First of all, a warm welcome to Bulgaria! I greatly admire your courage and strength in undertaking such a transition and purchasing a property here. It seems there's an exciting journey ahead with the house. You are truly remarkable! I absolutely love your positive vibes, constantly radiating with smiles, happiness, and enthusiasm. I eagerly anticipate watching more of your videos.

Most Bulgarians would tell you to demolish the building and build a new one, but I absolutely support renovating old houses. Especialy the fact that you will NOT replace the windows, thats a huge win! PVC can get the inside of the house mouldy and humid in winter. With the wooden frames you can kind of solve this problem as the house can "breath" through the wood.
Btw, your channel is great, I admire the fact that you chose to buy a village house in BG and even restore it.
One day I hope I will be able to do the same.
    Cheers❤

Hey, glad you enjoyed it. We always bring out a video per month. Anything more is a little too overwhelming with the project we currently have on. Editing is about 3 hours for every 10 minutes you watch, so we try to be realistic and bring out an episode a month rather than an episode a week 😊.

To pull the ceiling down it took about 3 hours with 2 of us for 1 room. To board it back up you're looking at about a days work with 2 of you for 2 room. I did by myself, so it took me a couple of days. As for the roof, for our specific issues and bearing in mind it was a "patch up" job, it took about 3 to 4 days. Hope this helps 😀 (bare in mind everyone's houses will be different) but hope that gives you a rough idea.

Some info on your Hoover as translated by native Russian: Funny enough, the Hoover name is "Rocket". Top left writing on box says Hoover. Right Bottom says: Dnepropetrovsk Plant named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR. The model is 7M2. The writing top right is the State Union Standard, basically a ISO type number for quality purpose. Great find... Hope it still works or you can get it working. love your journey so far, but i have to ask what is your plan for living in Bulgaria, what about work, what about school for the kids, do you plan on raising a farm or something.... this are the questions that baffle us natives because as we see it , it is pretty steep to live in Bulgaria with a regular income job, not to mention that having the kids go to school in a rural area might be a bit of a setback. i would love it if you hit me up with a reply

Your enthusiasm is really contagious and inspiring.
Our house was partially renovated when we I arrived so the task was less daunting. Nevertheless, the journey has been long.
Sadly, our windows had already been replaced, warmer for winter but not nearly so pretty.
Everyday we give thanks that we did it, our life us 100% better than it was in the UK. I think yours will be too. So many people have dreams that are never fulfilled.
    Take care and enjoy.

@@frombournemouthtobulgaria the double glazing I got was about 7 cm wide all around, I had 9 cm available wood width. So I told them to pull them in to the inside edge. They screwed them in 3 screws per side....I was there and made sure fix was strong. Because the original wood frames were seasoned and within a millimetre straight....it was a very snug fit indeed (a little sanding required but minor) no need for expanding foam because the gap was miniscule I had to use sealant...
