At Butterfly Learnings, I specialize in counseling parents and children aged 6 to 16 years, as well as conducting psychological assessments. Today, I want to introduce you to a groundbreaking tool that we've developed to help children with speech and verbal communication delays - the Tacting Kit.
Many children know how to identify objects but struggle to verbalize their names. For instance, a child might reach for a chocolate but cannot say the word "chocolate." If you have observed similar delays in your child's speech or verbal communication, our Tacting Kit can make a significant difference.
The Tacting Kit contains 3,000 carefully curated cards designed to enhance your child's vocabulary and communication skills. These cards include a variety of categories such as nouns, pronouns, adverbs, verbs, and opposites. Our method involves gradually teaching the child to recognize and pronounce these words.
For example, let's take the word "pineapple." We start by showing the child a card with a picture of a pineapple and help them recognize it. If the child has difficulty with complete verbal speech, we break down the word into smaller, manageable parts. We begin with the letter "P," then move to "pine," and finally, the whole word "pineapple." This step-by-step approach ensures the child can pronounce the word correctly.
To reinforce learning, we use a method of showing the child three different cards and asking them to identify the correct one. For instance, we might show a card of a pineapple, a butterfly, and a cat, and ask the child to pick the pineapple. This helps in solidifying their recognition and pronunciation skills.
