Hey I did love the live action super mario movie from 1994 too. Still love it to that day. My guilty pleasure.
Just watched the trailer for the fire time myself just 10 minutes ago and two impressions. Firstly, why tf isn’t Mario a GOD DAM ITALIAN! Secondly, it’s “only in theaters April 7th” which is both my birthday and National beer day in America. Lot of drunk people gunna be watchin da Mario.
Dude th scammers are back
@@williamhiegel2756 i bet everybody is asking that same question about mario heritage.
Once the movie is out, I will revoice all the mario parts and do put the italian mario version out.
I hate it when they take ahitty decisions like that. It would have been so hilarious to see the whole movie with an italian accent mario
What shocked me the most was the quality of the animation and the detail in everything. When I think of illumination, I think of plastic, bright, simplistic art style and simplistic, cheap animation. This movie looks to have 10 times the amount of care and effort being put in compared to your typical Illumination flick.
That’s what i thought it was gorgeous this just goes to show they care about mario
I think Nintendo helped a lot for the budget. And it shows. And I am really happy about it
@Caterina Vannucchi yeah wouldn't be surprised if nintendo did 70% of the funding here.
@@caterinavannucchi2795 yeah I bet the studio know we have money and they have more money if this movie is different then our other movies we get even more money everyone win
Actually, lately Illumination has really upped their animation quality with several of their recent movies. Sing 2 has some phenomenal animation and even the story has more mature themes at times. I’m hesitant to say it, but Illumination might be taking their stories more seriously now that they’ve found a place in the movie industry. Especially if this movie does as good as it looks like it might
I personally believe Pratt has potential. Even if that last line is delivered a little flat, we shouldn’t judge just yet. Besides, this is a teaser trailer, and we all know that sometimes they use other takes for teasers.
with what chris pratt is being paid, i doubt they'll change his lines as mario, it would simply be too expensive and nintendo failed on that decision, they know now, after the teaser trailer release, that the majority of fans are not happy with the chris pratt mario performance, but for the movie to actually make a profit, they can't redo the mario lines. not only is this a bummer for all of us, but it makes no sense at all that they didn't use a professional voice actor like martinét ??? i am so confused, but my guess is that they plan to make many more movies and wanted to go with someone a little younger in order to keep the voice actor for the next couple of movies.
Bowser looks terrifying, but I do love how the penguins put up a fight at least.
It honestly makes Bowser even more terrifying to see just how supremely powerful him and his army is compared to other kingdoms. The extreme scale comparison, with Bowser's warship being at least three times the size of the entire ice kingdom, really paints Bowser as an enemy to fear.
When the Magikoopa did his telekinesis thing, I thought "This dude is OP. He should be leader." Then Bowser proceeds to just torch down the castle effortlessly and I was like, "Oooh! All hail, Bowser! King of the Koopas!!"
Attempts to put up a fight.....they didn't put up a fight. They Attempted to
They used his smash bros design
Honestly king penguin was pretty badass, props to his voice actor.
I'm genuinely impressed... the animation, voice acting, and humor were all on point. Definitely seeing this in theaters
This was seriously a big deal for people like us. Growing up with Super Mario 64 and seeing the franchise play out, I always had a dream of seeing the real deal on the big screen, and man I was so happy to see this. It's my literal childhood dream playing out. Not afraid to say I got emotional.
Same here I didn’t cry I don’t cry much but if I could I would have I mean when I saw it I was confused and concerned but after watching it a few times I was so happy I think this will turn out to be one of my favorite all time movies
Growing up with 64? Man I feel old
Imagine us, who grew up with the original game Super Mario Bros from the 80s 🙏
Same but i crew up with Nintendo consoles in general man i feel weird and old (I'm just 12 and i actually enjoy more the N64 than the switch)
@@palvy3861 I didn’t grow up with those when they came out but when i was seven i got the real things and i did grow up with the old and new games
I think it's also pretty obvious that the line Chris had was not tied to the scene we saw. It's probably from a totally different scene where his lack of enthusiasm is more understandable. Hopefully they're sort of misleading us for a bigger payoff.
