In the future if you'd like to accurately weigh things that are too light for the scale all you have to do is stand on the scale & get your own body weight, then grab your part and weigh yourself again while holding it. Even if your able to get a scale to read something that barely registers by itself, it's more accurate to use the method I described because your in a better range of use for the scale. Great content, keep it up.
How DARE you. I will never reveal my body weight for the world to see.... jk lol. You know, reading that made it painfully obvious that I could have done it in just the manner you described haha. Good call, and I'll do that from now on! Thank you!

Hi my friend it's labor day weekend. I'm going to purchase that mid west chassis front and rear tubular bars for my project 94 Pontiac Trans am. You ordered yours with fog lights correct?
Nice mods! I have a fiberglass cowl hood on my 95 Z28. I didnt realize how heavy the stock hood untill I brought it home in my truck from the body shop.
That's probably a good thing! Haha. That means it's cold where to see them. I could use a proper heater in my shop. That little guy takes the chill off but that's about it.
They look nice and the weight savings is temping but I daily mine and would hate to see what happens when you hit something or get hit. But now that im thinking about it back in the DSM days I did drive around with the front removed so I could fit a intercooler lol.
You know, I wondered the same thing about it at first but to be honest, I don't know how much the plastic bumper support is going to make or break things in an accident...
With the rear bumper empty like that, wouldn't it trap air and act like a parachute? I plan on purchasing this for my 4th gen Z28,but I think I'm just gonna do the front for now lol.Another great video.Keep them coming!
I agree with what you are seeing. I think on LS1tech there have been a few guys that install some thin gauge steel from the bumper to the trunk well if that makes sense. Sort of like a diffuser? That being said, I had one on my last 4th gen with no issues like a ton of other people. Glad you liked the video! Will have more coming for sure.
@@Greenlightfilming A diffuser would be awesome. Currently there aren't any functional ones for these cars (only aesthetics). Have to get one custom-made.
@@redslate I wonder what a guy can do to make one at home. It can't take extreme talent if you put some thought into it. You've got me thinking here lol. Been really interested in making something out of carbon the last year.
30+ lbs off the edge is a huge drop versus 30 lbs removed from the center of mass. Should significantly improve handling. I looked into these myself. Just installed the MWC 9" diff w/ Watts linkage.
@@Greenlightfilming The standard one actually weighs slightly less, but with the upgraded housing & 35 spline, it ends up being a bit heavier ~15-20 lbs). Should help with weight distribution however. These cars are 56/44 from factory. Considering just changing the front support to get closer to that magic 50/50. Other tricks involve pushing the engine back further (possibly into/through the firewall), relocating the battery (necessary in some racing anyway), and putting in a lightweight K-member).
I see what you are getting at, and moving the engine back would be fairly low on my list of things to do haha. You mentioned the tubular k member. That was one thought I had too. Have you relocated your battery to the back yet?
I was looking to do something like this for my ‘91 Z28. I’m planning on an LS3 6-spd swap, tubular K-member, and a glass hood. I’m at around 3300lbs, would love to get to 3k or lower.
This is a good way to lose weight in a 50/50 distribution. They are pretty affordable, so it's not "bad" as far as wallet weight reduction goes. You've got to do a lot to get them below 3k. Good luck!
Damn I Never knew they made them bumper supports... that is neat too... I'll definitely have to get them for my 94 Trans am. It's also nice to have all the proper tools as well... U mentioned that the bolts in the upper back corner a wrench would not fit?? What did you use as far as a tool?? So I can buy it... Before I do this to mine...
If I recall correctly, I used a deep well socket with a couple long extensions. The hardware area is way up in a crack that you can't really get to with a box wrench.
@@Greenlightfilming thanks for the info my friend.. I'm in the process of a complete restoration my bird needs it. I get my interior pieces through classic industries. The headliner is starting to sag toward the back yes it's a t-top car with leather or at least cheap leather lol...
Hey great video it's been over a year now was wondering if you still this product as much as you did when installed. Has that are of been any weird sagging because of this kit.
I want to doo this mod, but I am wondering what would happen in a small crash, or a crash in general. Would the bumper supports do what the OEM equipment would do?
I would imagine the OEM equipment would outperform these in a crash scenario. The primary reason is to shed some much needed weight. This also frees up a ton of room behind each bumper cover.
A. F-body 1 Vids no they won’t help at all in a crash. Maybe at idle but more than that and it would wad up. Prob for cars with cages that don’t need that protection and need to drop weight for the cage.
I'll always have a soft spot for the camaro. Really loved that car.. That being said, this trans am is a "dream car". I'm really starting to take a liking to it.
So I got the free 97 formula ws6 running... I've been doosh in it out including the dead mice it sounds fucking awesome... Next it needs the trany rebuilt. No reverse ..... Clay barred n waxed it. Shining like a mother fucker body is mint ..... 🤗😍🤗

Awesome! Hope you find it helpful. There's no instructions or anything, but it's fairly straight forward
I actually ordered that same thing and will be doing an install video as well. Great job!

I like those bumper support. Ill check if i can get them to my 95 firebird formula
You should be able to. They make them for all 93-2002 fourth gen camaro and firebirds.

They are well worth it. Something like 25-30lbs off of the front and back of the car all said and done.
That won’t help in a wreck at all whatsoever. I have a bodyshop for a few decades. But if you don’t plan on wrecking more power to ya.

The factory bumper supports are only made for 30 MPH impacts. They don't help very much at all.
