- I was very kindly invited to attend the second official RWB UK build by Jag & Raj from RWB UK. I couldn't miss the opportunity to meet the RWB community & Nakai-San himself, so went down in my 964 to see if Nakai-San even remembered working on the car back in 2008 for Promodet Japan.

It was really cool to meet him. I really didn't want to bug him too much. He'd just completed two or three builds & had had to go to a chiropractor I think, as he's overdoing it massively.

I made a monopod mounted to the rear wing mounts with a 360 camera on it.

Was great to be there and chat with you about RWB. Visiting Nakai-san’s workshop in Tokyo is something I did 5 years ago on an Outsiders ‘style’ tour inspired by you! Meeting him again was amazing. Great vid, keep doing what you’re doing, inspiring old gits like me and the next generation. 😎👍

Haha, that was a bit tongue & cheek. I've been a part of the RWB family for a while. There's a Line group (Japanese Whatsapp type app) for RWB owners.
Driftworks I thought the UK grey 993 was the first or second rwb car? It’s currently for sale too
Apparently the grey one has been revoked, as VAD who had the car built copied the kit to sell on to others & hugely disrespected RWB.
RWB France #3 is perfect.

Hi Mate. Loving the video, especially the rear mount camera when your driving. What camera mount did you use? was it the bushman popeye? just brought the 360 x one and excited to use it :)
I made a very sturdy extendable pole out of a monopod. I had to drill and tap the wrong end so the weighty bit was at the base. I then bolted it onto the spoiler mounting holes with Pclips. It was mad drama, but I wanted to see how it looked.

Just spent the weekend catching up on all your 964 content. Sadly I missed the boat on getting my own 964 but finally have my own 911, albeit a 996 C2. I still love the thing though and there's just something about a flat six, even if it only has 320 brake and no turbo. Anyway, thanks for the uploads and looking forward to more. Are you going to be at Shelsey for Retro Rides this year? Mark

Mine is a smooth fender RWB. The black one is a completely standard car.

No worries. The V10 M3 is just waiting for me to have the time to dedicate to it. The Lambo is huge job & the plan was always to finish it first.

It's a Insta 360 one X. Very cool, but it's extremely difficult to mount for shots like that & almost doubles edit time for these vlogs.

Thats actually the third UK RWB build. Theres a nardo grey 993 & an orange 964
The orange one is Hibiki in this film. Was the Nardo grey 993 build by Nakai in the UK? I don't think I've heard of it.
Driftworks it’s currently for sale in ebay for £200k. Has Nakais signature under the bonnet. Think it was built at V.A.D.
@@urbanmenace7705 Its has been disregarded due to what V.A.D did afterwords. The RWB and Nakai san don't regard this as part of the family and it is accepted as such. That Car has been for sale for the past 5 years to my knowledge and never sold. The official builds are no.1 Hibiki and no.2 Mai

Why didnt u opt for RHD?
It was built in Japan in 2008 for someone else. Despite Japan being a RHD country, prestigious European cars were always ordered in LHD at the time.

All of Nakai-Sans builds have them. This is a Promodet Japan built car with all the bodywork done by Nakai-San at RWB HQ.

How does one keep fiber glass flares to stay intact with steel panels blended like that?
They're bolted on & sealed around the edges.

Just wondering why your car has red indicators and how that legal in the UK?
Weirdly it doesn't, but it comes out that way on the film. They are red 'ish' as there's a red tint film over the whole rear light section, but from behind it's a lot more orange as it has special orange LED bulbs.

It's a 360 One X on a pole bolted to the spoiler.

Driftworks have fun with that plastic body kit assembled by a Dremel tool, plastic caulking and some spray paint...I am sure most of these guys still wear Ed Hardy shirts. Their is tasteful and their is tasteless. How bad does that thing squick and creek down the road. Akria is selling you snake oil. Shark Werks, Emory Motor Sport, Workshop 5001, Autofarm UK....👈 these are tasteful. You truly don’t understand the brand and neither does Akria keep doing what your doing just do it to a Corvette or some other toy car please.

Haha, I was absolutely gutted that my dash cam didn't work on the way down. Moments after turning off the motorway, a moped with 4 children on it came steaming towards me overtaking everything with legs flailing, no helmets. probably moments after stealing it.
@@driftworks Lol... My experience was a guy jumping across my bonnet at the Three Tuns lights whilst stationary and then laying in the road... Dash cam saved me thank god !
Dash Cams in every one of my cars! I've been thinking about starting to compile all the footage of terrible driving & mentalists I see on the roads.

Nothing more than what I said at the end of this vid. He remembered the car, but didn't really offer me any more insight into the history. He's a man of few words :D

No probs. Welcome to the channel. Mine is an early 2008 smooth fender version built by Promodet in Japan with the bodywork done at RWB headquarters. There aren't many smooth fender versions as it's a lot more complicated to build & can't be done in a single international visit like the other kits.
Driftworks im gonna have look up #promodet i hadnt heard of them until your channel. All his cars are workz of #art but i agree yours with the #fenders molded gives it a much more refined and sleek look. But its still immediatley recognizable as #rwb. And now he #signedit! Congrats!

All prestigious European cars imported into Japan were LHD back in the day. It was a status thing. They still do it now, but a bit less so as they now have official distributors over there.

I always want to love these RWB builds but just can’t get past the horrendous build quality. Crooked cuts, exposed raw metal, black spray paint, black bathroom silicon. I’ve seen 3 of these cars in person, one while it was being built, they all look good from 20’ away, on RUclips and Instagram, get up close and they’re just brutal. I get told “I just don’t get it”, sure I guess I don’t lol.
It's not for everyone to get. I find it a bit uncomfortable to watch too.

Just feel the whole RWB thing is a massive gimmick. Yes it looks great but jesus Christ, scan the body and make them a kit.

Max Maxsson It’s done perfectly with accuracy and precision. People wouldn’t be shelling out the cash if they thought it was whack. There are however certain theatrics that are too much. Nakai himself is totally ordinary and is just going along.

hey when you show the rolling shots of the car, can yall stop with the shitty music please? we want to hear the sound of that glorious Porsche not some royalty free music over that....it would be better to the music in like a engine build, or a tuning installation montage etc, not when the car (especially this car) is hitting those notes through its gears this gorgeous machine that it is...ffs

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. The footage is taken on a 360 camera with a standard mic & no dead cat. It is 90% horrific wind noise. It's not recoverable, so the music is used over the top. Had I filmed it on a proper audio / wind noise friendly setup it wouldn't have had music over the top.

That must be so shit having to come to a different country, use different tools in a different workshop with people watching you. I would HATE it. Even working on a different ramp in the same workshop upsets your aura
He loves it. He travels with suitcases of tools & supplies. It's such a slick operation nowadays, everything is painted & prepared for him in advance & he just grafts for 2/3 days.
@@driftworks I suppose if thats his forte. You can tell when he's looking at a car he's just looking for faults in the paint and other defects. I would love to see what his personal garage looks like and what cars he's got