There also seems to be missing dialog Inbetween mario and toad before they set off. Because toad knew marios name right away
Im glad someone pointed this out because a lot of trailers do this.
I am more excited than I ever expected to be about this movie.
I did in a video
7:50 I think a lot of people doesn't know this, this movie is supposed to have the same plot as the comic series "Super mario adventures" (which I highly recommend) and that comic was an origin story of how Mario and Luigi entered the mushroom kingdom by accident while they were trying to fix a bathroom (I think) and yes they are from the real world not from new donk city, they lived in Brooklyn in the comic
I think him not being overly excited for the mushroom kingdom is right because he doesn’t know what it is, he’s just agreeing to go somewhere he’s just been told about.
Agreed
Yeah I mean, Miyamoto is working closely with the the cast now, we know how perfectionist and attentive to detail he is, delaying games and such, I'm sure they got something up their sleeves
Absolutely this. My dude just got plopped into a new world and was told to go to some mushroom kingdom, he isn't going to be freaking out with excitement for a random place with a random mushroom man..
He said that in the video so yeah probably
I think it cut from one scene to another not knowing what was said between the two
I feel like the general consensus is that the first scene was amazing, the second scene was a tiny bit lackluster, and the third scene was too short to say much about it. This movie definitely does have potential
Any change from the "yahoo, its a me, Mario" will get a strong reaction. I can hear the potential in Chris Pratts accent work, I cant wait to hear more of it. There is definitely tons of potential in it.
u talking about scenes on a trailer? dude chill lol
@@TheCharkikan what else would they be talking about?
@@Gentleman534 i mean bcz to get a whole idea of a scene u need more context? the trailer was very good that felt like overanalyzing but everyone has their opinions :P
@@TheCharkikan dude a trailer is literally parts of scenes so people can view them and/or analyze them so they can decide wether or not they want to see the movie
I’ve been rooting for this film for so long without any evidence that it’d be good, so I’m so glad to see they pulled it off and gave us something that has been receiving positive impressions from fans!
Saying "Jack Black just did Jack Black in kung fu panda" is really under playing how good those films are and how good he was in them.
💯
He was just saying that he didn’t put on a voice. He did his normal Jack Black voice. That’s all. He wasn’t insulting the film
plus he does work in video games as well and is familiar with voice over work
Jack black IS Po though. The character was created alongside his image and his vision , whereas bowser is a old and pre-existing character with an established voice or personality etc. that was all that was meant by that
He was very much doing his Jack Black voice. But he’s very good at the Jack Black voice.
Having seen Jack Black live with Tenacious D, I knew that he would positively kill it as Bowser. I wasn’t expecting much from Tenacious D and believe me when I say that Jack Black’s star power Live is undeniable and MAGNIFICENT. A true performer who puts his all into it. His vocal abilities and his mannerisms and his dramatics deliver one heck of a performance.
hope we see some Tenacious B
@Sehajmeet Sohal let people dislike things
@Sehajmeet Sohal why are you replying to this comment lol. It’s irrelevant to anything I said.
@Sehajmeet Sohal but they didn't cry?
Their entire comment was positive
Honestly having caught a glimpse of it now, I've got no worries whatsoever. Looks like it'll just be a fun (and pretty gorgeous looking) movie!
2 things: 100% I think the reason why luigi is always terrified is because he came out into this world into the scariest one, hence the end where he's running for his life from the dry bones... and also, I think Mario doesn't sound super excited when the said "Mushroom Kingdom here we come" is because the audio is definitely spliced, I don't think that's the correct audio for the part, so I think once we see where the audio truly fits in it will make more sense. I'm super excited for this movie! I think it looks fantastic, but of course, the voices still need some getting used to
Think abt this with the voice. Mario’s game voice works in games because it’s in very short spurts. But for long dialog, maybe the game Mario voice would become annoying over time and a little more normal voice is easier on the ears. Maybe the accent could be a little stronger from Chris. Hmmm, idk, maybe I just need to hear more.🤷🏽♂️
I Charles martinet being a professional voice actor would have tweaked his voice a little to make it less annoying. Any other voice actor would have at least put some effort into making it somewhat unique. We'll need to hear more yes but so far I'm unimpressed. But I get it... Hollywood needs star power to sell this movie
@@sweedishpie360 unimpressed how?
