    or dont pay it because they already got more than enough from your insurance but yeah High Deductible plans prob dont; we haven't paid for our childs birth as of yet and they are several years old
    medical bills dont hit credit and the creditor will discount it anyways since they bought it for cheap from the health provider

    This is assuming insurance didn’t pay, right? They can’t, per contract, discount copays/coinsurance/deductibles.

      Typically your copayment or the portion that you owe is what you can negotiate with the billers. We do it all the time

      ⁠​⁠there are issues revolving around the False Claims Act if healthcare entities do this routinely. When I worked in medical billing while i was in grad school, we could only do this after 3 bills were sent out :)
      Else, every person would just go to ER in January to have deductibles lessened
