    3:58 that move felt like rubbing salt on a wound. not only was he hoping to move his rook on move 14, preparing for the 15th move but he didn't see the bishop, and you taking away his only chance to survive AND ALSO mocking him by doing his challenge for him, that felt brutal

    These are a lot more dynamic now that the drawback revealing is symmetrical. Makes me wonder if the button instead of being 'reveal drawback' should be 'offer simultaneous reveal drawback' which can be accepted or rejected.

    The second game was unlosable, all Simp had to do was keep his king on e7, and even if his opponent took all of his pieces and he was forced to make a king move he could just shuffle between e7 and f6.

      Not quite foolproof because of Simp's drawback: if one of those moves is a capture and the opponent moves a piece to the other square, then king has to move somewhere else

      ​@@Stirdix The opponent would never be able to force a capture because to force a capture he would have to put a piece on one of the safe squares which he cannot, as his drawback states.

    It seems that in the higher elos, players are much more likely to reveal their drawback in return, which makes it a lot more entertaining.

      As long as they reveal their drawback at the start, I will always reciprocate. Some people seem to use it when they are already losing in order to give themselves another chance if you return the favour though.

      Some players reveal their drawback when it forces them to do something stupid and lose the game. I guess what they are trying to say is: "I am not an idiot, I know my next move will lose me the game but I can't do otherwise"

    In the second game, once the opponent captured on two adjacent squares, you automatically can't lose. Just move the king between the two safe spaces, and the opponent's only hope is a draw by repetition.

    that second game is so good!! i enjoy it alot~ everything is on equal term. both of you know the drawback and taking advantage of it, and your opponent seems to be capable chess player too so the back and forth is just a feast

      Once e7, e5 and f6 were safe squares, it was almost impossible to lose this game. You can just keep the king on safe squares and you'll never lose. The opponent would have to take or block all other pieces (and pawns) and then block these squares with enough of their own pieces to use simp's drawback. That is extremely difficult.

      @@giacomomeluzzi280 You can't pass your turn, in principle the opponent can block these squares and use Simp's drawback that they can't capture twice in a row with the king.

      @@whocares2277 yeah good luck with that, to be able to do it you probably have to capture most/all all the enemy pieces which gives your opponent way too many safe squares. Maybe not 100% unloseable, but 99.9 lol

    5:50 wait a second! This gamemode requires you to catch your opponent's king. Your king is on a square your opponent can't capture on. You literally can't lose this

      well, he could loose if his opponent takes every piece and pawn or just everything that can still move, to force him to move his king. But yeah its kinda troll knowing that drawback and just having a nearly unkillable king XD

      Opponent can't place pieces and pawns on those squares, which is why they are safe places for the king to meditate on.

      Simp observed the king moving out of check one time and immediately suspects the drawback. The drawback was "when in check, move your king".

      @himothaniel Well he said it probably has something to do with the drawback, not that "I think the drawback is specifically he must move his king out of check." He didn't predict anything, nevermind "flawlessly call" it, just noted a suspicious behavior. At best we can say Simp spotted a clue for what the drawback might be, and it happened to be very directly related to what he saw.
      Plus, as another user noted, he records after so really it's a moot point because he didn't have to predict anything...

    I'm not sure that second game was winnable by the opponent. Keeping your king on a safe square permanently would mean you can't lose

      Yeah it's unwinnable unless the opponent managed to get to the endgame and force simp to move their king, or get into a degenerate position where simp is forced to fail their own challenge by lack of legal moves

    "Haunted" is so much worse as a challenge if your opponent knows about it. Knowing you have safe squares that your opponent can't move to is pretty much impossible to deal with. That second opponent was definitely not a coward.

    In the 3rd game, the reason they moved the king wasnt for their drawback, your opponent did it because blocking the check with the pawn blunders a full rook

    the second guy's drawback is actually impossible when revealed you can't lose if you just put a king in a safe square and never move it
    edit: ok when you're out of materials you'll have to move your king but that also means you have 15 safe squares

      @@ShennaTheShinyEeveeactually, will need 3 squares in a triangle to force a draw. With just two squares, an opponent with 4 pieces remaining can force you to take once, then block the other safe square which you now cannot take back due to your own drawback

      @@iCarus_A Two adjacent squares are enough actually, the opponent's drawback states that he cannot move to squares that he has captured on, not that he cannot capture on squares that he has captured on, which means he'll never be able to move onto one of the safe squares making it impossible to force a capture, let alone block the other safe square.

    I think dxe4+ was a mistake, Kxe4+ is better since your immortal king would seriously limit the squares he can go to, while also having the d5 pawn preventing him slinking away easily, this forces him to take his only legal move of going back to d2 and he's almost trapped (I mean, yes you have to shuffle the king once before you can capture again but you can just use the rooks to restrict him escaping towards the queenside).