@@strange2638 that it's like 95% chris Pratt's voice. I expected a little more from him. Like what Keegan Michael did with toad
@@sweedishpie360 the thing is they don't need pratt, literally everyone hated that casting choice, the name "super mario bros" is enough to pull in people. I wish pratt would have at least pretended to care about it
@@skyguy1236 fully agree! Perhaps with this trailer out and people voicing their opinions they'll listen and have him put a little more effort.
Chris prat’s voice acting was proven worthy in 2014. He fit emmets character so well
Oh yeah I almost forgot about the Lego movies! He did really great with those.
I actually didn't know who Chris Pratt was before seeing the LEGO movie, so for a while I was like, Star Lord? Oh, you mean Emmett?
Yeah. But not for an Italian character.
@@brittianyistre he isn’t Italian. He’s actually from Brooklyn.
Keep in mind, Chris Pratt does have voice acting experience from Disney's Onward, in which his voice isn't just Chris Pratt's voice. We barely actually got a glimpse into him voicing Mario. I think for those who are doubtful of Pratt, we just need to be patient. I don't think we really know what Nintendo wants to do with Mario's personality in the movie, so I'm thinking they chose Pratt as he might have the voice they want for how they want to portray Nintendo's greatest icon in a cinematic movie. Just my take though.
He's still an actor and it's gonna be kinda flat, at least I know I'll watch it dubbed in Spanish with real voice actors 👏
He was Emmet in the Lego Movie and his performance in that was amazing. If he can bring some of that whimsy to this he'll be good.
Don't forget the lego movies too. He was fantastic in those.
@@mr.goodboi2780 What's hilarious is everyone forgets Pratt's Lego Movie role because he did a great job not sounding like himself. They were too obsessed about everything else he did.
Literally everyone forgets Chris Pratt's first appearance in the Lego Movie, at least its the first major appearance I remember seeing him in, as guardians and jurassic world weren't out either. I think Chris Pratt will do great, and let's no forget that in the second lego movie, Chris Pratt played two characters. That is proof enough for me.
I honestly really like the voices. It's not as loud and iconic as the originals, but it's also not annoying and hard on the ears, especially knowing I'm gonna have to listen to them for at least an hour straight. Honestly, I would NOT survive a full hour of Charles Martinet speaking as Mario, my ears would explode, same goes for Toad
It doesn't sound cartoony enough. I don't mind mario not sounding like mario, but I would still want it to sound like a character rather than just a person. It needs to be slightly more exaggurated. Otherwise it just stands out like a sore thumb. Style mis-matched.
@@Hadeks_Marow Look up the French dub, its Mario is so much better than the English one
@@Hadeks_Marow they are using the old Brooklyn accent which I like
I will agree with that, but it still also doesn't excuse that he doesn't sound even slightly high pitched, it's just, a guy
@@Zombiegg101 have you heard the original Mario voice? The high pitched voice was only introduced in 64, the original was the Brooklyn accent.
Visually, its gorgeous, and I'm surprised at how most of the voices really convey the characters in a way that's not too annoying (toad as the main example), but are still recognizable and very fitting. Jack black especially seems like he nailed it. Kamek also seems perfect.
The only small issue I still have is Pratt. I can hear a bit of Brooklyn in mario's voice which is nice, but it still just kinda sounds like... Well, chris Pratt. It's definitely not awful, just a little disappointing personally. Still though, Im really excited and can't wait to see more.
Chris Pratt was the main guy in both lego movies. Jack black, as you mentioned, did the kung fu panda movies and series. The actors have done plenty of voice work for animated pictures.
While they have done voice work they’ve never really digged deep and think outside the box with voice work jack black gives us a badass intimidating take on bowser Keegan Michael key gives us a funny energetic take on toad while staying true to his character and Chris Pratt is just playing Chris Pratt pretty much
Chris Pratt also did Onward.
But he was just Chris Pratt. lol
I'm very excited about the movie.
