Lyrics:
I lost my head, it was not easy
Unknown, unread, it wasn't easy
And each day, each night
Wasn't wrong, nor right
I can't remember what I said
I lost my head
What will I feel maybe tomorrow
But time not real, hours I can borrow
So until for now, as long as how
I can't remember what I said
I lost my head
I lost my head, forget what I said
What's the use to try to deny it
I didn't think it would ever happen again
Wondering why, once bitten, twice shy
Never thought again would I try it
And even though maybe soon
It would end, wanting to stop
But had to go on
Give a little part of my person
And don't reflect
Don't remember what I said
I was afraid and I stayed away
Making sure of my independence
Isn't it true
That I lost my head
Took my time and I didn't rush into anything
Showed my face, just forgetting myself
I lost my head
2. Everything's true, but everything lies
It's so hard to try to explain it
It doesn't matter it happened anyway
And for the time while someone is mine
I'll go on won't try to contain it
Though never sure it could finish anyday
I lost my head
So glad that I made
Right or wrong, I made the decision
To take my chances
Give out something of me
How will I feel tomorrow?
Not real trying to avoid a collision
I lost my head
But today I can see
Took my time and I didn't rush into anything
Showed my face, just forgetting myself

I'm 70 years old. Having been a recording engineer for most of my life, I can't say enough about Steven Wilson's outstanding mixes. Thank you so much Steven for updating these tracks by enhancing the clarity and detail without messing up the vibe with useless effects. It's so wonderful listening to these songs again through your thoughtful genius. It's like looking at a treasured old master's painting that's been lovingly restored. You are most awesome!! Bravo Gentle Giant!!
It really does sound fantastic doesn't it
Да, это просто Гениально!!
They are defined…they sound amazing through my Apogee….
@@adam872even over my phone. THAT says something!
RIP Ray Shulman
Every time I am off doing other things, engaged in other daily life events and then I come upon a song and video footage like this of Gentle Giant in their glory it just smacks me upside of my head how absolutely amazing this band was and what a privilege it was to see them in concert and listen to their incredible music for all of these years. They were/are mind blowing.
Absolutely! I was fortunate to see them 3 times as the back-up band for Jethro Tull in the early 70's. Some of my best memories, and it's good to know there are others out there who share such memories. I have never run into anybody who has even heard of GG. Sad.
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you
@@davidabrinton I saw GG three times and without a doubt those were some of the greatest musical evenings of my life. If I hear a Giant song now (like on RUclips) I actually get choked up. What amazing memories.
Thank you for keeping this precious music alive.
Precious is exactly what this music is. I am still cying for Ray Shulman. RIP my friend. 😢
Damn, I didn't even know till now. He was my hero of GG with Kerry@@lanfrancojelo145
Amazing song on an amazing album. GG is more popular today than during their 10 year tenure of the 70's. Better late than never! The best damn live band, period!
Best epic legendary genius unique band ever live or studio.
Thank you for this! RIP Ray and long live Gentle Giant music
Still raises the hair behind my neck 🔥🔥🔥
Agreed... That’s the feeling I get too. I wasn’t able to put that into words for some reason.
The most underrated of all Gentle Giant albums.
A close second place but imo missing piece is their most underrated.
@@1359401 AGREE!
BOTH of them really needed remixes. Thank you, Steven Wilson! Obviously mixed with a lot of love...
Greatest band ever! And imo the face of prog rock
This is, no doubt in my mind, one of the greatest GG songs, if not the greatest. The sound is crystal clear and the image is pristine. Thank you M. Wilson for your talent and passion.
Slow down there fella. I'd say Knots from the top of my mind is much more interesting to say the least..
@@andrejz8954 That's your choice. Fella.
@@mariolafrance5806 ok, I'm sorry for being a wise guy. Taste is pretty much subjective and the intro to this song is very interesting and nice to say the least. Id agree with that. Have a great year, fella!
@@andrejz8954 No hard feelings ! I just love that song. And Knots is f***ing great also !!!
This is AMAZING ! Been a fan of Gentle Giant since 1975 ! Never had the chance to see them live but , man, there is nothing that sounds like this. Pure musicianship, talent and love,
They were amazing to see live! Multi-instrumentalists, switching places, not missing a beat! And their acapella vocals were simply the best. Only got to see them once in 1976, but it is still one of my most memorable live shows! ❤
I saw them in Boston..
Try to imagine how insanely great they’d be live. Got it???
Now multiply it by 10. 😳😳😳
The same date in Boston, I could’ve gone to see GG or Genesis ( Peter Gabriel was still in the band)
These guys are not kidding. Their technical prowess was unmatched, but it wasn't simply chopsmanship: the music was just SO good, so unique, so lyrical and beautiful and rocking...they were without a doubt the best live prog band of all time.
I saw them in NYC in Nov 1975 at the old Academy of Music by 14th Street. Insanely intense, on point and in your face they had more instrument change ups of any band I had ever seen. Their technical skill was unmatched.
