- David's 2024 Land Cruiser First Edition has finally arrived! it's one of the first Land Cruisers to arrive at the Canadian dealership, and it looks amazing in Trail Dust color. This is a pre-delivery video to show you what the vehicle looks like when it has just landed - with all the wraps and protection materials still intact. Big thanks to Jim Pattison Toyota for making this happen, after waiting for many months for the allocation (special thanks to Andrew Fallows and Manish Bhopal). More details to follow after actually taking delivery of this beautiful truck. Stay tuned.

Congratulations David on your amazing Land Cruiser!
Congratulations David!! Enjoy!
Excellent choice David. None better than this for a great fishing trip. Enjoy!
That color looks great. But I agree the brown seats would've been better.
It looks great. I’m not sold on the 4 banger.
@@beri232 I agree with this.
I got the exact same one last week. Love it.
Best suv I have had so far. Way more power than I expected. Mpg so far after to miles about 23 mpg.
Everyone who sees it loves the color. Drive is so comfortable.
Wow, looks amazing. Congrats and enjoy your new LC FE!!! Can’t wait for the videos, especially the panel gaps measurements 😅 🎉
I like your professional style. You don’t get too excited. You mentioned all the pros and cons, even your own car. 👍🏼 (BTW nothing is perfect)
Congrats David. There is a Traildust at my local dealer pretty sharp. Loves the MR2 video the other day...I have been hoping for news for a while now..Thank you
Congratulations David! The truck looks great! Looking forward to more content.
Glad to know that something other than the Tahara plant is acceptable to you Dave. Mine was also built there, and is supposed to be at the dealer this week.
Brilliant car; congrats. I too wouldn't have considered this color before seeing the video, but I totally would now; it looked great, especially with the black accent trim/wheels, and I'm sure it looks even better in the metal. Too bad the brown leather seats aren't available in Canada since they would've complemented this mustard yellow exterior very nicely. Enjoy your awesome ride!
You must be thrilled! Congratulations David. I think here in the UK the first editions are also black leather so maybe brown is for domestic only.
Congrats on your 250! Glad you still kept your GX460.
congrats, nice ride and awesome color, very unique. its comforting to know your car was built in Japan, as not many cars are these days.
I remember when I bought my 2011 MDX and I noticed the J on the vin number, I swear, i thought I stroke gold..
Congrats David !!!
Nice truck. Stay with 33s. More proportional, better daily/on road handling and you won't lose axle gearing. You're not likely to be off roading much anyway it sounds.
I certainly second this. Put some Falken Wildpeaks AT4Ws on there and you'll have and excellent setup with great long-term reliability. Lot's of rotational mass in a 35" tire and the Prado's suspension components don't really look stout enough. Not likely a concern for most people because they'll do 35s just for show/looks, but not what I put on my light-duty rigs for reliability. Btw, the straps on the mudflaps are there to prevent the mudflap catching on the tire in reverse when off-road in challenging conditions.
David - I really would love to hear your updated owner impressions of your land cruiser. Specifically comparing it to your gx460's... I walked away from a deal on a new land cruiser premium today because I didn't think it was worth the price. Looking back at MSRP of around 64k for a gx460 - that thing felt like a lexus bank vault and worth the money. The land cruiser is a bit of an odd bird - the interior feels high quality but not "fancy". I'm a big fan of toyota hybrids but it just feels weird in the LC - its like a motor setup you would have in a cross over. Meanwhile the land cruiser has alot of body roll, while still fairly rough over certain bumps and felt like a truck - this unit I drove had 20" wheels and the tires were a bit high at 39psi. I think the standard KDSS in the 460 made a MUCH better on road feel. I get why people like the land cruiser - but if you're not going off road, it is absolutely overpriced in my opinion. I owned a gx470 several years ago and it was one of my favorite vehicles ever...
Congrats!! 🎉
Congratulations, David...I am so happy for you ..
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful! Looked at this color in person yesterday and it’s even better in person
Beautiful truck. I just can’t see these new vehicles with the hybrid and tech lasting 45 years or holding value like the good old Land Cruisers from years gone by. Only time will tell. Drive it like you stoled it 😊
Well you can always get a 80 Series, and with the spare money, update it(Would import a 5 Spd, manual tranny), and plenty leftover money for GASS
Congratulations. Beautiful. Toyota/ Lexus number 1. Amazing.
Congratulations, David! Looks great 🙂
Test drove this beast at my local dealer and that is the best Toyota i have driven in a long time
Excited for you David! I agree with you that we should have the option of the Java interior. Congrats!
