Good luck guys. It’s quite an experience. Read A Sea Story: Officer Candidate School before you go.

One question... Does it immediately disqualify you if your gpa is below a 3.0 with no prior military service ? What can help make your app more competitive?

Jada B it depends on which Officer program that you are seeking. The pilot/NFO, SWO and Supply Officer programs don’t require a 3.0 GPA and those are a few of the most popular programs. If your GPA isn’t that impressive, just make sure you study hard for the OAR/ASTB and submit a good personal statement. Make yourself standout other than academically. www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/officer/communitymanagers/Pages/Program-Authorizations.aspx
You can look up the qualifications.

You have to read the different program authorizations. Some of them require less and some require more. A minimum is the bottom line and you probably won't get selected with a minimum, you have to be competitive.

What's going on big brother I'm in the navy as a CS with a degree😑 and I really need some insight on how to study for the oar because I have the book but I feel like it may not be enough and I haven't taken a math class since 2011 when I first got to college.... please help.

It won't be enough. Keep looking for practice videos on RUclips and different practice tests on google. It will help, but the test will still surprise you. Don't take too long on the reading part, it will time you out.

EN1 here. I found the OAR to be similar to the GRE. Try looking for GRE practice exams. I took the OAR a month after the GRE, and I scored well on the OAR. Best of luck brother!
