Not exactly a crusty reveal but the D&D CMF designers were sure expecting rangers fans to be disappointed if they're not birdmen players themselves. The legs of the bard is meant to compliment the ranger's torso for a complete leather armor look.
Thanks so much! I know there is a lot of videos like this out there so that means a lot that it’s the best you have ever seen! Out of curiosity what makes it stand out? Just so I know what to keep doing!
@BrickingUpBrad Always nice when a creator that asks for interaction actually interacts with the comments. What I think makes your video that good: 1. You gave constructive criticism and didn't just say it's awesome for the sake of potential freebies or compensation potentials. You didn't love the Eagle and you said it out loud. 2. You used your own voice. I'm so sick of the AI vids which are nails on chalkboard for me. 3. Your camera visuals, panning at the start, and overall video production. 4. The music didn't drown out your voice too much. It worked pretty well. 5. The number one reason I enjoyed the video is because you demonstrate exactly what is advertised in the title. You set out to make some customized mini figs and the results are appealing. The figs turned out better than many of the original ones! Keep up the good work. Makes me want to make content myself! That good.
For your dark archer, you could add the arms from the d&d figure tarsha the witch to that viking torso (think its been done many times) but looks amazing
Love the look of these rangers they all look awesome, but my personal favorite is the purple one since purple is my favorite color. Please continue to make these, I'd love to see what else you can come up with.
The purple one came out a lot better than I was expecting! I definitely am thinking about doing more! I have some ideas for figures I would like to change!
The first one is nice (if only you'd given him a yellow head). I also like the Black Falcon one but that's because I made similar ones (just didn't exchange the torso from the falconess).
Honestly I did a mix of head colors because I liked how it looked for each figure. I was doing skin tones for a lot of the DND ones so they would match the other ones from the series!
Being a ranger myself, I really like this video! I love rangers for the same reasons you do lol. My favourite one is def the dark blue elf! Im actually working on a video for the rangers of my fantasy world hehe
Seeing how you arranged your parts collection immediately inspired me to do the same thing similarly I used to have all of my guys sorted by race and faction, but now I sort them by specific torsos, legs, and heads. And if a race, like the Ninjago Serpentine for example, is mostly/entirely made up of parts specific for them, I put them in their own space (I mean, I did that to my other factions too but I now narrowed it down to a few)
I'd really love to see a complete Lego stop&motion movie including only these figures. I mean they actually look like as adventurers. I recommend you to write a story and create it. I know it's very hard work and takes lots and lots of time (I'm actually a writer and I've really thought of writing script for a fantasy movie), but these figures and their details deserve much more. This video and the rangers were excellent work. I'm waiting for more 😜
😂😂😂 someone else told me it sounded like one of there notifications and it confused them too😂 I just was looking for a sound that sounded like when you pick up something in a video game and thought it worked lol
Love this. Wondering if you built your parts box(hoods, shields, etc) through Pick a Brick or if they are all cherry picked from first run sets and cmfs. Bravo.
I mixture of cmfs, PAB orders, bulk lots, bricklink, and just getting tons of castle figures. I army build so a lot of parts have come from me doing an army then taking them apart.
i've seen way too many people use the bard legs on the aarakocra ranger torso, but it doesn't look good. those rogue legs are so much better, it's a shame they're so prohibitively expensive.
Yeah I definitely don’t like how that looks. But I agree the dark green looks so much better. I might try to see if there are any other options when it comes to dark green legs
That hairpiece idea for the ork I may borrow. I have a pair of the trolls and the CMF Orks. And, while I can't make the ranger, I might use the hairpiece to set one of the Orks apart from the other. RIght now it's simply a different colored hollow stud, to keep the matched honor guard look. But, I can then remove the cape for use elsewhere and have an Ork leader plus strong Ork warrior attendant.
Most of these were awesome. I find an issue with quiver + cape. Maybe LEGO will make a fancy (and massable) plastic quiver and cape combo (or quiver and half-cape) I didn't like the dragon much, but hey. We came here for rangers. Liked the ranger torso and druid torso rangers best. The black ranger and Black Falcon are great (love that hood!) You should have tried Tasha as well. Her torso and legs make for a great assasin / ranger / mercenary - with a blakc quiver and bow and a black hood.
@@BrickingUpBrad I know she's more rogueish, but I saw a lot of people use her for mercenaries / archers as well . I plan to make 12 ish bow men for a faction (maybe black knights xD )
Honestly I have been buying minifigures for a while for armies. I always buy extras of every castle cmf figures Lego makes. And I will just order minifigure parts from pab and bricklink with the idea of making figures like these. After getting stuff like that for a while I decided to just sort it all out into the collection I have!
@BrickingUpBrad I like the cape that comes with the halfling druid... unique leaf shape AND it's brown/green reversible?! And the hood piece with the antlers would go good on some kind of elves mounted on reindeer... im looking at you Santa's sleigh set 🎅🦌👀
@@BrickingUpBrad Now I may nerd-out about D&D a bit, but making the Dragonborn a Wizard wasn't a bad idea. A party full of melee-focused character (in this case Rangers) might encounter a mage that can't be hit by arrows so another Spellcaster to fight them instead is a good cover lol
I made a video on a different CMF I made a ranger I would like you to check it out! This video made me think of non armored soldiers and more of the forest side of fantasy castle.
My favorites are the halfling druid torso in combination with the goat herders legs and the purple ranger (tiefling torso). For the dark blue Ranger (the elven ranger) it could be nice to use the new "open" hood or the wolf mask from the ninjago "wolf warriors", both are dark blue and the purple or red of the mask could fit with the color of the torso.
Yeah really wished they had done the ranger as a different race! I would have even been fine with like a gith. Just not something that used a molded head.
@@BrickingUpBrad this one is a little on me because when I heard there was a ranger I honestly expected it to be Drizzt so the disappointment was really strong when I found out it wasn't.
The first ranger is my favorite, but this was such a cool project!! Great work. Never thought I’d like all purple as much as I did!
Thank you! I definitely love that first one to! Right the purple one is actually really good😂
I know its not a ranger, but you cooked with the High Dragonborn Priest. That torso is perfect with the golden arm
I will hope for more rangers like dnd old tv show
That would be cool!
@@BrickingUpBrad yeah very cool my idea and i will hope for more races like tabaxis, dragonborns, aarakocras from D&D