Many try to classify GG and many say it is prog rock. But the only classification is: they are Gentle Giant. They are unique!
GG's music is like wine, the older it gets, the better it tastes.
Amazing!!!!!The most invaluable progressive rock band in the history of rock music. They were as good as humanity was not ready to hear their music. Fantastic musicians I love them and Steven Wilson.
I’m a schooled musician ( Berklee), composer, arranger and producer. Also, a Grammy member, (producer and engineers wing)
“No, JM isn’t my real name”
Gentle Giant is one of the best and talented bands that’s ever come along.
I love Prog Rock and admire Genesis, King Crimson, Rush, Henry Cow, Van der Graaf Generator and many others.
Shulmans, I still think that you’re the best out of all. Top #1
I saw you at the Orpheum Theatre, Boston in the late 70’s
Amazing!!
I can’t even begin to tell you how your music inspired my writing and career.
Thank you 🙏🏻
PS.
The same date in Boston, I could’ve gone to see you or Genesis . Peter Gabriel was still in the band and left after that.
That was a huge decision, but I just had to see and hear all of you play. All of you amazed this Kid... WOW 😳
I'm a life-long musician myself, and there are a handful of irreplaceable concerts I've attended. Gentle Giant is absolutely among them. In fact, if I had to chose just one that I could relive via a time machine, it would likely be GG at the Shrine in L.A.
@@jupiterlegrand4817 I was at that show too. It was amazing! A great memory. Seeing them switch out instruments and the singing with the complicated arrangements was so much fun. Blew my little brain. They played with Renaissance (I think) and they were better.
I was at the Shrine Auditorium show and it was amazing. I saw them live 7 or 8 times around LA. The first time was when they did a week long gig at The Whisky A Go Go in 1973. I saw 3 shows that week and was blown away.
Gary looks like he is 15 years old! One of my favorite guitar player ever! Gentle Giant was such an awesome band, I listen to their music almost every day more than 40 years later.
dear god, what a keyboard rig. Prog bands usually just have two nord's these days.
What a treat to see new footage of Ray and, of course, the rest of the band. The GOAT!
It is funny that it seems no one commented on how wonderful is Kerry's singing. Derek has the power, but the gentle intro is just beautiful. My favorite Kerry vocal piece is "A Reunion" from "In A Glass House.
created almost 50 years ago and still 50 years ahead of it's time!!!
All the bass line are so above reality....!!!!
All the band is unreal but RAY was just so tasty...R.I.P. Sir...❤❤❤
This mix is fantastic but the piece is outstanding!!! What an incredible and underrated band.
Can’t get enough of the Giant. Best band that ever existed.
Just the good old Boys in the Band... Geniuses!!!
God damn this video is so clear. Thank you endlessly. Kerry is the most magical being to bless this planet. Thank you Giants, bless you, rest in peace Raymond.
Among the great prog bands that I love, GG will ALWAYS have pride of place! Great to see them rocking out and showing how versatile they are. Please keep this videos coming. Actually a video compilation dvd would be a great idea and best seller for GG fans. RIP Ray...always in thoughts! ❤
Gentle Giant is my top 3 all-time favorite bands because of epic progressive rock tracks like this!
Probably the Most underrated Prog Rock Band of all time !!! Schulman Brothers are both musical geniuses !
I lost my head, listening to this. Everything about this is fantastic. The tune stays with you throughout the day.
Gentle Giant is somehow both underrated and one of the very best prog bands of all time.
You can hear the influence frome GG in Steven's work. ❤
I LOST MY HEAD tratto dall album ,I 'NTERWIEW del 1976 .
Great stuff. Super audio mix. I saw GG perform this track as their finale in Sheffield City Hall in May 1976. Sadly the hall was only half full. I had just bought the Interview album and already had I Lost My Head in my mind as the stand-out track. I recall Derek Shulman introducing the song saying it was from Interview and I shouted out “I Lost My Head” as they hadn’t played it yet in the set, and sure enough that’s what they played. It was a good track to have in your ears as we left the gig.
This song has been on rotation for the last two years since I've discovered how brilliant this band was. Every intricate note expresses something holy. Thank you for inserting this magic in our lives
This is excellent, footage was restored well.
Strangely proud of getting into GG in 1970 and never leaving. Glorious, majestic, wonderful always. ❤❤
Yessir!
Marvelous! And look at John Weathers rockin' an Oakland A's jersey!
20 years since I first listened to this tune, still hits so heavy, sooooooooooooo heavy
genuine giant!
Mon premier disque vinyle de GG conseillé par un disquaire avisé au Mans. Jamais oublié les notes depuis ...
Hace poco tiempo que descubrí este grupo. Son increíbles, algo precioso que creo que se valorará mucho más con el tiempo.
Truly dedicated to the craft 💪
That Great Gentle Giant Groove! Fortunate to have seen them 3 times. Opening for Tull on 1972 TAAB tour, opening for Foghat on 1974 Freehand era and FINALLY headlining on their last tour 1980. Civilian tour. That last show was astonishing. 2 1/2 hours of intense GG. Did a lot of the early stuff.
