Another excellent video! That front is looking good. I think leave the corner vent out... In shop class guys would leave the chuck key in...for fun... looking forward to more 👍👍💯
I think the inside bottom corner of the vent, appears low. I would tape the passengers side, use the liner angle, to find the cats meow, before committing to do do and cut a hole. lol. It is one of those things where you step back 20 feet and look at the "Face" of this car. I used to take photos, print in black & white, then add measurements, take another and draw alternatives. We had a new high school built when I walked in as a freshman. No money was in the budget for machines, cars lifts or anything. The shop teacher taught drafting, so I draw. If see something at a car show, online or just a parking lot, take a photo. Print 4 or 6 and draw over it until I get the goose bumps of that feeling, "I like it". After all, that's how most of us end up married! 42 years later...never mind! Caution (Note: As a kid, I have watched folks 80 yards away, arc welding. It felt like sand in my eyes for 3 days after less than 30 seconds of watching.) Take care everyone as this effects pets as well, but they are usually smarter. Great work and thank you Nick for sharing. You have developed skills I won't ever have at my stage of life. I deeply enjoy creation in action. It makes me appreciate engineering that creates every part, thousands of them. I hope you get 5K comments. Stay safe Nick! DK, Omaha.
Forget apologising for a video you have made. It’s about a thousand more than I have done! It’s all great content and I love seeing this in the evening after I have made a minuscule amount of progress on my own project. Cheers Lance 🇦🇺
Nick, I too am in the no corner vent camp. But I don’t have the visual perspective you do nor your design expertise. I trust your style long before I would trust mine….. but you asked 😉. Go get some sleep and it will all be clearer how to proceed. 👍😎👍
Hi Nick. It’s coming along well ,looks like you had a long day.sleep on the corner vent ,maybe weld up the front and revisit the concept after a couple of days .if you still like it ,go for it. Regards John
Likin the roll pan effect ... still retaining a 50 Ford silhouette ... as far as the vents most bottom feeders don't have them unless they are three port-holes in the fender ... I'd have to see a better example ... but then it's your concept ... like the way it's progressing ... 👍
Fascia looking perfect - respecting corners - always cautious with too much - kiss rule; but I'm sure you will get it right. Probably depends to a certain degree on car color and mesh color and mesh size. As always look forward to next installment.
I really like the scope of the front end , It's a shame you are thinking about cutting holes in it for turning lights. Perhaps they could be placed in the grill opening
Geez you make it look so easy, Nick. Great design and execution, the lower vent intakes balance the front as well. I love that tipping wheel you have there too -I haven't seen one like that but for yours. Great episode!
...Like the corners, a unique marker turn signal, flush on the side and corner, gradually recessed in front, to give it a factory detailed look .... should carry some of the hood peak that way ....
Fascia looking perfect. With respect to corner detail; always cautious it's not too much - KISS rule - will depend somewhat I suspect, on car colour and mesh color and mesh size. No doubt you will nail it. As always look forward to next installment.
What if you created a bumper instead of the center grille piece that wraps around and covers the joint between the upper and lower fender. Could still do a smaller vent under the bumper.
Great video, as always!!! I would pull the car outside and look at the front end from a distance before cutting a hole in that corner. I like the idea of doing something in that corner. I don't know if I like the shape. There isn't really anything else on the car with that shape. It would draw the eye to the seem where those panels mate and I would think that it would make it more seamless if you didn't have it follow the seam. Maybe more rounded corners to match the grill and windshield. Idk...pull it outside and play with the tape. Just my opinion. I'm very indecisive and hate making those kinds of decisions, especially picking colors, even though I'm an automotive painter.
Sometimes its tough, but we're still playing. As I'm working on other areas I'll be rolling the fascia design around in my mind. Easy to jump in and cut, a little more work to put it back :P Thanks for sharing your thoughts Domino. :D