To me the visuals and story is more important than the voices or "accents"
By story I hope you mean script, because the story won’t be anything special, because it doesn’t have to be, and how could it?
@@WallJumpGames Yeah, I said story because I was thinking of the movie as a game 😆
Voices can be from the 80s on budget mics an long as the characters are enjoyable it’s fine by me
I love old dubbed anime it’s so adorably jank
@@WallJumpGames FINALLY, someone who says a story doesn't have to be revolutionary, I'm so annoyed that people think that nowadays
@@WallJumpGames I mean every Mario games story is pretty much just save the Princess so I don’t see the story being anything special I just hope it’s entertaining and they get the characters right I had my doubts before but my worries have been calmed after seeing this trailer it gives me hope
I started crying of happiness when this was shown during the direct. I've been a fan for 20 years. Looks amazing
i partially disagree about some of the actors only ever playing themselves; Anya Taylor-Joy usually stuck with dramatic roles, but I wouldn't say any of her roles were ever just herself. I loved her in Split. Chris Pratt, while we're all shocked -- he does some decent character work and I can only see his character work improving through working alongside everyone. I can really see everyone's character work being boosted by working with Keegan Michael Key, and vice versa with everyone working alongside Chris Pratt with his sitcom experience. I'm just overall excited after seeing the trailer :)
Money ball...
@@DANCERcow money plane
Anya is an amazing actress, this might be out of her comfort zone but I'm sure she'll do at least as good as the others, if not absolutely nail it.
I can actually hear some Martinet mannerisms in Chris’ performance. I don’t love it so far, but it is growing on me the more I hear it. You can tell they’re going for a character rather than a caricature
im cuatiously hopeful from this trailer, it looks like what we all dreamed as kids it could be.
I think Pratt is good enough. Keep in mind, they most likely had an audition of at least 50 people delivering lines until they narrowed it down. I believe the goal was to make his voice less cartooney intentionally. When Mario 64 debuted, Mario was given his first video game voice by Charles Martinet which was uniquely high pitch and unnatural kind of like Norm MacDonnald (RIP), but he actually talked like that which needed no alterations to fit into charactor. Walker Boone (RIP) was the most recognizable who lent Mario the perfect voice. Pratt is more like going back to the basics which I am sure everyone will appreciate.
Y'know what would be cool if he's sounds human and boring in the beginning cause he hates his job and his life but as the story goes on he starts to sound more happy and for the last scene of the movie it fades to black and we just here the iconic Mario voice in a happy toon
Yes
Just a quick note, Jack Black has done video game voice acting. Remember "Brutal Legend"? Apparently, he did voices for some other games, too. Also, Seth Rogan regularly does animated voice acting. He was Allen the Alien in Invincible, and he's done a ton of other shows. Also, you have to remember, when people "voice themselves in an animated movie", it's probably because they were told to, to sell movie seats. Like, when Seth Rogan was told to voice in that food movie, he wasn't exactly given an iconic character to play; he was probably just told to be Seth Rogan, to sell the movie.
Although, I don't think the other actors have done animated work, so I'm not sure how they'll come off. Keagan Peele sounded weird, but we barely heard him speak. I'm sure Charlie Day will be fine too; he's so crazy and out there, that he seems like the kind of guy would do well in animation.
bro Mario lives in Mushroom Kingdom, imagine if every time you went back to your neighbourhood you were like" HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" like it wouldn't make sense.
As a Mario fan, this don’t look too bad. I was there when the live action movie came out in theaters and I still own it on VHS. Although it bombed I still like it for what it was. This new animated movie looks real good. I didn’t like the direction they were going with Chris Pratt as Mario and not the voice I visioned. Also being animated I was worried it would be aimed at super young kids and wouldn’t appeal to the adults. I stand corrected. I will be seeing this!
My initial thought with Mario's voice is that he was going to sound like the Super Show's voice. Like, those series of Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World where he sounds like a normal speaking person. That what he sounds like here too and I actually like it because it was what I was expecting.
Like, Chris Pratt wasn't going to imitate Charles Martinet, so this is a good way to interpretate Mario too.
