I'm surprised you didn't mention the interaction between stun and burn or poison, if the enemy is incapacitated while poisoned they suffer poison damage and again when they act. I run Aubin with Travis, Travis poisons with Viperfang and I have Crush set to target debuffed enemies, together they eat hoplites and fighters while still being effective against any other enemy types.
housecarl to me is like a physical mage. good on an all martial team with high initiative. could use a tank indeed to protect it but ideally a tank that can deal some dmg like josef. no need for a hoplite. on a high initiative, good dmg team, it wont need a tank for long stretches. the crush with high initiative is key for mitigating dmg.
I think housecarl is going to be a real sleeper unit. Level 10 is going to be huge for them. If you can find an axe with lifesteal in the full game and change their growth disposition to be more tankey they could hang out fine on the front line, or you can go all in on attack and keep them in the back for more offensive support
I want to like Aubin, but he definitely goes down fast. I'm not sure if when the game comes out I should change my formations and try to put him in a party with Lex and Sharon or Chloe. I'm of the opinion of getting his crushing axe dropped for something else. My thoughts on what that weapon would be would probably be a templar axe. It provides a physical defense or block rate of 8% I think and increases damage. It definitely works on Bruno so a second one could help Aubin.
I actually had him in a squad with Clive. There he reliably facilitates Clives sweeping either by eliminating a fighter outright or in case of gladiators weaken them reliably for Clive to get a kill and start sweeping. Sure, thieves and hoplites slow him down a bit, but against anything else he is pretty neat. And i am pretty sure the multi-hit at lvl 10 can help with thieves as well.
Idk the housecarl is still worse than knights as knights can wipe an entire squad as long as there is not tanky units or evasive ones. Housecarl just seems underwhelming when you look at the other physical attackers.
It's high initiative is bad since it tends to waste it's main attack on a hoplite or fighter meaning you'll have to give your mage or hammer unit initiative increasing gear just so the housecarl does not waste it's attack.
You can see set the attacks tactics to focus on low defense units. His primary attack does reduce the foes physical defense which is something you may want to ensure the kill on an armored unit.
@@mannsama7084 Or I can just kill them with a magic user and just use knights on low defense units housecarl can hit four at the most knight can keep going forever.

Physical mage is great way to view it
Aubin is already one of my favs just from the demo alone.

Sorry is there a quick reference in game who is strong and weak vs different types of characters?

he is verry good damage dealer that can break armor
So a bodyguard that weilds an axe.
Are swordmasters avalible in the demo? I know for a fact they revealed a story swordmaster guy you are supposed to get.
They are, you want to go behind the castle at the end of the demo, there is a gate you can go through
idk what support rank affects in this game but Aubin so far only has support convo with Alain
They give stat boosts similar to fire emblem supports

@@ihaveacookie4226 I agree knights are likely preferable to housecarls in the demo. We don't know their later skills or their evolution paths.
Housecarls get a near certain two attacks. Knights output varies widely on their resets which is another factor.
