Great! Thanks for the content. Pls also do the video about PPK process with L2 and Agisoft (to combine photogrammetry with LiDAR), would be very interesting.

Hey thanks for the great video! I was just wondering if you are going to do episode 2. It has been 2 months since this was posted, and I'm really interested in learning more about this L2.

Thank you for the detailed info. Can the L2 do tree count ? If you survey a large area full of trees In the processing software could you do auto tree count ?
    Thanx again

The DJI L2 is quite an amazing lidar unit. I am going to be testing tree counts this week and next week with the L2 and the Inertial Labs XT32-M2X (a very awesome lidar unit as well). With leaf on vegetation, it will be very very tough regardless of the unit used for trees below a certain diameter. I have a hand held unit from Greenvalley I will be testing as well to merge the ground based lidar with the Aerial lidar to get a complete data set. I will be showing the quality of the data sets with and without the handheld unit. Then as soon as the leaves drop, I will do another test. The trees should be very nicely defined by lidar without the need for a handheld unit. But I will share all of that once I get the data. DJI Terra does not do tree analysis. But the Greenvalley Lidar360 has a forestry module that should be pretty awesome. They just came out with version 8 that has some really nice feature upgrades.

Great idea to test on that site over time.

Can you explain what datum you used and RTK connection to the drone. For example what base did you use and what coordinate system used. And then for the control points?

I know DJI likes to use WGS84 elispoid. Did you use that for the base and GCPs?

Hello, great video. Looking forward to Episode 2 ! By the way, can you use the M350+L2 handheld (without flying) as a terrestrial scanner ? Can you start the acquisition if the drone is not in flight ?

Using the L2 on M300 or M350 as a terrestrial scanner would likely not work. Most of your Terrestrial scanners are 360 scanners. The FOV on the L2 would not be conducive to terrestrial scanning. The Inertial Labs XT32 would be a much better choice for Aerial, SLAM and Mobile scanning. I hope to have part 2 out soon.

@@DroneMappingTools Thanks for the info, I will look at the XT32. I'm sure there are far better option for mobile scanner, but when you have the occasion, could you try starting an acquisition with the L2 without flying and let me know it DJI allows it or not ?

Great content! When you get a chance can you show us how to find an NGS benchmark with an Emlid receiver?

Absolutely. You mean how to stake out an NGS Benchmark? If so I will make that for you tomorrow :)
