I have a fun idea for a challenge. Could y’all please catch eight Pokemon of your choice that all have random abilities. Both of you also get to pick out the move sets after catching the Pokemon. Once you both acquire teams, read off each of your team members’ Pokedex entries. If the one being read to correctly identifies a Pokemon entry, he gets the option to force a trade without knowing the moveset of the identified Pokemon. The player who gets the identity correct is also able to pick out a custom ability for the traded Pokemon. Sabotaging some of your own team members is legal. Let’s say that the two leftover Pokemon with easy Pokédex entries are physical attackers like Machamp. You can rigg the entire moveset to be special or support moves. The Pokemon can’t be pseudo legends, legends, paradox, ultra beast, mythical or, starters to make it a bit more challenging.
It doesn't matter a lot but I just want to say the example you gave for any ability token on a raquaza and giving it dragon maw when it can't use STAB is great lol
I love how in the intro they used Dragon's Maw Rayquaza as an example of a broken custom ability but the whole point of the video is that they can't use STAB.
Although to be fair to Shady, he wad technically right. According to the rules of this video no dragon types had shown up at all up to that point. Because they're only going by primary type, not secondary/both types. Both forms of Dialga are primary steel, therefore as far as the video is concerned "not a dragon", Gouging Fire is primary fire and therefore "not a dragon", both forms of Palkia are primary water and therefore "not a dragon", and Miraidon is primary electric and therefore "not a dragon". So the supercut didn't really do anything other than prove Shady's point that none of the 9 out of 19 primary dragon type pokemon had shown up. So if anything it makes the editor seem a bit sillier since context matters here.
Suggestion: "We reassigned each Pokemon's stats." Basically you must rearrange each pokemons stat block by swapping the numbers around for each stat. EG: 90 attack might becomes 90 defense and 110 in speed is now the attack etc. If you land something like Mew nothing changes but otherwise you have to reassign all the stat numbers in the stat block of each pokemon in order to change how each pokemon can be used. If two stats are the same you can swap them with each other so they don't change but you also have to swap the other stats too. Glass cannons can become walls, slow mons can become speedsters, special attackers can become physical. Who knows?
Genuinely I think doing three battles regardless of the outcome is a good idea because it stops you from being able to tell who wins by the video length!
My then we fight idea: You choose your opponent pokemon blindly, but they get Buff, by its Smogon Ranking (Fully evolved) Uber: Two Random Debuff OU: One Random Debuff UU: Nothing Changes RU: Gets +30 BST NU: Can choose Ability from Pokemon of the Same Type PU: Get Illegal Move ZU: Get any Ability, Illegal Move and +50 BST.
You guys have that friendship that makes me genuinely wish I was friends with you, the banter and the laughing and everything I would fit in so well sometimes I find myself laughing and just can’t stop, like Dylan laughing at the uxie right before round 2, it’s that kind of nervous laughing that just can’t stop. You guys are the best
Nope, there are still worse - having Adaptability without STAB is like having, Idk, Honey Gather or whatever it's called, which is still better than having Truant or Slowstart.
I was really hoping that Shady would terastallize Ogerpon, it would've been fun to watch the game have a meltdown trying to comprehend tera water Teal Mask.
I was LAUGHING so much with the dragons edit omg! Love the videos you create and looked up to you guys for a very long time! Love the people you collab with and hope you keep creating more! 😄
Idea: Your friend blindly chooses your Pokemon for you and you must take 2 attacks from each Pokémon left in the stage they are. Random ability. Ex. starter left Fuecoco, starter middle Quaxly, starter right Sprigatito. Your friend chooses: Left! (Fuecoco in that case) for you (blindly, they do not see your screen). You will then be able to take the Fuecoco and can evolve it to Skeledirge, but you must take 2 moves from Quaxly and 2 moves from Sprigatito. NOT moves from their evolution line. You won’t be able to take Aqua Step nor Flower Trick since they do not learn it before they evolve. Good luck! 😊
How has no one mentioned them getting genies on the same round, both getting versions of Entei, and Shady getting Uxie and Azelf. Insane amount of coincidences
I'd say a good addition to this would be: if you name a type, that's the STAB it loses (so calling a more general type to catch the opponent off-guard you could leave them with their best STAB move) and if someone is given the fake typing they can grab any move of that type (an incentive to cover good mon instead of bringing up the bottom end)
Shady: 'How could you give this bulky ice horse contrary?' Luke, like a million videos ago: 'But what if he was tera fighting and had a guy riding him?'
video idea: Golden Median on every starter screen you may choose any of the three, but it's stats get changed to be the middle of all the pokemons stats so if there was 130, 95 and 75 Attack Base on the screen the chosen Pokemon would have 95 Attack do this for all 6 Stats on all starter screens and maybe include the same-type Ability rule if you like for more strategic planning Alternate Rule: every round before looking at the starters you declare one Stat to take the highest of and your opponent declares one Stat to take the lowest, making each call only once
I wanna argue that Uxie is great without stab. It's often built to pivot or tank and use utility moves like stealth rocks, yawn, knock off, thunder-wave anyway. Losing out on the stab psychic damage makes it more passive, sure, but Uxie also becomes quite the hefty tank if it doesnt have to take stab moves from anything :) Great scoop imo!
Idea for a game to play with four. Pokemon monopoly. Each space is a pokemon instead of a property. When each player has team of six you battle. Ofc the higher priced places are better pokemon
Quick video idea: Akin to the "God" mon video, but instead 1st round has to be a legendary; and the subsequent rounds each Pokémon has to swap one of it's non-HP stats with the Godmon. Does the Godmon become trash to power up the team? How many mons become mix attackers? Does the Godmon's blessing allows another to ascend to Godhood itself?
It would be fun if you guys did an unconventional sets then we fight, like physical flutter mane, special kingambit. With whatever extra rule to spice it up
Here's an idea to put a twist on this vid: You choose each other's starters but only get moves from the STAB moves of the other 2 starters movelist E. g. Kyogre with fire/water moves from Volcanion & dragon/ghost moves from Dragapult Could be fun or awful😅
I was also in the Uxie sucks camp until recently. PlayMore had a really great run in a recent draft league and they used an Uxie to really great effect latter in the season. Really turned my opinion around on the mon.
Here's an idea for a vid. You choose your Pokemon. Build your teams. And THEN you change their types. You don't get new types and then try to match. You make diverse movepools and hope you get good types.
The best abilities for this, in my opinion, would be refrigerate, pixilate, and/or galvanize. Since these could be used to technically not have a stab move and still get stab
Next, same idea, but if they guess the wrong lie, you are blocked from that type instead. So you can declare Mewtwo Dark and lose Nasty Plot but keep STAB, so long as you aren't caught.
How it started: pick your starter Current rules: all legends, pick blindly given one type, one is a lie, if you pick a lie you can put any ability on your pokemon, otherwise you pick any ability from that type, and you can’t use stab moves
Yes I was just thinking about it too. When I first Started watching these poketubers I was so excited with just seeing randomised starters and then battle it was so new. dude there's no dragons showing up today
11:50 the dragons edit was amazing
I came here for this comment.
Dude Dude 😭🤣
DUDE THERES NO DRAGONS SHOWING UP TODAY 🤣
dud dude
Yeah honestly more edits like that would spice up these videos and make the audience laugh more 😂
Dylan: "Dude, Uxie is the worst."
ShadyP: "Yeah, but at least he's not Regidrago."
And Regidrago took that personally
Wouldn't Uxie be ideal because you weren't using offensive stab on it anyway?
i mean regidrago went crazy tho
"And I took that personally"
33:17 "critical hit! Lmao" is crazy 😂😂
Was wondering if anyone else caught that. 😂
my soul left my body
Literally just went to the comments once I saw that to say the same thing. Just to see this comment immediately.
17:30 editor is great for the very quick "yes he changed it" to replace the ability when Dylan said strong jaw 😂 so subtle but funny

