hours after waking up. This helps me focus as I dont take in any sugars that would make me crave for more soon after. Sometimes I cheat and have a coffee with milk before heading out to work. Thanks for the insights you shared.
Aloha Sophie! Thank you so much for another HONEST video. My girlfriend and I turn off our phones and lap tops by 10pm every evening. Your video was just what I needed today...to remind me to slow down and also make more time for taking care of myself. I like to cook and exercise by walks--I may do more stretching now. Thank you for your beautiful calming voice and message I look forward to your new videos. God Bless.
I'm in my premenopause age so it seemed as if nothing was working for my weight and sluggish feeling. I don't like gyms, but I do enjoy walking so I'd walk A LOT, but was still not losing weight. I started learning more about the metabolism and added rebounding (trampoline) to my exercise, I added juicing organic greens and intermittent fasting, lower carb intake (and carbs I do intake are healthier, like whole grains) and I've finally started seeing a noticeable difference, especially in my clothes and energy levels. I agree we each have to find what works best for our bodies as no two bodies are the same :)
Your videos are always so beautiful! Definitely agree with finding an exercise that works for you - I love taking dance classes and workshops! Focusing less on material possessions and more on experiences, and getting joy from the possessions I do have, both have been so helpful for me. And *yes, yes, yes* to batch cooking - oh my gosh, this is a lifesaver for me in terms of helping me eat healthy! I'm not a big fan of cooking, but too much takeout just doesn't feel good to my body, so batch cooking several days worth of clean meals in one go makes things so much easier. In general, I love just going out for mindful walks, going to a local wooded park, or just enjoying the flowers on the side of the path or the tree blossoms, focusing on these instead of the hustle of urban suburbia where I live.
I do the same with the excercises. It motivates me to work on my body alone, because I don't want to waste my money in the gym. And there are a lot of inspiring fit channels in RUclips, so why not to use them properly - not only to watch. I wish I could discover so many new, interesting excercises at school, but that time was mainly basketball or valleyball. Then I did squats, because I had to, now I do it, because I want.
Hello sophie, thank you for todays video I can try all of these .I have my 7 yrs old son with me plus online class and work. your videos helps us a lot. now I have time for my yoga ,exercise and time in each particular things in our daily living.
It's always the simplest things that bring us energy and of course joy. It's funny because the younger me, strived for the opposite. I'm just glad I've "grown up" to appreciate this way of living and being. (:
Thank You so much for what you are sharing. i recently discovered your videos and find them so calming. i resonate with and can relate to so many things you are speaking about and are experiencing. Overthinking, too strict schedules and then not following them through, reminding myself that we are here to BE and not to DO. And mostly i like your voice. really, it is so calming and pleasant to listen to. Keep sharing :) Thank You

Every so often or perhaps for some it is more regular, we are required to adapt. The past 2 years have affected us all and subsequently impacted our lifestyle and habits. We needed to evaluate what actually serves us and evolve. This has been and can certainly be overwhelming however taking some time to explore through trial and error will allow us to find what really works for us. Creating the Discipline takes time and we are human so there will be times where we lose focus which is ok, self-awareness will help us out here, we can bring ourselves back to our path when we stray. Looking after ourselves in a way that truly serves us will lead to greater joy, fulfillment and happiness.

Absolutely, I will never get another gym membership. I get bored very easily, so I do different low impact exercises on a weekly basis.
It's always the simplest things that bring us energy and of course joy. It's funny because the younger me, strived for the opposite. I'm just glad I've "grown up" to appreciate this way of living and being. (:
Exactly what I needed 🙏🏻❤️😭 Thank you so very much!!! I will definitely be applying mostly all of them thank you 😊