Looks beautiful David. I agree with your sentiment on the brown interior. It was the sole reason I went with the 1794 when I purchased my Tundra
Awesome, David! I'm looking forward to many videos on this. Please try to break it. I'm very interested in buying one of these😄.
Looks badass, congrats man!
Great for handling the jungle of Vancouver 😄Pretty big gaps, curious to see what they are.
It’s so rude how manufacturers don’t deliver the “first editions” first lol. Ive had my 1958 for 3 weeks today. Nice ride, David!
Might as well nickname it the Ironic Edition 😜 that said, hope Dave enjoys it
The parts for the first edition have to be put on at the port... A lot of supply chain issues with these accessories
@@KirkKreifels Ah, I thought we were done with supply chain issues by now
I put down a 3K deposit on the First Edition in August of 2023, Still waiting… 😢
@@TimothyMcGrath-ub1bj Well, you’re gonna love it lol. I love mine even though it’s just bare bones. It is so much smoother and quieter inside than I expected and the power is amazing. SO much better to drive than my 23 4runner was.
David-I had a 1975 Corolla KE30 (in 1989-1991) as a student in Australia with a very similar colour.
Congratulations, enjoy!
In 1984, I purchased a new 1984 Toyota Tercel from Downtown Toyota, the predecessor Toyota dealership to Jim Pattison Toyota in downtown Vancouver. The Tercel was a good car.
Congratulations David!
The fact that you can not load up the trunk because the battery pack is there is a deal breaker.
You can load the “trunk” you just need to be careful with the storage compartment lid. Easy fix though.
Congratulations David!!! Beautiful vehicle
Just a tip, you should vinyl wrap the mirrors to protect them.
Congratulations David !! Hello from Germany!
I like the shape of the new LC, curious about your choice of first edition vs GX Overtrail. I’m leaning GX! Look forward to hearing your thoughts as you get time with the new truck.
I feel like once you spend this kind of money you gotta go GX. LC trim w/o the premium package otherwise IMO.
I would have enjoyed seeing the engine compartment, David.
Congrats! I hope to see some driving videos soon.
Fantastic David congrats.
Looks great and like the color. Would you do a tour of the port of Vancouver. Could be interesting to see arrival process and install of port features.
I have been there multiple times but unfortunately, I am not allowed to video it...
Congrats David - I think this color looks great and I hope you enjoy it. In my view I like this vehicle better than the GX550 - I still can't understand why Toyota removed the rear seat climate controls and overhead air vents on the GX550 Overtrail trim but managed to leave them in for this car - both these vehicles come in two-row only configurations. Perhaps its because they sell this new LC with 3 rows in Japan but the Overtrail has two rows everywhere. Of course, that begs the question of why did they remove the third row on the Overtrail?
Enjoy, looking forward to your future videos!
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks so much Kirk! I should drive it to Florida to visit you!
Looks great David and awaiting your future personal experiences with the LC
I agree the brown seats would have looked amazing in this vehicle
Congrats David.
I hope the engine stays solid and not create any problems to you
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful good luck Dave
Congratulations David. Enjoy the new LC🎉🎉
Really Nice!! Enjoy:)
Congratulations David!!! I prefer the Heritage Blue, but this Traildust color is nice too!!!
Thanks David, is there a way to increase the hybrid engine braking. The only negative I have found with the LC is the engine braking is poor if you live in the mountains. I come from V8s in an LR4 and Grand Cherokee. Riding your brakes down icy mountain passes is dangerous. I try to use the manual shift to create more engine braking but the displacement/weight ratio is so small has little effect. As a hybrid maybe get the same effect by setting the hybrid system to absorb more downhill energy?
Great looking truck, Congratulations!!!
David, With the contrasting light grey roof, this colour looks great! 🤩Having said that, I still want my Land Cruiser in two-tone Heritage Blue with a 2TR-FE engine. My only concern about the Land Cruiser 250 being built in the Hamura plant is whether there will be enough production capacity for the upcoming Land Cruiser FJ. 😉
Congratulations. I live about 5 blocks from Jim Pattison Toyota 🎉
USA has the java seats available. I have seen multiple allocations with it recently, albeit rare.
Next mid cycle update should offer optional 3.0L inline 6 Turbo and 3.0L Hybrid as options.
Great looking truck and I cannot wait to see more of it. Not sure why they use the piano black plastic on an off road vehicle. Why would you let the dealer ruin the look of the back by putting a dealer sticker on the back?