He will sound better in the full movie, I'm sure of it. So we just have to get used to it. Xd
I don't think Mario looks more human. Just higher res. Mario has been looking realer and realer with nearly every game. This just looks like the next bump in visual tech. Like I remember being blown away going from Smash Bros -> Melee -> Brawl. This just looks like another model update with modern visuals.
This Mario is probably based on the Mario Odyssey visuals (smaller eyes, realistic clothing textures, etc.). It fits into the grandiose, cinematic vibe quite well!
Calling it now, they are going to make multiple jokes and references to the Italian accent. My predictions….
He eats a mushroom and it gives him an Italian accent for a few seconds and they make a joke about it or say “that actually sounded not half bad and natural”
Someone probably toad asks him where he’s from and he’ll say “well my family is originally from Italy but I was raised in New York”
The original Mario voice actor shows up doing the original voice and they say something like “you sound familiar” or “you sound just like me if I was raised in Italy”
OR SOMETHING. I know for a fact they are going to address it at least once.
These studios should hire you. You predict fanservice perfectly lol
There has to be a New York City joke during the movie at some point
You know for a FACT? Who's your source?
@@Michael_Ian_Blackface you must be fun at parties
@@fuyumi4309 I know for a fact that I am fun at parties.
I love that we get to see the Snow Kingdom! Moments before bowser invades 😅
I think that the movie starts with Mario and luigi jumping into a pipe and they come out at different places: Mario goes to the Mushroom Kingdom in the A-plot, while Luigi goes near Bowser’s castle and just does slapstick for most of the runtime before becoming relevant near the end
I hope they aren't separated for the entire movie..
I liked all about it. I think Pratt can bring a Mario we haven't seen, to the big screen. They've done something out of their comfort zone, and I'm here for it. As well as going for the "easier" choice of Brooklyn accent instead of full blown Italian. Which works fine.
As much as I loved the live-action movie that was made back in the days (and yes, I really truly loved it) this one is going to be an amazing animated movie !
Toad is a boss lol. I loved every voice in this movie. Mario could’ve been voiced by another actor but I think Mario not having a Brooklyn accent wasn’t a loss. And I live in Brooklyn lol. Mario is meant to sound more old school Italian New Yorker. Like ya know, his dad👀
I still unironically love the live action Mario movie
Chad comment. Bob Hoskins is God.
Same here.
Even if it's barely a Mario movie.
The brown/grey washed dystopian hyper-industrial world was the perfect setting for Mario's first movie xD
I think is obviously a risky take to make a movie about a videogame that literally shape 1 or 2 generations of people and is still shaping this generation. The animation i think is very good and the voices are actually very accurate to what we all thought they sound like. Kudos to Chris for taking such a risky job. He will be put to the test here. I really hope that he is working alongside Charles Martinet to make this voice. We definitely need to hear more of his voice in the movie
the mario movie trailer is great! i kinda got used to Chris as Mario
Your points about Mario's lines from the trailer makes me think of Centaurworld where a horse goes into a cartoonish world with talking centaurs and horse starts as just a talking horse and slowly morphs into a centaur herself. I think it will be interesting to see.
This looked awesome. Shocked at how good it looked actually. Now Nintendo listen up…we need a live action Legend of Zelda. Stop hiding that epic iP in games only.
We don't.
Like, why not animated?
mario has the accent he has in the trailer, because he is from new york, and so Nintendo wanted a Brooklyn accent, but since people are used to and expect him to have a Italian voice, Nintendo had chris try to mix them (this is only part of the cause, the other part is just that it is chris voicing him).

I'm still not sure about Chris Pratt as Mario but everything else looked so good. This being an Illumination movie, the animation as expected was spectacular. Can't wait to see the next trailer down the road.
Something you forgot also, is that Foreman Spike has been confirmed to play a small role in the movie already in a VA role. So, my guess is the movie starts with Mario, Luigi, and Spike in the (animated) real world, Mario is sucked into a warp pipe during a job, soon after Luigi goes looking for him and is then also pulled into the Mushroom Kingdom. That's kinda how the Super Mario Brothers Super Show worked. With Mario's more realistic design and slight accent, I think that idea of Mario being an outsider is exactly what they're looking for.
