Im a car guy. I've built several cars and own a street legal race car. I've been to tracks, I've received professional training, cars are my life. NEVER in a million years would I drive reckless on public roads. I have street raced on empty highways in the middle of the night, but would NEVER put other peoples lives in danger. These people who do street takeovers, and "swim" though traffic are absolute scum and they do it in regular cars not built to handle. There is nothing cool about swerving between cars at 90mph in a Honda Accord or any car. They make people who actually enjoy cars seem like criminals.
I would highly suggest giving up street racing on empty highways even. All it's going to take is one person who forgot to turn their lights on, or pulls out from the breakdown lane, & you're going too fast to react in time. Empty looking doesn't mean empty. Empty is only empty if the road is shut down. My parents were killed by a drunk pos racing his truck because my dad forgot to put his lights on...this buttwipe's sole excuse for why he wasn't responsible for killing them...nothing to do with him being drunk or racing of course...so forgive me if I'm playing Chicken Little here.
In the words of a great Kiwi, “Professionals have standards”. A professional driver knows how fucking easy it is for someone to get killed faster than they can react in doing shit like that
Iv seen so many young speed demons on fast bikes and cars whizzing by at 100+ mph lasting for weeks or even months, until one morning, I see a wreath of flowers and a cross placed on the side of the road where their luck finally ran out. I know of over a dozen roadside memorials like that.
Seeing people doing the equivalent of "ding ding the witch is dead" in those cases warms my cold dead heart. Even paramedics can't help but chuckle when one of those get their comeuppance, as I learned by one popping a wheelie, breaking his femur (the only reason I had any sympathy, his bike crashed my front) and when they wanted details because cops would be called to the scene, they quietly laughed at him admit this was a self-inflicted crash. (Cops still at the scene but this humbling minimized criminal and insurance paperwork by a lot). At least that one owed up to his mistake and chose not to drag me out of spite.
Listen up young folks. You know what's more impressive than driving fast ? A clean driving record, a low insurance premium, and keeping your car into adulthood.
It's still hard because the government wants crime statistics to be with their narrative so they don't arrest, don't charge, or don't report the appropriate race for crimes

I am a professional driver (have drag raced professionally for close to 30 years)... this isn't what a professional does. No, they remove as many risks as possible and don't put other people's lives at risk. No, you only risk your own; even then, you try to mitigate the risks to self as much as possible, too.
A “volunteer” where I work is facing a charge for reckless driving. I warned him he could kill someone but he said he plans to do it again but will be more careful. He said he doesn’t want to pay money to go to a track.

I live in the Midwest where its usually tame. In the last two years I've ran into three intersection shutdowns (where they do iffy donuts in an intersection while several other cars block off traffic) and one of the times they just started kicking tf out of my car while I was trying to reverse and leave them alone. Your humor is refreshing and spot on! You nail it EVERY time‼️ Thanks for being YOU. Carry on…. 👍😂❤️😛
I watched the interview of that loser and he was claiming the reasons people drive like that on highways is because “theres not other places to drive like this” as if TRACKS dont exists. Dude had access to crazy cars but couldn’t afford to drive at a track and really test his skill? My conspiracy is that reckless drivers like that are intimidated to go to a track because they don’t want to get gapped by people who ACTUALLY know how to race.
Well, in nyc at least, there arent a huge number of tracks available, plus most of the time they need a spec car that fits a racing league. Not justifying his actions, just saying it's not always the easiest to get onto a track. Another thing with street driving as opposed to track is it isnt repetitive. You arent taking the same 8-12 turns 50 times in a row. it's why No Hesi can be so much more fun than standard AC because the adrenaline you get from near misses is way above that of going on a track.
@@Collywood-Studios lack of actual circuits in the immediately area I can understand, but not excuse. As for racing leagues and specs and restrictions, what about track days? EDIT: also as for street racing not being as repetitive as circuit racing. What about rallying? It’s not just dirt and gravel, even if I’d prefer that kind of terrain for the sport.
NYPD does not prioritize chasing street racers since it's a very crowded and crime ridden city, if there's too much traffic (which is basically always) they WILL NOT pursue because it's a danger to the public and causes the suspect to drive even more recklessly, risking more lives.
Note on street racing: I used to be good friends with some street racers; til the friends group fell apart after everyone quit racing. cuz one of the main people had a part break on their car while racing, lost control, flipped, his gf wasn't wearing seat belt and faceplanted a post, instant ko, woke up in hospital to be told he was being charged with involuntary manslaughter, you get the rest.

As someone who’s a car enthusiast, people who cut through traffic for fun/clout like that are massive pieces of shit. Only endanger yourself or willing participants if you’re gonna drive recklessly, and ESPECIALLY don’t do it on crowded city streets where there’s hundreds of pedestrians to hit.
Right. There exists car enthusiasts meetups here and there, and you can even go to a racing arena in some places as a normal person and drive around for a day if you pay. How do I know? Because my dad is a car enthusiast, and he tells me all the time how he does car races with other people, in winter time even on frozen lakes.
It’s fun.

I think there is also an adrenaline element as well when it comes to illegal street racing too. But yeah, go to a track.
