John you're such a RockStar for testing these out for a community member inquiring about natural stains. Especially for having to deal with the stank of boiling cabbage!! Yuck! That blueberry is pretty. The onion and coffee gave it nice natural tones. 🔥💜🔥🤘🏼
If you add vinegar to the red cabbage juice, it will turn it into a reddish color. If you add baking soda, it will turn a greenish-yellow. With the beet juice, if you add vinegar it will make it a brighter red. If you add baking soda, it will turn a deep purple. I do this when I dye my own yarn. Awesome job! Keep it going! Note: some natural colors will need 2-3 coats. If you add isopropyl alcohol it will help the color soak into the wood. It also will dry fast and not pop the grain as much. **If you boil your vinegar then add your steel wool, it will be ready in a few hours instead of waiting a few days.
I've been really busy, but back to shop work for 2 months, before I'm back out doing events. You'll see plenty of me, I watch all day while I'm in the workshop! So, keep me busy! 😂😅
Well I feel stupid, watched you do the boiled cabbage and set it down and couldn't believe the blue color it turned, then the coffee did the same thing, then I realized I was looking at the tape.... God bless Mundays...