I'm pretty sure he's coming from new donk city into the Mushroom Kingdom because if you look closely at the poster you'll see one of the toads has a bag with three pins referencing kingdoms like the sand kingdom & also one of the islands in the sky looks like the cascade kingdom , on top of that the penguin land looks like the lake kingdom so maybe they are taking inspiration from every game to build the world not just the earlier ones
I just watched the trailer in other languages to see what they did for Mario's voice and in Portuguese Mario actually sounds like MARIO from the games! In that version they're doing the actual voice!!! I guess I won't be watching it in English.
They didn't cast someone to play Foreman Spike for nothing, this is probably going to be an origin story where we see Mario from Brooklyn fall into the Mushroom Kingdom and whatnot and I'm excited!
I’m actually super excited to hear peach’s voice, I feel like they could do something really good with her voice.
“All these actors have only ever played themselves” is such an accidentally disrespectful statement. Damn near all A-list actors are so much more multitalented than you think. This movie looks flawless!!
totally agree, when he was talking about these actors as if they couldn't possibly be able to understand how to charazterise their voices, it came off as really uneducated. To be an actor to the calibre that much of this cast is, it requires immense amounts of training and development, I had good faith in the cast to deliver and from the trailer, it seems like they have.
My man saw like 2 movies and thought that was all the actors could do.
like even in the lego movie 2 the second part Chris Pratt did two different voices
This is super cool, I like the animation, the voices, and the it’s just super clean and official
Jack Black also voiced in a video game. Which isn’t talked about a lot. But jack black is a musician too so I assume he can change his voice.
Jack Black is a really seasoned voice actor/ actor. Whether it was this or Nacho Libre. Jack puts in a lot of work.
I don’t know why but I thought this was going to be live action and I’m glad it wasn’t it looks really smooth.
it was confirmed to be animated a looong time ago
@@Thumbtoe23 wait what? How come I never know about it😭😂

This Mario movie is the definition of you cant judge a book by its cover
We're witnessing the beginning of the culmination into super smash bros
Jack Black totally killed it as Bowser!
Chris Pratt has actually done Emmet in the Lego Movie before, also Charlie Day played Benny in the Lego Movies also, so they both have done character work.
And wood said he couldn’t make a 10 minute video from the trailer. I knew he’d come up with something 😌
I’m okay with M & L having normal voices. They only had one or two word sentences in the games, so we could handle it, but be honest…could you handle Mario’s game voice in full conversation, for an entire movie?? I’d tear my ears off.
Bruh an legend of Zelda movie made like this would be lit
Seriously this is the most adorable looking film ever, the characters and backgrounds feel so true to form and don't feel like they were done by people who couldn't care less about Mario or the universe he's in or even played the games.
I'm in love with Jack Black's Bowser voice, yet still would've been an excellent idea to have a death metal vocalist voice our beloved King Koopa
It looks amazing.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
Keegan has done loads of character work
People complained that they wanted the voice actors from the games, but their voices work for short sound bites and catch phrases. The game voices would sound ridiculous for substantial dialogue.
"I can't squeeze a 10 minute video out of the announcement" 😂😂😂
This is why I'm suprised he made a video, lmao
That's why it's eleven lol 😂
I hope they reference the Mario 64 dropping the penguin off the cliff.
Are there people who really think Mario isn’t a human? He’s literally got an Italian accent and a lot of his origin stories say he’s from Brooklyn.
Ikr
But i think, they Changed his Lore later.
He and Luigi propably were Born in Mushroom Kingdom, but then Moved on to New Donk City.
One day He Just returned to Mushroom Kingdom.
I would love to see regular videos because I love this channel so much
We got like a line and a half of dialogue from anyone other than Bowser so I don't know how the voice work will be, but it looks good and the humor from the opening scene was nice so I don't hate what I've seen so far.
The way Mario is designed, makes him look like Fix-It-Felix Jr. from Wreck-It Ralph.