Beautiful rig. Congratulations!
Just keep the OEM tires. We all don't off-road as much as we would want to.
Just some 20mm wheel spacers will transform the silhouette.
Since the new Tundra, I never understood why Toyota designs the most basic rock sliders. They can make rock sliders with platforms for stepping, like running boards.
Moreover, a welder/fabricator can just weld on some extra tubing and diamond plate on top, to make a flat grippy stepping surface.
But I doubt you're going to step that far into the aftermarket, so maybe just trade somebody for their OEM running boards -- iirc, you did the same thing with the Tundra
That's my favorite color I saw it in person in the San Juan mall.
Beautiful! ❤
Looks great!
Congrats David! I’ll wait until probably 2029 and if the reliability is still great and still made in Japan.I’ll order a 2030 for my start of retirement! P.S. check into some flat sliders, but may have to wait awhile ,since it’s a new model
Great choice! Toyota new styling is very good lately with the new redesign models
It really is a beautiful design. Grats indeed!
Congratulations 🎉 David ‼️ 12:14
David will you be doing some sort of underbody rust proofing? If so! Which method?
Hi David, congratulations to you for the new toyota land cruiser. Can you please update on what's going on with toyota grand highlander news we getting to hear regarding the hold or pause on production, recalls or discontinue due to air bag failure. Thanks
Isn’t that same interior brown called “Java” and also offered in the mid Land Cruiser trim grade as a part of a premium package?
I would definitely go with 35s David they would look great plus others who put 35s on said it didn’t really affect the gas mileage at all which is amazing. Just ask TRD Jon! 33s just look too diminutive
Congratulations mr David 🎉
congrats David, hope you can tell us more about this car. You should get GX550 and Lx oneday brand new
David- have you experienced any motor issues? Several reports on Forums the T24A-FTS built at Aichi Prefecture plant has some quality issues. Please report on your experience so far.
What kind of issues have they experienced? So far, it's been good on my side...
Hey wonder if you would rather get a 2014 4 runner 250km for 20k or 2024 runner new?
Nice truck. Auto dealership that put their name on a vehicle is a deal breaker for me.
Any bets how long David will keep this?
My guess is- 6 months
Congratulations!
Congrats David
Hello Sir,nice color and review, what have you heard about the fortuner? I know its not in the american market but i see you are near to people in japan always interviewing them,if it comes in the sane platform what will be the reason not to buy it instead of the prado?i mean even the same engine, can be 4x4 also
This is nice!!
Dave , i thought you are getting the Lexus 2024 GX 550 Overtrail ?
I may be getting that too....stay tuned
Glad you decided to buy the Land Cruiser. I’m aiming for one of these too.
Did you notice the label on the side of the cargo floor, which you can only see when the tailgate is open and which advises of a maximum weight limit of 120 pounds on the floor. I guess it’s there to stop people from putting too much weight on the floor and damaging the frame/housing that the battery pack is housed in.
Let me take look at that...
No, that weight limit applies only to the storage compartment cover.
@@AutomotivePress l just saw another blog, and this RUclipsr this time focused the camera on the label and l was able to read it. Unlike before where this other RUclipsr made a comment , which lead me to write my previous comment. In summary this label read that the board could “break if over 60kg objects were placed on it”, and “could dislocate if a load is applied “ onto the “back end of the board”. Also that the board could be removed and it’s hooks could break if the board is removed incorrectly. Is this board the part of the floor(the lid) where there is an underneath compartment for tools etc?
@@Marks.Reviews I don't have the car yet officially so let me take a look once I take delivery...
Since you do measurements of gaps and alignment etc, the driver side passenger door is off a bit. 4:30
GOOD luck.
I'm from the Philippines, and i am confused if i would ditch or retain the Prado part of the name, since it will be released as a Land Cruiser Prado in our country.
Im puzzled as to why Toyota insists on square wheel wells instead of round... like a tire. It requires larger than factory tires to begin to look good and causes clearance problems when you try to go up in size. The 4 Runner and now the Land Cruiser would look so much better with rounded wheel wells. IMHO.
Congratulations 🎊 👏🏻
Are those paddle shifters? Mine in US doesn't have that
Nice!!!🎉
Hey David, CX70 or a Landcruiser?!?
Nice!!
4 banger land cruiser😂
Congrats 🎊
Congrats.
That look just my Bronco Sport 2022 😊But bigger and very nice.
very nice!