Editor doing Shady dirty "dude there's no dragon today" *supercut of all the dragons* 😂😂😂

thats actually a pretty nice idea!, congrats coming up with it!
Double stats of mons with all the same stat. Would be hilarious
Oh god, blissey about to be goated!
This would be insane /pos
perhaps shuffled at random?
I love the blink-and-you-miss-it edits here.

Other than for the content, one of my favorite reasons to watch shady is that you can pause the screen at any moment and he's making a meme-able face
I see your work editor 😂 at 33:16 the text says “a critical hit! Lmao” that’s so good!

Did someone edit in a "lmao" after "A critical hit!" at 33:16? Cuz that's funny as heck, editor, keep up the great work (:
40k more subs to reach that goal!!!! You got this Shady!!
Also that thumbnail is awesome 👏🏽
How has no one mentioned them getting genies on the same round, both getting versions of Entei, and Shady getting Uxie and Azelf. Insane amount of coincidences
"I'm literally, I'm unfriending you on MySpace. I'm taking you off my top 8." 🤣
Hearing Shady go from saying we're trying to hit 100k to 750k subs makes me so happy! ❤
A crazy concept you guys could do is kinda like this where to tell the types but your opponent gets to change one of those types of chosen pokemon.
Encore actually ends the moment you run out of PP! thats why Detect is better than protect in VGC, less PP ;) and also imprison+protect i guess
So you don't go to struggle?
You do but doing some damage very turn can be better than no damage every 2nd in some situations
The editing was on point here, so good lol
I have never seen Shady throw so hard in my life. And that's saying something.
One of the funniest vids for sure, the content is strong with this one.
I just got my gaming recap from RUclips, and you were my 3rd most watched creator this year!
I love it when Dylan just calls it without knowing it. He's done that multiple times in multiple videos!
Thumbnails are pretty as hell. Always love seeing em on your vids!❤
Shady: 'How could you give this bulky ice horse contrary?'
Luke, like a million videos ago: 'But what if he was tera fighting and had a guy riding him?'
video idea: Golden Median
on every starter screen you may choose any of the three, but it's stats get changed to be the middle of all the pokemons stats
so if there was 130, 95 and 75 Attack Base on the screen the chosen Pokemon would have 95 Attack
do this for all 6 Stats on all starter screens and maybe include the same-type Ability rule if you like for more strategic planning
Alternate Rule: every round before looking at the starters you declare one Stat to take the highest of and your opponent declares one Stat to take the lowest, making each call only once
