They needed to give Xiang Liu more in script. So it would show that he knew her spirit in shell,also about her knowing mer song, kissing her and at least once showing his feelings for her. Even letting them be together a short time before his death.😓
We still have to wait for the second season. Although I feel like the scriptwriters could have chopped even more of their interactions and things that XL did in the novel.
