Thanks to Lightailing for sending me the kit. If you are interested in buying the viking village light kit here is an affiliated link to their site www.lightailing.com/?ref=Goldfyre They will be having a pretty massive black friday sale with 50% off on all items in the store. After Black Friday on the 25th & 26th they will be having 40% off sale on all items.
Amazing to see a cartoony wolf head costume piece used in an unironically cool warrior, it being cartoony also makes it still fit with the not super serious vibe lego has. Seeing a piece that seems too specific to one context used in another is one of my favourite things
Your berserker has been one of my favorite minifigures of yours for so long. I just recently got ny hands on the specter and big bad wolf CMFs and so I finally recreated it using the barbarian body, legs, and face. Love your content and I look forward to Saturday’s video. Keep it up!
I'm not much of a roman history guy but these guys sound sick after reading a little blurb about them just now. I should really make some skirmisher customs.
Dude it looks so awesome with that light kit, I’ve never did lights either. I’m definitely interested in playing with some lights. As always you make some cool custom figs.
I’ve never paid much attention to modern light kits - but seeing your video - wow - the atmosphere! It works so well for village/ encampment style sets, like this. The contrast of warm light and blue light is perfect!
I got the whole original Viking line and the village. Using the smaller boat with the set looks really good. Also the more fantasy elements being the dragons add a lot of color to the scene. Imo the village fits really well with the original theme. All I need is actually to pick up the 3-1 set but the ship just isn't gonna be up to par with the original sets ships. I think I'll moc that.
Maybe you should add a Viking Castle and wall around the village. I mean, what if the Black Falcons find out there are still Northmen in their territory.
Theres 2 expansion segments instructions on Rebrickable that go perfect with this set. I put them in and i display it with my Toothless moc. I call my village Berk.
I've been building action figure sized characters for years, mostly Warhammer 40k and some mythological, but this set made me start going crazy on bricklink for a full on viking world moc. Planning to build a World Tree and a bigger vilage around it, so hyped haha. Also building a gigant version of Fenrir using the chima wolf bigfig headpiece, pretty hyped about finishing that one too.
My first set I put lights in was monster fighters haunted House. It looks really cool and I bring it out every October. Buying light systems is pretty much a requirement when I purchase a new set.
Well I certainly called you getting a sponsor haha!, congrats! 😁, the like the figures you added especially the Biserker!, and your absolutely right the lights add a whole new life to the set!, have a great day man and congrats once again:)
@@Goldfyrecan the lights be selected by the user or it an all or norhing deal? What I mean is can I buy this kit and leave the water ones out when installing them?
I really love your videos. I broke my arm so I cant really expand my lego world for one month but your videos are help me to get trought that situation. So thank you for your very quality content.
@@Goldfyre thanks my friend I really want to see more videos from you :]. And I wanted to ask you, I want to buy a new set and I have two options the new lion castle and the Rivendell set what do you think I should buy? The Lion castle would be usefull for my rouge knight army and the rivendell set would be usefull for my elf and forestman army.
The set does look great. I’ve got my fingers crossed for it as a Christmas present. I’ve recently made a small moc scene using the similar cape you used for the wolf but in black (from an old Harry Potter set - will be posting about it soon). I think the wolf fig looks awesome. I made a barbarian for my old Viking village moc, it’s a must for any half decent Viking set!
Looks like it's you who convinced me to give lightkits a try. I have a tallneck to build and that's the one kit I felt would be amazing with lights because of the games. I'll have to check it out.
@@Goldfyre It took a while, but I finally got my kit and built it. It's amazing. Great instructions, telling me what to remove and then put back, powerful leds, everything looks great on my Tallneck.
I like to think the current Viking sets are set long after the events of 2005 Lego Vikings lore wise, all the monsters have been long dead, faded into myth. Now the current Vikings live in a "Bland" world with no real threats. So they're not as warlike as their ancestors.
Great ideas! I loooove the wolfshead berserker. What legs and hair did you use for the dane axe warrior lady? And is the btcher the same as the barista /blacksm8th?
Yeah the butcher is a slight torso reuse :) And the hair for the dane ax lady is from malfoys mom i think, from harry potter. The legs are from a star wars fig. i want to say a mandalorian.
I'm sorry, did you say $130? Where are you getting this set for $130? At the time of publishing this video, the current price is $179. That's almost $30 more than the original $150. Where the hell are you getting this set for less than the original price when its about to go out of production and its a hard to find set to begin with?

Great minifig customization, I especially love the berserker!
Some light kits can be really good!
Absolutely amazing love the butcher fig

Love how you tied this to the lore!!:D

Amazing
This is amazing, I’m getting the village soon and I’ll have to try these upgrades.
Enjoy the set it's so gooood!
Making good content as always
I don't want to spend 130 bucks on a lego set, but I might have to try after seeing this. It is a great value for sure.
Nice work
😁

yeah idk either it looks cool tho, bioluminescence maybe lol

"TO VALHALLA!" - the vikings at the start of a battle
I wonder if you could make custom figs of the Norse gods (not the Marvel versions, the ones from the Eddas)
I am doing this to my set if I get it

Now that there is so many residents of the village, the village itself needs more houses 😂😂

I don't like the ending of this video I can't click on the other videos I've already watched them all again and again :-)

The female mini figs need dresses…
I mean all the females he made were warriors and I don’t know if a dress is very practical for battle
