I’ve been paying specific focus towards this aspect in my own birth chart (Sun in Taurus 16 degrees square Moon in Leo at 11 degrees), trying to flesh out my understanding of it for years as to exactly what it indicates regarding the self and our parental relationships. I share this aspect in common with my elder sister, who also has a natal Sun-Moon square (Sagittarius Sun squaring Virgo Moon), and what I’ve observed as shared between us is how we either suffered from the fallout and indiscretions of my parents relationship with each other, or else internalized the pain and sharpness and conflict.
I have a younger sister, though-younger than me by nearly four years -who does not share a natal square. Instead, neither of the bodies officially/truly contact each other in her chart.
What I believe this represents, especially considering how she’s seemed to be affected by their relationship as compared to my sister and I as her elder siblings, is that the sun-moon reflects how that relationship is perceived/internalized by us; whether we even consider our parents jointly or relate to them as distinct/separate influences on us.
What we think of their personalities, etc. So, the lack of love and constant conflict my older sister and I witnessed between my parents, we mourned and were beleaguered by - whereas my sister seemed to have just accepted it? And related to them separately and individually, conceptualized them as complete individuals, without that same burden and reflexive guilt or emotional over-involvement in the events of our parents’ relationship. She had more of an emotional/mental distance than we did. I think, so far, at least. 🤷🏾♀️
My ex-husband has Sun in Cancer square Moon in Aries. He was very good at blaming others. Interestingly his younger brother also has Sun square Moon. Their parents definitely were not getting along well but never got into divorce. His dad has passed away. His Mom was passive-aggressive and liked playing the martyr, and his dad was bad tempered.
People with this aspect often end up divorced or separated, I wonder if it was him that asked and filed for divorce. If either the Sun or the Moon are in Cancer or Scorpio there will be extra family drama and trauma.
Sun sq Moon 4 degree orb, Placidus- Moon in 8th Venus in 12th, whole sign -Pluto in 8th, Sun in 12th. 68 yrs old in all that self reflection but still scrolling, browsing. Will watch numerous times as the April 8th eclipse is square my ascendant descendant 2 degree orb. I am definitely difficult to be with and there was a ton of tension in my childhood home. There was lots of tension with my mother and father. My father is very detached from me. He has Aquarius sun stellum. It has helped me understand this by studying Astrology. You’re so right! I have a sun in Scorpio in the 5th house, squaring my moon in Leo in the 2nd house. Tons and tons of violence growing up, my mom also had a moon in Leo and she was the most violent. I find myself always challenging myself, I’ve been having to work on anger for a while now. It’s much better now :)

In any person there is an unbalance between the ida and pingala (masculine and feminine) In every one unless one happens to be sadghuru or another yogi of the highest order.
So do traditional hatha yoga, this will fix it. Man people believing in astrology lack common sense, because u can only interpret how the planetary movements influence u. So u will also miss a lot. Missinterpretation comes automatically.

I have Leo sun square Scorpio moon...my father kicked a whole one time in a door screaming towards my mother why the hell are we still together...they dont have a healthy relationship at all and my mother has narcistic tendencies. My father acts like a doormat but he has underlying anger/rage and he was actually beaten by my grandfather a lot during his childhood. My mother abused me emotionaly and verbaly and there was always a ton of tension in the whole house and living there always felt really rigid and controlled but also detached, really strange. But ive researched a lot and i found about my parents are emotionaly unavailable. They cant help it, they are unable to give what they dont have. Thats why i feel better if i stay away from them. My mother is also a harsh person with a harsh voice and always finding fault with other ppl to feel better about herself. My father is actually also gay or bisexual but still married her anyway. Thats what he told me once but he didnt called himself gay but he is apperently also interessted in the same sex. Idk my family is kinda strange and my forth house is also in aquarius and its empty...i feel happier when im not thinking about them or have to deal with them...i dont hate them but i rather love them from a distance.
Let’s stop saying the moon is needs. The moon can be the comfort zone, comfortability, or your early environment. What was your upbringing like? What needs went unmet? Often when needs go unmet, they get projected out. I’ve been trying to meet my needs but it gets me nowhere.
I can agree that at home, I’m not productive. And I stick to unhealthy habits that get in the way of my future. But the moon is easier, it’s what your used to. The sun seems so unsure.
I sabotage a lot of things and even when working on trauma, again… nowhere. I think a number one key for sun square moon natives is to understand projection.
I actually am in somatic therapy! And in the self examination period of my life. But I keep wanting to go back to comfort. The trauma from unmet needs may me want to settle on the easy path, be passive and remain unfulfilled.
Interestingly my dad was the only parent in my house. He was a philosopher and the first person who introduced me to astrology. He had a nice balance between masculine and feminine energy. My sun is in 12 degrees of Leo in my sixth house and Moon 13 degrees of Taurus in my third house. My sun also squares Saturn (11 degrees of Taurus). We did have a really abusive woman in our lives for some of my formative years who could be considered to have played a mother role.
My parents did not fight but disagreed and my father wanted to do things his way but I won’t say theyquareled.they are together all their life married. I have sun in Scorpio in 18 degrees and moon in Leo in 14 degrees in my birth chart sun square moon
My Scorpio sun square Leo moon and my married life is a failure with daily disagreements and fights with mundane things with my husband and Iam lately not on talking terms with my 2adult son and daughter and so the whole family unit don’t get along that is passive aggressive without fights but excluding each other it’s affecting my mental health now at 64 years old and they hold me responsible for this situation and Iam still married to my husband!!
In my teens and married life I never knew what Iam supposed to do to get what I want but did not know what that action is that Iam supposed to do to get there.I would think somebody will come and help to do it or they will do it for me!!!it’s because of the way I was raised I think to get this idea!so always felt like a victim as failed to achieve that I wanted to do

