So after doing a tonne of research on wooden board construction, this video is really interesting. There's no stringer. So essentially, the person that came up with this design realized that the stringer is unnecessary for strength and complicates the glue up of each board because of the need for an individualized jig.. really cool. This is the best method I've come across.
I thought the stringer was only needed for foam boards because the foam isn't as sturdy. I guess if you make the whole board out of solid wood, there is no need for a wood stringer, unless you want it for aesthetic reasons.
Thank you for sharing this video , an amazing construction adventure! May I ask what is the final weight of that surf table? , what kind of barnish did that gentleman applied on minute 4:20? , thanks again for a really nice video.
Your woodworking skill is beyond amazing!

The stringer still has a purpose, transfers shear from top skin to lower skin, just as the ribs do. No string just means more flex, i.e. rocker.
Very cool and very inspiring. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of your projects.
great job
I like your tape technique...
gnarly! I've wanted a wooden fish for a while now
Muy buen trabajo!!,que madera utilizais,un saludo
Did you use polyurethan or epoxy glue to get the wood together? Thanks a lot!

Nice work!!! How did you make the plan for the board? Did you use a other board for measurement or did you design the board with a software?
It has a standard 6'1'' Single Fin inner frame, the exterior shape has been slightly altered to my needs & design.
Was the board glassed?
whats the song called?
Beautiful !!! but do the lack of stringer affect the flex ?
without a stringer it does flex no doubt
Beautiful board! Did you use fiberglass cloth or just resin? If just the resin how many coats?
Fiberglass & Resin.
