    Can anyone explain, how the actual head is developed,Ha ( curve V ) even if discharge is zero ?

      Apply eular equation to calculate head developed by the pump considering blade geometry,It is He=A-bQ where Q is flowrate.at Q =0 at the starting pump has some head.that ia called shut off head.actual curve is parabolic.basically at the starting of pump, centrifugal head must be given to the impeller to suck the liquid and start the flow.
