    I painted the interior of my entire coastal house years ago with Sea Salt. It was like a refuge. So calming and peaceful. Then I moved to the mountains, and repeated that in my new home. It does change colors a bit from room to room depending on the light and flooring. But I have found that my mental peace depends on this color surrounding me in my home. I had alot of emotional healing to do, and I highly recommend it for that. I've paired it with snowbound, which is my favorite white color , and a mixture of grays and bold furnishings like deep emerald greens and deep teal. I love it!!

    Have SW Sea Salt in all 3 bathrooms and laundry room. Love. 1 bathroom has no windows. 2 baths and laundry have very small windows, so minimal natural light. Have BM October Mist on walls in den and office and SW Alabaster on all walls and trim in living areas and bedrooms. Gorgeous combo for my smaller home in climate that receives little sunlight.

    Sea Salt also looks lovely in rooms that have Oriental carpets and more traditional furniture as in my dining room and entry room. I love that the colors differ slightly from one room to the other due to orientation and number of windows. Sea Salt looks very fresh as a background to English country style that features a lot of oil paintings and brown furniture.

    Thank you for another terrific video. After trying literally a zillion color samples, I painted my walls Shoji White. It is a beautiful chameleon color that changes with the light. Sometimes grey, other times creamy white, it is always beautiful.
    Sea Salt is lovely. I am intrigued with it paired with Retreat. AUGH! I must finish my current painting projects before I begin dreaming Sea Salt.

      Hi Audrey! I am 99% decided on shoji white for my main living space/ dinning room. However, I’m stumped on trim choice. Wondering what colour you decided to pair it with? Thanks.

    • @Audrey-km9in
      @Audrey-km9in Год назад +1

      @@shanner4130 - hi there. Trim. Augh! This was the bane of my existence. In my house are 21 doors and miles of trim. I couldn’t justify paying $10,000+ to have my house painted so I reluctantly decided to leave the trim and change the wall & ceiling color. It was a nightmare- I painted everything twice - the first color was 25% of the trim/door color. Looked great in October but when the sun poured in - horror! I would rather have poked out my eyes with burning sticks than begin again but I could not live with the color. Back to the drawing board. Finally found Shoji.
      I wish I could upload a photo or provide you with a color name - I don’t have it. I do have a can of trim paint with codes and would be happy to provide you with it if that would be at all helpful. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. It is darker than the walls and is a taupe/golden/beige color.
      One piece of advice if you are DIY-ing and go with Shoji- paint the ceiling the same color as this will make your job much easier. I used Behr paint in a flat sheen - the durable, can-be scrubbed formula and the sheen is pretty close to their ceiling paint. Cutting in goes much faster.
      I truly love the Shoji White and the color changes throughout the day. It is beautiful and allows me to almost like the trim color.

    I wanted to refresh my bedroom and after looking at my options I'll be repainting the walls with Sea Salt. I've lived with it against white trim and dark wood furnishings for several years now and, though I considered a change when deciding the walls needed a new coat, I couldn't come up with any alternative that I felt I would enjoy more than what I already have. I'm someone who gets bored easily and I do like to update my home fairly regularly. So it's really saying something that I'm keeping this gorgeous color for years to come. I love the way the natural light skews it green or blue throughout the day. If your home is overwhelmingly neutral and airy this is a great option to bring in a very gentle wash of color without upsetting that vibe at all.

We used it in our smaller bathroom (no window) and it went too green for our custom shower curtain so we had to tweak it. Broke my heart but it is still lovely!! I would say it isn't quite as minty green as sea salt and not quite as grey.

    I LOVE this colour! Planning on painting my front door this summer and I am hoping to use Sea Salt (or BM's Quiet Moments) It is very hard to pick a front door colour when the trim is that dark teal colour of that era with a bit of white from the windows, and the house is a creamy sandy/ straw colour that has faded over the years. My entry is in a shaded corner facing NW with late afternoon sun.. Sea Salt is what I have my heart set on (although I may have to go down a shade or two). We have a house that was built in 2003 and we have dark teal trim, eaves troughs, soffits. On our front porch we went with dark charcol railings (like BMs wrought iron). We have stone work with various shades of grey and this charcol colour.) The pillar is also this dark teal colour. I am hoping sea salt will tie it all together because right now the door is white and just looks.... ok but... tepid??.... The Sea Salt undertones should work with the teal and stone no matter the light level : the grey works; and if it pulls blue it will work, if it stays the muted green I think that colour will work with the teal as well. Yes, I will be getting the peel and stick samples and see!! If it works, then I also might paint the bottom half of the pillar the dark charcol (Wrought Iron) and the top white just to lighten up what feels like teal overload Fingers crossed.🤞 BTW, white pillar because front double attached garage and the garage door is white. It needs some company!! :) 😀

I have watch tons of your videos trying to find a white paint that you’ve recommended that can be used on both the walls and ceilings of a space but I haven’t found one. You have a lot of videos! My living room and foyer ceilings are 18 feet tall. My house is two stories and those areas go all the way up because there isn’t a room on top of them. I wanted to use the same color for the ceilings and walls so I wouldn’t have to be precise where they meet. There is 5 doors and thick door frames and trim that I plan to paint a light neutral that matches my stacked stone fireplace and is slightly darker than the walls so everything isn’t so stark and boring. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

I find it plain and boring in all light conditions and all seasons. I already bought several buckets of sea salt paint for the second coat. Now I'm thinking if I could bring the paint back to SW to get more color mixed into it to turn it into a darker version of sea salt, maybe oyster bay. I would appreciate your suggestions. Btw the windows, door frames, trims and back doors are chantilly lace and for the window sashes I plan a mid to dark brown tone. The entry door is a mid brown stain.

    Why are designers so afraid of color? Why is trim white? Why are ceilings white? You call it ‘light’ I call it boring!

      Oh Miriam, Miriam. This color is not gray. If you want to be informed about what you’re commenting on, you should look at the colorants used to make this paint. Yet another comment by a stupid person. Sad.
