Gentle Giant unfortunately are under appreciated despite arguably being the best instrumentalists in prog They are masters of counterpoint Listening to a whole album of that style could be tedius but for those who appreciate that style and lole to follow the melody streams it is heaven on Earth
Hope you'll listen to more of these guys, I just searched for the song and your reaction was like the 1st vid I was curious. Gentle giant will alway be by far in my top 10 fav bands of all time across all genres
Wow! Someone actually doing GIANT?? I saw them on Don Kirschner Rock Concert in the mid 70's and said, 'WHAT THE EFFFFF???" I gotta hear some MORE!" Yeah, I think I caught a bio that said GIANT played over 100 instruments between them. Keyboard player plays Xylophone, cello - and bass player plays guitar, trumpet, violin, etc. I was lucky to see them with another 'Prog-Classical Rock' British band, Renaissance at a small theatre in INDY in late 70's. Maybe my favorite concert ever! .............. Singer and 'bassist' are brothers, and they once had another Shulman brother who played a lot of brass, I believe.
My favorite show was Asbury Park at the Paramount in '78 - like 10 people were in attendance (horrible thunderstorm plus they were NOT well known in the US) - it was like a personal concert - Absolutely Amazing. They do have a weird wired prog sound but their musicianship was incredible - both with instruments and their voices. So glad you even gave them a thought - Thanks to your subscriber who asked for it.
Gentle Giant are definitely unique. At the "first contact" you can flicker your ears a bit ... but it's worth sticking to it. I think a good introductory song is "In A Glass House" from the album of the same name.
You need to react to some Yes and Jethro Tull. I'd suggest "Roundabout" by Yes and "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull. Both in the progressive rock genre. I think you're gonna dig it.
@@TeezMcGee Dude, I kid you not, I literally asked Santa for sound proofing tiles because my neighbor is deaf in one ear. Looking forward to seeing what you get and if it works. Saw some awesome ones on Etsy and realized that was a job for Santa🤪
While I do like this album Inter*view, they had more albums prior to this one. After this album their music got much more conventional, hardly sounding like the same band. This band is well worth exploring, though.
Hope you are doing well Teez!
I’m still out here on my job family, I’m doing good my friend 🙌
Thanks for showing us some love! Keep up the good work!

YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN THEM LIVE!!! SAW THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS ASTOUNDED EVERY SINGLE CONCERT...THIS IS A GREAT BAND

interesting group of musicians.....endlessly creative, but always Gentle Giant
As with Zappa: it is something else!
Zappa was a big fan of Gentle Giant!
But a very good else!!

The 'In a Glass House' album is the best place to start off with this band imo
Google Gentle Giant lyrics to really appreciate their Shakespearean genius.
🔥
"I don't know whether to like it or not".....wow....At least you're honest.

Love how you are decorating that closet. Super snazzy and pink. 😜
Going to get some sound proof material and more posters as well ❤️

That GONG! Whoa!
magnificent!
Definitely not mainstream! 🤔😊 A very Unique sound . Category... Genre unspecified!
PROG IS A TRIP (medieval funk? really?)
They go from chamber music to Black Sabbith hardness. The true meaning of English progressive rock.
No other band sounds like GG.
Love Gentle Giant to bits. They were only interested in the music - the rest was BS - I have all of their albums
This was my introduction to them 🔥🔥🔥
Wanna get blow away? Watch the Gentle Giant video, live at Long Beach: ruclips.net/video/csA2qxbIfEU/видео.html

Easily the best Prog Rock band (1st wave). No contest. The albums Octopus and Free Hand are their best.
I’d add In a Glass House to that list😅
Nice!!!!
GG music has to be listened to often and intensively. This is not a good-mood dance band.
