I apreciate all the tips. Now to practice and create the exact timing to get every ounce of energy in the smash. I find there is no other way than hitting many, many times to be relaxed with any badminton shot. Thanks for posting!
Tip nr 3 is the most important key to find the body power i think. But also the timing of the legs going from low to higher before the hit. I think smash is more difficult than clear, because when hitting clear, its natural to arch, and timing of the legs is more natural because you hit the shuttle upwards. In smash you move first upwards like in a clear, but in the end downwards.
The tips are good especially with the arch to hollow + shoulder tilt, but the audio, video and editing quality could be much better. The 2:49 clip should be edited out as bloopers. And maybe you can try recording with a mic on the shirt?
As you think about moving from forehand to backhand to panhandle, the smash grip is in-between forehand and backhand. The thumb isnt all the way out to the side bevel. It is just a little turn out from the forehand to prevent a subtle slice.
