Bill is a lovely man and often in Bobby's shadow, I adore Bobby, his voice is sublime but Bill was the recognisable sound of the Righteous Brothers and deserves more credit for the work he did producing their hits. He seems such a lovely guy too giving up his career to raise his son when he needed his dad, a true family man and in interviews I've seen is also funny and modest, most of all he seems to have been like a big brother to Bobby 💖💖
What's really sad is what my daughter said to me one day in the car. "Mom, just wait twenty years and my music will be your oldie music". That is not music she listens to. It's just noise.
@keithkiekebusch6116 That one's absolutely beautiful too. I can remember sitting on the floor listening to our huge Zenith 4:25 4:25 record player just spellbound by their singing. I'm 68 now so that was a long time ago. But I'm still spellbound by the Righteous Brothers. I'll probably never get over it. Hope not.
One of the biggest times of my musical career was backing up the Righteous Brothers in 1965 in Reno Nevada when I played with the Boogie Kings. They were sensational!
@michaelpollard9791 That makes me so envious! Must have been unforgettable, wish I'd seen them but they hardly ever came to the UK, I can only remember seeing them once on Ready, Steady, Go, I think, but now I discovered them far too late I could listen to them 24/7. Truly great!
Bobby had to do the extremely high parts at a lower level but he did it with total harmony and complete perfection. For almost 40 yrs later, these guys sounded fabulous.
I grew up listening to them on station WLS on a transistor radio. Would wait tell they played a Righteous Brothers song. Its so wonderful today to just listen to them sing over and over. Never can hear to much of Bill and Bobby.
WLS!!! On my transistor radio, too! These guys are timeless, legends. Beloved by so many and through the years. No one could ever re-do their originals as well.
Judging by this and their stellar performance at the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, Bill and Bobby still had it--I'd loved to have seen the entire show. RIP, Bobby Hatfield.
In 1965, at the "Orange County World Teen Fair" I was invited back stage by a friend. There I was with The Dixie Cups, Jay & Americans, Sam The Sham and the Righteous Brothers. I had a chance to visit a bit with all of them, and it was a -pleasant experience all the ways around.
These two were incredible together and there will never be another duo like them. And Bobby's singing never changed to me, I have never heard another artist who sang with such love, passion and emotion! When he sang I didn't just hear the music, I felt it. Rest in peace Bobby, you are missed more than you ever thought possible!
When the music is from the heart , it touches , for all to feel simply breathtaking tickles my guts to this day , dedicated this song from ghost and Demi to my daughters mom ,we parted but my heart still loves her , as a friend always ... ✨😸🌹✌️🙏💙 , sorry I would sing this song ,no pun intended unchained melody was dedication , such irony in this song though... ,🤔🥀😿✌️💪💎💙🙏
Saw them once way back in the day I was in front row seats wow!. Bobby sang "Unchained Melody." and when he hit that high note some big black lady yelled out sing it baby! we all loved it. Best singers ever in my book.
@@marymichael1211 Thank you and yes I feel very lucky to ever have been there and seen them sing. Their voices were a gift from God not like this stuff today :(
@utatriebel2211 Bobby died because he was in need of bypass surgery, 95% blockage in at least 1 artery. That problem is caused by genetics and/or diet.
I re enjoy the brothers singing u lost the feelen I almost cried it brought memories to me growing up since the 60s I loved that kind of music I am so grateful
@Thomas Stewart hi did u like their music as much as I did to me growing up I thought they were great thank u for reaching to me have a wonderful Saturday
I've been a fan since 1963 !! After dozens and concerts, I got to see this exact song performed many times - I also made a point of getting backstage. Bobby and Bill, both 61 at the taping of this show - let's just say I know road takes it toll on ALL performers. You couldn't find two nicer guys in the music industry. I was talking to Bob after a concert once and I asked him how many times he had sung "Unchained Melody." He just leaned over and said every time they wanted to hear it.
This concert was at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, I was lucky enough to attend and got to see them , the following year Bobby passed away.....he was without a doubt, the best Soloist ever , he could sing any song and make it his own...RIP. BOBBY...you are missed ❤❤❤
Unchained Melody was first make popular in 1955 and sung by Al Hibbler. I loved it then and would never have guessed Tha a man named Bobby Hatfield would send that same song to a world unfamiliar with that song and bring it to unbelieveable heights...Thanks Bobby for making that song unforgettable to so many...Howie Wolcott

Wish we had music like this today! The Righteous Brothers are rhe BEST! Beautiful harmonies and great voices!!!
Bobby was amazing, you made so many people happy in your lifetime ❤

Just saying that when these Brothers from another mother sang together, they were magic, and so loved! by their fans!
They compliment each other so well. Fantastic ❤
What wonderful coordination, even after all these years. This song is eternal. All generations will love it.
No doubt the best love song ever written. The Righteous Brother's, perfect harmony, no other duo will ever be able to take their place. Love them.
I gotta disagree.. Bobbies solo Unchained Melody just barely edges this song out

these guys still looks so good even when they are old.
Bobby is the very best singer I have ever heard.
And I am 75 years and heard hundreds of singers thru the years.
The Righteous Brothers are an acclaimed duet delivering great music, with heart for years. God Bless them...
Even in their 60's they have the power to do this song justice. No gimmicks just their voices
Still today, I enjoy listening to this wonderful duo
Blue-eyed soul at its finest. xox
I will never forget seeing them in person
Bobby had to do the extremely high parts at a lower level but he did it with total harmony and complete perfection. For almost 40 yrs later, these guys sounded fabulous.
As a Tenor, young Bobby hit notes far above the Tenor range. As he got older he no longer hit Mezzo-Soprano notes. He aged to normal.
@@amcasanave It happens to the best of them but I always thought his voice unique. I'm partial to tenors.
