I've been blessed to own a 760li for the past 3 years. What a roller coaster of experiences and sheer emotion. These are gems, and when managed well, derive huge satisfaction to the right owners. V12 for life.
I own a 04 760LI, I changed all the fluids so I know where I stand. I worked out all the issues the first year of ownership. I own my for 10 years now. nothing but fun and respect. I change my oil every 7,500 miles my transmission every other year. Most folks say that's too excessive but I have no issues.
Hi, I also own a760i and I'm having problems with changing the hydraulic fluid. How do you properly drain/flush the the dynamic drive actuators and other parts of the system? (I guess the servolenkung can be flushed by systematically rotating the wheel left to right and back.) Do you have any information about this procedure?
Great to hear from someone who has had one for so long. The 730i does seem to be a favourite for many, especially if you can work on the car yourself 😁
I had 745d, what a torque beast it was, Logic7 Pro sound system is the best thing I ever heard, and suspension is still to this day best suspension i ever felt... But oh boii did it have problems, but after 3rd transmission rebuilt I sell it for good
Really enjoyed the video greatly! I may be biased just because I am now a recent proud owner of a 2007 E66 760Li in which besides newer model cars I don't think I can ever downgrade. Being a post facelift model I feel it is still fresh looking and definitely does not look 15 years old at all. Thank you very much for the video, it has made my day 🙂
@@bfxieho0f111 my friend, thank you for your nice comment. Ever since my love for cars I always wanted a V12 but since I got the 760Li it's been a love affair that grows everyday!!!
@@bfxieho0f111 I find the pre facelift cars still look very nice and ahead of it's time. I still remember as a kid when they first came out it was out of this world in my eyes. Where I am located there were only 2, 760li for sale which I got the post facelift and the other for sale was your favourite but these cars are very rare where I am located, even the V8 models are not common at all
I've owned a 2003 and 2006. Both transmissions replaced under warranty- along with a few electrical issues. Both had under 35k miles with these issues. After that really no issues and sold at 80:85k miles. I don't recommend buying this tho. Too many issues of what could go wrong. I had new car bmw warranty on both.
I'm still working on my 2008 750i...it has been difficult! Replaced all the parts in the valve body and will be placing it back in the car tomorrow so I hope it gets the transmission going and I can drive my car!
Nice video I love this chasis wishing to buy it all of my life , being a owner of A4B8 2.0 Tdi . ¿ Would be a good choice 730D Manual ? Greetings from Spain and again i love this video ❤
Hi, i owned a facelifted e66 v8 2006 750li, i ve been driving it for few years alrd and this issue keep happening but it never actually cause any real problem so i kinda ignore it, but it still annoy me and im not sure what cause the issue , hope u can help me out. I live in VietNam South East Asian country , the traffic here is quite slow so most the time i drive with speed under 30 miles/hour. This issue only happen after i start the engine and drive for 10-15 minus, and it mostly happen when i start driving uphill and slowly accelerate from around 25 miles/ h to 35 miles/h and that is when the car start a series of vibration/ shaking that i feel like it come from under/below the car. The vibration/shaking come in waves, it vibrating for like 2 seconds and then stop for like 0.5 sec and then vibrate again 2 secs and repeat few times. When i almost reach the top of the hill , it stop. I really confuse about this and its been happening for years and no mechanic in my city can actually figured out the issue correctly. Please help me out on this , thank u so much.
Really like your channel. Very helpful with good information. Do you have any videos on the 7 Series model after this one? I am considering a 2012 740i or a 2016 740iL. I will know what I am getting into if I buy one or if I should just stay away from them. Thank you.
Thanks you and yes we will be following this video up with a F01/F02 (08-15) generation guide, although looking at the schedule it will be a summertime. From memory the 740 switches from the N54 to N55 motor in 2012 and the N55 is generally considered more robust but we'll have more details on this when we create the guide and take a look at common failure reporting specific to the 7 series. The N55 will be in the facelift cars, which went on sale around July 2012 as 2013 model year vehicles. Hope that helps for now, we'll have more details when we create the guide 👍
The 745i has 333ps (metric horsepower) when converted to imperial measurement is 328.5hp. We regularly see these number get jumbled, but generally European manufacturer figures are metric horsepower and need to be converted to BHP or HP which gives a slightly lower figure. Hope that helps clear up why we quote 329bhp in the video and not 333bhp 👍
How the hell is a individual supposed to check engine oil for all engine oil stop leak goop additives at home ? Unless you're a friggin nerd scientist with the engine oil additive test bed instrument's at home then yay can be done, but the way you spewed it is like anyone can spot oil additives in used oil. Period.
You buy a kit online and take a small sample of your oil and then send it off to a lab, relatively cheap, simple to do, and commonly done, you’d have an answer within a week
I much prefer the pre-facelift model, the LCI model looks super bland with it's clumsily restyled headlights. The original, bold versions look amazing!

So far repairs I've had are, valley pan leak, water pump, and valve cover gasket.

No. 730d and 745d
No, the diesel ones are, steer close of the petrol...
Own this model in Michigan Blue, a true beauty!
same here👍
This was the best presentation of any other reviews.

owning 740 2007, for its price, the best looking and technologically efficiente car
Any issues so far? I'm also eyeing to buy one.

E65 only has 6 speed automatic gearbox :)
¿ What about oil ? ¿ Acea A3/B4 full saps oil ? If this is its specification i will go to Pao plus a little bit of Ester with ZDDP.