Diggin' the Build! Maybe a bit more pencil to paper and standing back with a coffee would help to resolve the front graphics to your satisfaction. The best suggestion I have is let the car speak to you to complete your vision for the entire car.
Hi Nick, IMOP the side vents would be too much, the shape period wrong for the body. You could use the area for fog or indicators. For inspiration look at the Volvo 164.
HI Thanks For Correct Wording LEFT SIDE/RIGHT SIDE. NOTE: You Are Doing This For Correct Education . The Advancement Of Young Ones In Right "DIRECTION" . T38 Bill
49-51 fords were my dream car when I was 12 years old in 1956. You do amazing work with sheet meta, especially when you start from scratch, but the moment you destroyed those unmistakable taillight side fins and then the famous grill I lost interest in the build. They were the two design features that set this classic ford apart from all the other cars on the road. This looks like something Detroit would build today to impress the wannabe market.
Hey Nik, Great name! If you check out the first videos in the series you'll see that it was rust that actually destroyed the side tail light areas and most of this car(ignore the fact that someone chopped out the entire floor). Yes, I could have restored most of it back to original, but then I wouldn't have been able to build the 49 Concept custom that was my dream car back in 2001. If this car was in better shape I wouldn't have taken it in this direction. Anyway, it's a good thing that you don't have the same likes and tastes as I do ... makes the world a more interesting place and guys can keep building rides that they love. Hope we can still be friends! Cheers Nick.

Hey Everyone! For now we’re back to my ransom style videos until I find a replacement camera for the one that went belly up. Sorry bout that! Nick

I'm glad you customized the car and made it like a restored. I can't wait for the finished product. You have earned a new subscriber, Nick!
I meant restomod..
Hi Dwayne, thanks for the SUB!
I think small indicator / park / side lights would look better than additional vents and be more keeping with the older car looks

I appreciate the support Lance. Just strive to put out quality content.
Awesome fabrication!
I think a nice indicator looks nicer than a venthole, but I´m shure you will create the right thing.
Yes to the front corner detail. You could even disguise a modern fog light / DRL in there. Cheers again 🇦🇺
Hi Nick and Dad 👊
The inlets might look cool a little smaller and lower so that the grill bar can sit above them 🧐
👍👍👍excellent build keep the videos coming👍👍👍
Thanks, will do!

Great point!
I would french fog lamps in the front corners . Love your incredible builds .
Cool, thanks
Man it looks good. For the hole in the bottom corner do what you want because it will look beautiful after you are finished with it
Thank you!
That turned out awesome
Thanks Stanley, I try my best.

I like the design without the vent/hole better ;)
Great content!!!

Use an amber fog light to break up the front instead of a mesh grill insert
I think the vent should match the curve of the grill opening. Or put a round light centered with the head lights.
Not crazy about the grill idea. You just amaze me young man.
Thanks for the feedback. We're still playing :D
For the vents, how about a shape similar to the grill opening with a bar in the middle. Or, replicate half the grill shape on each side vent.
What if you created a bumper instead of the center grille piece that wraps around and covers the joint between the upper and lower fender. Could still do a smaller vent under the bumper.
That might be a possibility! Thanks Mickey

Absolutely fantastic wow you are an artist I am learning so much
Thank you! Cheers!
front is really looking good....can't wait for the next video!
Thanks 👍

Thanks, thats a good plan!
Leave the corners. There's beauty in the simplicity of the curves.
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!

My gut is telling me the same thing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Christian.
Sorry for repetition - comments didn't post
That's alright KaddleMan!
Mercedes Benz front headlights would look nice
Nice haircut man
Hey, thanks!
Nick, Will the light feature along the center of the bottom body continue all the way across the center of the grille? Just a thought!
That would be cool! For this design the feature only wraps around the rear. Thanks for watching I appreciate your support!!
The vent shape you proposed is not similar to any other cut out. Why not have the vent circular or oval
Playing with ideas, that was the first one. Thanks for the suggestion!
The air vent looks slightly too tall.
I really hate the vent idea. It just looks all wrong. I round set of fog lights there would look much better.
Thanks for the suggestion!! Might just do that.
Instead of a mesh in the corner how about a turn signal or running light fixture similar to a mustang 🤷🏻♂️
Interesting idea!