This movie looks sick I can’t wait for it
honestly it would be pretty annoying hearing a high pitch Italian accent for like 2 hours
I love that Bowser has Jack Black facial expressions. Good job animators!! :D
I also think "mushroom kingdom here we come" sounding weird is more a case of the line being taken from another scene and put there.
Yeah that look when he laughs, I could see Jack Black in it, awesome!
The thing about the line "Mushroom Kingdom, here we come" is that, although we know what it is, Mario at this point doesn't so he's not that excited, its like you found yourself outside of Phoenix Arizona, if you never gone there, well you are not going to be, "PHEONIX AZ, HERE WE COME!"
I love the artstyle, I'm kinda hoping for a mario the movie the game now haha
The fact they're going with the Brooklyn accent for Mario shows that they're putting all their heart into it and keeping it lore accurate as before Partners in Time Mario and Luigi were just plumbers from Brooklyn
Didn't yoshi's Island come out before partners in time?
He doesn't sound flat imo, and I don't get how people say he sounds like Chris Pratt but to each their own
Yeah this definitely seems like an origin story, it'll be great imo
Every reaction video involves someone not having high hopes for the movie and loving it afterwards
This looks amazing!! What the heck!!!! WOOOOOOO
keegan as toad is the greatest thing i’ve ever seen
I actually wanna see this in the theater
I live in Brooklyn and there USED to be a Brooklyn accent, but over time its disappeared. We've gotten so many people move here from the midwest and the Virginia's and the Carolinas. The only place you'll hear a "ny accent" is in Long Island or Staten Island.
Bowser gives me darth vader vibes. Its sick
Agreed
I'll just say it. Earlier this year, Charlie Day said he wanted to make a Luigi's Mansion movie and I can now see that happening.
"Now the piano has teeth, AH, COME OOOOOOONN!!"
"WHY DOES EVERYTHING THAT'S DEAD WANT TO KILL ME?!"
"Now I know why modern art scares me"
"HEY GHOSTS! YOU SUCK!!"
What I like about the voices (even Mario’s) is that they are different yet they aren’t too off sounding so that you’re able to get used to it. A similar situation goes with Sonic in his movie where the voice is different yet you were able to get used to it. I think it’ll turn out well
Back in the early 90s, child me rents the Mario Movie full of excitement and wonder, what follows is confusion and disappointment, but as kid me didn't know what really to expect or hear other peoples opinions (no Internet) I learned over time to actually enjoy the movie for what it was. But hot damn this trailer for the movie would've blown my little mind back then and would've been awesome. Personally, I won't nit pick, I've been burned from a young age and I'm already on board with this. Let's face it, nothing will ever be perfect in our minds there will always be something that could be done better, but this is damn close to perfect. Now let's hope the movie is just as good 👍
Wood, you are not the only person that enjoyed the live-action Mario Bros. movie. It was stupid, it was wrong, and it was hilarious and I loved it all.
Omg they're bringing the Super Show lore back! Mario is from Brooklyn and gets stuck in the Mushroom Kingdom! I legitimately wonder how this will go...
Keep in mind it's just a trailer. We always see different takes used for trailers and in the final cut. Sometimes lines are taken from some scenes and moved to other scenes for the sake of the trailer. Also we've only heard 2 lines. I have full faith in this movie.
Jack Black is a talented voice actor and is very often credited in advice for acting behind a mic. Especially as an example of chasing. I NEVER had any suspicions about Jack Black as Bowser
Am I the only one who hoped they would do a pushy penguins mini game reference when they brought out the penguins against Bowser’s army?
"From an actor who doesn't usually do voice work".
I'm sorry but, go and watch Key and Peele skits yesterday. It is criminal how many roles Keegan has filled, including the voice. There is even one where he's a woman and I had no idea it was Keegan.
It's fascinating how good illumination can animate when they aren't waisting it in fart jokes
Jack Black has actually done voice acting for a long time. He was Lenny in Shark Tale for example. That was in 2004.
Mario and Luigi, originally, was from either Brooklyn in their original lore if I'm not mistaken. That's why they also call them plumbers is because that's was their career back on Earth.