Leo Sun in12H Square Scorpio moon in 3H - I've become more self-aware of habits that are self-sabotaging but this was really great to watch to reevaluate some more things for myself. I love and want to create and BE in solitude (12H) or plugged out from the world yet, I still need to be close to loved ones in some capacity to communicate/share ideas (3H) and be in my community in order to get the success I want. I'm learning that balance as a 2/4 Manifestor as well haha I love how everything is connected. Thanks for your insight x

Yes lots of conflict at home. Loose orb. Aries 27, Cancer 1 (Aries rising so 1st and 4th house). I also have moon opposite neptune (Sagittarius), and Sun opposite Saturn (scorpio) and Pluto (libra). I have a mystic rectangle also. 100% frustration like you describe people watching my conflict of not doing things for habits to help what I want. Big internal struggle under the service. I did want to be a parent at some point. I don’t now. Maybe that could change. Definitely lots of fears and traumas I work through with relationships. It’s exhausting. Mars in Taurus so it’s in its detriment. Definitely resonates. Why do I feel like you’re calling me out the whole video 😝😇😅 thanks! This resonates so hard. Appreciate the tips and you’re absolutely right about those intentional self exam time. I am a therapist and wonder if my chart helps with that.

Im Pisces Sun with Gemini Moon,and im going crazy. My moon wont let me persue creative ideas,dream big or have space for spirituality,cuz apparently everything is logic. Let alone emotional reactions. I just cant let mysel get upset about life,cuz emotions arent logical,they just make me a softie.and intuition is considered `wishful thinking`. I cant fulfill my wants and needs at the same time.Its either one or the other.And cuz needs are stronger in the long run,i choose them!

My Sun Square Moon is tight Sun 21 degrees Taurus, Moon 20 degrees Leo and my parents fought like crazy. Married, Divorced, Remarried, Divorced lol so yeah, this is accurate. Also, a very not-self Emotional Manifestor mom with a Reflector dad, definitely a recipe for disaster lol.

I am Sag sun square Virgo moon and the tennis match in my head is relentless. Sagi me wants to be reckless and Virgo me wants to make lists and be exact, Sagi wants to try a million new things but commit to none & Virgo wants to do the one thing with precision, (this leaves a lot of half-assed projects laying around) which ques the most vicious inner critic and when I can't listen to her anymore I get in the car and go to the lake & dance drunk on the shore. I wanted to cry and stop the video from just listening to you beginning this. Its because when you said the fatherly energy of having someone give you self confidence to express your creativity and help you get into your career. I never had this encouragement even though I have a father. I didnt realized this level of neglect. I also have an 8th house sun, so thank you for opening up my blind side. Im still floundering as a 43 year old with career. I never realized this connection. I was never given confidence in pursuing my career or given confidence in my abilities/my fullest potential. Ive never felt like I was allowed to follow my creative vision. I never fully formed my ego either and Im trying to strengthen the small amount of ego i have now with help from a professional. I did know my scorpio moon meant my mom was cold and neglectful abusive even. This is helping me realize i lost a lot from my dad too. My sun square moon is a 4 degree orb, not small but not huge either. Thank you for this video. Its going to help me be more compassionate with myself ❤

I've got sun 4° of sagittarius square 30° Leo moon.
Growing up my dad was nowhere to be seen, I later on found out that they cheated on each other, there was all kinds of other things said and done between them that I don't really want to get in on social media but I feel like I was stuck in the middle of them fighting and arguing amongst themselves. I didn't have a relationship with my dad at all as he wasn't around but I felt that my mother struggled with us by herself so some of our needs went unmet as well, especially emotional and mental needs. I feel like because of her upbringing, she didn't fully know how to nurture us emotionally and mentally so I don't blame her either. My brothers and sisters had a different experience, my older brother who has same dad had a relationship with him and my younger brothers and sister is from my mums second marriage.
We had basics, food, clothes, shelter etc however

Someone who I love very much has this square…Aquarius sun square Scorpio moon conjunct saturn and pluto. He has the worst mother you could possibly imagine yet he doesn’t follow what he wants and he’s self sabotaging in order to submit to her. It’s awful to watch….he always WANTS but he CANT do it because she is not giving him an approval. Essentially he gets emotionally conflicted and guilty for prioritising his emotions over his mothers so he never does what he wants to do. It’s an awful aspect…his sun is in the 12th house..