That's when I saw them too, the civilian tour, bloody amazing!
Tull with TAAB and GG on the same bill. I can't even wrap my head around that! Saw them both separately (GG three times actually), but man...both at the same show? It would almost be too much!
Amazing to see how popular this band has gotten all these years later. Can any other band brag such a feat?

I hope one day future generations rediscover Gentle Giant and lose their minds! They were so amazing we just weren’t ready for them!
Even the video looks better than I ever have seen before!
I had "Octopus" and did lend it to a Friend a never got it back..The only Gentile Giant album is "Civilian" a fabulous "tradicional rock album". Hope will get the Stephen Wilson treatment.
RIP Ray Shulman! GG is one of the best prog-rock bands ever.
Love the clarity and liveness of the new mix.
Saw Gentle Giant 4 times in Toronto. Brilliant.
Can't be better! A masterpiece!!!
Epic🎉
Absolutely extraordinary!
What a cool and genius song, pure creativism in the Giant style as always, but is really solid and catchy in the prog terms! this is my 20 time that I listen in the last 7 days.....Epic!!!
Ridiculously brilliant! Always fun, always exciting.
I could stay listening to this riff through all day long!!
Damn! Excellent work as always, guys.
I think i can here the piano part in the vamp section more in this mix than in the original, which i think is a positive change!
Just to be able to listen to this enormous music makes life worth it! 💖
Oh God yeah F yeah!!!!!! the greatest most epic legendary unique innovative genius band ever!
So inventive, so much talent in this band. What an era.
Дякую! Казковий гурт! Прог-рок неодмінно рулить. 👋👍
I remember seeing you guys at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. PA. Back in the 80's I was hooked you all were the best most unique band I ever discovered. I am still in envy of the bands tightness to this day.
They don’t make ‘em like this anymore…absolutely genius level music.
Awesome!
I PROUD to have this perfect album on vinyl.
And special RESPECT to Mr. Steven Wilson!
Long live!!!!!
Wow, many thanks for the remix, synching the video to a live concert, am sure it was quite a challenge. I saw Gentle Giant first at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago, and then the Riviera and Uptown Theaters in Chicago. They composed and performed at musical standards that were extremely high, eclectic, and from baroque to rock and roll. And my whole family back in the day loved their records too. Talking three generations. To see this again live is quite a treat. Our sympathies to Ray and his extended family on his passing. I am sure he'd be delighted.
One of their best!
simply brilliant!
They should have added a "magic" to the name of their group: The MAGIC Gentle Giant!
Steve thank you . amazing work after nearly 50 years sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Merry Christmas from israel. You made my year.
What a great song and a spectacular remix job too.
I saw all the great prog bands of the day and NO one could touch GG. Some of the most intricate, achingly great music I've ever heard. Lord for a time machine and those same center-aisle tickets at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. I'm still heartbroken about Ray. RIP
Increíble documento audiovisual. Es muy grato poder escuchar a Gentle Giant con la excelente remezcla de Wilson y verlos en este video que captura en su mera esencia la genialidad musical del Gigante Gentil. Derek, Ray, Kerry, Gary y John "Pugwash" eran unos verdaderos Titanes. ¡Larga vida a Gentle Giant!
great with headphones for the panning.
Human beings are astonishing.
The English bands of 60's 70's 80''s and 90's, pure genius.
What a great time it was back then. Thanks! ❤🇨🇦
Ray 😥
OH GOD, what a great remix and synchro wirh the old concert video, ty ty ty, some tears came out from me, ty
Great!
Deuses do prog... Vos amo, Gentle Giant!!!
oh my goodness, how exquisite is this. ninth heaven for a fan of old. emphatically, i thank you
The breadth & unbelievable talent and versatility of this band will always, ALWAYS be the reason why they remain at the very top of the Prog mountain for me!! Wilson does them amazing justice with his magic!! Bravo!!! ❤
Brilliant.
Rock music made by Elves. Unique and incomparable. Just one in history.
This is going to be viewed by me many times. Gentle Giant has been a long time influence for me.
Excellent.
Fantastic ❤️
Gentle Giant magic 🎶
Très bonne vidéo!
best prog band. saw them live many times, always amazing. still play for my students cogs in cogs to see their face.
What a band, what a mix, what a clear video! Thanks!
Very well done. Sounds good. I heard this song and others from Gentle Giant often in the mid-eighties. I still love their unconventional music!
Wonderful comments below from all these people. GG were massively underrated and under-appreciated in their time for their incredible, complex, beautiful creations but, also, the other thing we need to remember, is that they were SERIOUSLY FUNKY with it!!! You've got to move your body to this music!
wow, that was really good
Remarkable sound! Such a unique band!
Wow! very nice!
The first band I ever saw live, supporting T-Rex at Trentham Gardens. Convinced me that there was more to music than just Top of the Pops 😂. Great stuff.
Это гениально!
