This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I consider myself a "doer" but, for many reasons, I am falling short lately. I even told my husband I feel like God is messing with me. I think He's allowing me to fail so that I must lean on Him. I have so much pride in my ability to perform. It has always seemed necessary. So learning a new way to exist seems almost impossible. I need a change of perspective.

Your poison ivy description might have been a comedy movie scene rubbing it all over haha. I used to get it all over my hands where I couldn't bend my fingers and I'd dunk them in a sink of hot water is was it's own weird sensation. If you ever are in that situation again just swim in a chlorine pool a lot.

MANY TODAY TEACH THE GOSPEL IN HALF-TRUTHS:
Many people say follow Jesus, which is true, but Jesus always points us to the Father first. Jesus is the only one who can testify of God the Father, for no man has seen the Father. Preachers and teachers of the word today never speak of the glory of the Father, even though it was the most important message of Jesus.
They preach about coming to Jesus, but they will never mention the Father who gave Jesus all power and authority in heaven and earth. Jesus has told us that we are to believe in the Father, for no other man can tell us about the Father, save the Son. Jesus is the only way, truth, and life that leads *TO the Father,* for without the Father…Jesus can do nothing (John 14:6-10).
“But to us there is but *one God, the Father,* of whom are all things, and we in him; and *one Lord Jesus Christ,* by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6).
Repent, and God the Father will send the Holy Spirit to reveal all things to us, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