Not exactly a crusty reveal but the D&D CMF designers were sure expecting rangers fans to be disappointed if they're not birdmen players themselves.
The legs of the bard is meant to compliment the ranger's torso for a complete leather armor look.
True. I honestly prefer dark green legs to the ones from the bard to go with that ranger torso.
It’s an aracocra
At the next CMF Series a new Wolfpack Figure is coming!
I saw! So excited!!!
@@BrickingUpBrad yeah with unique wolf figure

Definitely have plans to do more! This was so much fun to make!
Love the Orc and fright knight ranger, very fitting look for them
Thank you! I am a big fan of how those turned out!
For the dark archer, you have to try an arm and leg swap with Tasha the witch. It works perfectly with that torso
I was going to but I didn’t have an extra of her for parting out yet.
Understandable. She was the one I found multiple of when I first found the cmf
Really loving those wings though..
Can think of quite a fair few sweet figs wanna build with them😆👌💯💯👍
Oh for sure!
@@BrickingUpBrad Definitely, yeah!
Is the quality of them as good as it looks?
They look stellar

Yeah I was thinking about those! They work really well!
Awesome figures, my favorite was the first ranger you made! I really love that dark orange torso.
Yeah Its really grown on me!
For the dragonborne ranger I just use the Bird ranger torso, the legs from the bard, the brown shoulder armor of the warlock and a quiver.

The Viking ranger is my favorite because I've already used that cape and legs with that torso to make some Elite Forestmen.
Right! Such a good combo!
Love all of these!!

Thank you! I’m actually really happy how he came out!
You have just showcased why Lego and DnD can work so well together.
Right!!!
Great Video! All of these Rangers look sick!
Appreciate it!
All of them look great, although my favorite might just be the dragon wizard. For that last ranger I would advise you to use the arms from the witch.
Her arms would definitely be perfect for that! The dragon wizard actually came out so well!
I'm hoping we're gonna get more dnd lineages like firbolg, tabaxi, kobold, kenku, goliath, etc.

So...just and a cape and hood and they're a ranger. Got it.
Yes
That's basically what I do for various Star Wars Jedi outfits to make mage minifigures.
The Fright Knight ranger might be improved with the arms of Tasha, unless you find that too much detail
Honestly I was thinking the same thing!
I got alot of dupes from the D&D minifigs set. I mixed them also to looks like other individuals
