That was just for our time at the resort, but I will say there are so many ways to cut the cost down on both the wedding at the resort as well as when it comes to your dress, makeup & hair and flights! I plan on doing more wedding videos and definitely one where I mention ways to cut costs!!

I didn't choose a package, I actually did it "a la carte" style where I built my own based off of what I wanted. Most of the packages including at least something that I wasn't going to use or that I was going to upgrade (like chairs) anyways so it was the best decision for us!

Yes!! They had travel set up for us and the guests so everyone had a ride from the airport to the resort and then from the resort to the airport, it made it sooo easy
i am booking secrets with the beyond memorable package.. did you have a 3 hour reception? it sounds so short. I am wonder if i can opt out of the 2 hour rehearsal dinner and use those 2 hours towards my reception instead. do you have any advice on this? thank you!
Ah, I'll have to pull up all of my wedding sheets again to make sure I'm giving you the correct numbers and all. And yes! Food was "free" during our entire stay there outside of the wedding. Unfortunately, we did pay for the catering of our wedding reception. I do remember questioning that since it is all-inclusive, but they wouldn't budge.

Unfortunately we didn't bring him! They allow dogs at the resort, but there's a size limit and he exceeded that. Plus we didn't want to put him through any stress with flying so we didn't even really consider it. BUT, I will say that we wish he could've been there and we were so ready to get back home to him. We were in Mexico for 9 days so one of his family members watch him until my in laws got back to their house where they were able to watch him until we got back.

I am having my destination wedding Dec 27 2021- Jan 3rd 2022 in Punta Cana (hopefully if covid calms down) with 60 guests. A bunch of our family couldn't make it and my fiance's parents (my parents died when I was younger, I'm 25 years old now) want us to have a backyard "legal" wedding with the people who can't make it to our actual wedding. My fiance and I were going to go to the courthouse with our immediate family but that is when his parents suggested the backyard wedding. There are about 50 people on the list - cousins, aunts, uncles - and I absolutely hate it. I am trying to be in good spirits because they are paying for it (since they wanted it) and it is really simple. Just a 15 min ceremony with some food, No party. We will have lawn games and some drinks but that is it. Nothing else. But I feel awkward for the guests who are coming to our actual wedding in Punta Cana since they might look at this as an actual wedding ceremony and we do not consider that since we did not want this. Me and my partner think the same as you...our anniversary would be December 30th, our destination wedding date since we consider that our actual marriage day, not the legal marriage, which is at the very end of September this year. No matter what the covid restrictions are, we will get married. We decided to do it a little beforehand since we want to keep this low maintenance and just use his parent's backyard. We live in Canada and need to do it then or else it would be too cold to use the backyard closer to the date. I am keeping an open mind and don't want to be a downer or ungrateful but I wish we got to keep our legal day a little more simple like you! Sounds lovely :)

Great question! It just depended on what room they got and the resort was all-inclusive so they paid for all of their drinks and food upfront. I want to say the minimum was probably $1k per guest included their flights. I can double check with my mom though as I know she'd remember better!

How was the ocean? Beautiful clear blue or seaweedy?
The ocean conditions are generally great in this particular area. Seawood is seasonal but mainly stays south of this area. =)
