- Originally booked for 46233, 46115 was at the head of the latest Cumbrian Mountain Express in its place from Carnforth to Carlisle and back to Farington Junction.
With a fairly stiff south west wind I changed the planned first shot on the day from Ais Gill to Dent Head, where the tall trees shelter the hillside from the worst of the wind. conveniently, about 30 seconds into the shot the sun came out and stayed out for the next few minutes which made the light on the tour all but perfect. The Scot looked and sounded in good form with plenty of steam to spare as it headed towards Blea Moor Tunnel.
There was now roughly 100 minutes to get to a second viewpoint, which in this case was Pleasington, reached just as the tour was approaching Blackburn which gave me a few minutes to set up. 46115 eventually left Blackburn 5 minutes early and again sounded good as it headed downhill from Cherry Tree towards Hoghton.
