Chris, just my two cents coming from a veterinarian on the 11 foot new alligator, if he has a respiratory infection as you noticed in your first contact with him when you and Ron trapped him, he had sone nasal discharge. This might be the underlying issue creating the fatigue and failure to thrive. I feel the injectable antibiotics would be the best course of action. Oral antibiotics would definitely be a stresser on the animal to administer and I feel would not have the impact that injectable meds would have. I also agree on not stressing him out at all which is another reason to do IM antibiotics. Your doing some great work and I wish you the best. The prarie dogs are one of my favorites but im warming up to Akila. What a fair tempered croc she is.
Akila is coming right along! She learns so quickly! I'm glad the 11 footer survived the night. I'm really sorry he's so ill. I hope he recovers completely and has a happy long life. Big Mac ate! That must be such a happy moment! You have really raised awareness for these beautiful ancient reptiles. Much like sharks, they get a bad rap. They are just like most animals; trying to survive and deal with humans in their environments. "It's not all fun, just playing with big alligators and stuff...," You know you aren't in Kansas anymore when you hear that statement! 😂😂 Thanks for the update!!
@@GatorChris_ wonder if you are considering paying a visit to see your old client crocs aries and miss toothy? They have become super lively since at chandlers facility. Yet you knew aries as the pleasure to be with most of the time croc, miss toothy on the other hand really is a typical cuban crocodile 🐊 and will tell people to back off from her.
Can't stop smiling for Big Mac. So genuinely happy. Akila is so awesome and just beautiful. Thank you for keeping us updated and for all you do. I'm glad there are people like you both! I have been promoting your web site and vlogs to all of my pen pals and friends. Several have tuned in and love different animals. We talk about them and argue over which one is "best."
O my goodness I love akila so much. I can't say this enough but a huge thank you to savannah, Danny and Mike for akila. I'm glad to see everyone doing okay. I hope you and gabby have an awesome Friday
I remember the girls Steve Irwin had were also chill..but not the makes 😂. All were wild though but the girls mostly relied on the males to protect them from Steve ;)
Good to see big guy alive! Thanks alot Chris for explaining! Akila is my favorite crocodillian😅 Her behavior seems very gentle for a croc! Thanks alot Chris and Gabby for all the work and this longer video was a real treat!❤️🐊👍
At least big Mac has eaten some chicken 👍 I hope that the other sick gator will soon follow his example. Poor guy... 😢 Thanks for sharing! You guys are doing an amazing job! I love watching the prairie dogs eat. They are so cute. Poppy doesn't need food, lots of cuddles that's what he needs!! 🤗
Amazing how much you care about the sick alligator. You guys are such an example for everyone. If people were so compassionate about other people the world would be a different place. Thank you so much for caring for this beautiful animal. He's very lucky to be with you, like we say in Dutch "Hij is met z'n gat in the boter gevallen" (translation of that would be "he fell with his ass in butter" (which obviously doesn't sound good in English 🤣, it means that he's so lucky to be with people who care). Fingers crossed that he makes it in the long term but if he doesn't at least he got the best chance that he could have and it won't be due to lack of trying to save him. Great work, keep it up! 👍
lol Shippo and Hazel 🤣🦊 Hazel got flipped 6:19 Plastic pollution is a massive issue poor Alligator I remember reading a article about how Crocodilians eat fishing gear and pass away, Whatever is going on this is so sad 💔🐊
A few seconds before Gabby laughed about his legs, I noticed them and thought „Wow, those little stumps. Looks like Gimli … I can’t take him seriously like that.“ 😂 I love your vlogs. And I learn a lot about alligators and crocodiles!
It’s just amazing to see these animals live in such a comfy place with the right care! Been following you guys a long time, the knowledge, skills, every interaction with the animals, are amazing and good lessons for the public!! ❤❤❤❤
Snap. Me too. I've been so worried about both of the new big boys. Terrible to get so choked up over an alligator so far away from me (in South Africa). Was very glad I live alone and nobody could see my foolishness.
That whole Poppy situation is Disney Ready! He's in his fur pants and would rather starve than miss getting his pets... it's just so funny how much he loves Chris!
I'm really rooting for the sick gator. Poor guy must have been through so much and has an opportunity for a better life now, he just has to heal back to normal🥺
So glad that their are people like you that don’t want kill alligators and crocodiles. It breaks my heart who do kill them. They are lucky to have a home with you guys ♥️🐊
Akila behaves as though she's been around Chris her whole life! Her entire being is so calm and attentive and so gentle. Chris, you truly are a Crocodillian Whisperer! You have a great future ahead with yours and Gabby's beautiful refuge. Now, I'm sending warm thoughts for your newest acquisition. I feel so sad for him. He's had a rough journey, but he made it to you.
Hooray for Big Mac!!! I’m so glad he ate. I hope the other two eat soon. I love all your other little critters but I am so glad you were able to get these gators and crocs. Thanks for putting your Amazon page on the web site. I was having trouble finding where to go for that. I like that because being retired I can’t afford much but I can buy something once a month or so.Have a great day!
I'm not sure of Florida laws, but here in Tennessee we can buy injectable Penicillin at our farm stores like Tractor Supply and the Co-Ops with out a prescription. Of course, I really don't know what type of antibiotic you need for gators but for our deer rescues, that is what we use when we can't get them into the vet over the weekends.
Hello there everyone. Wow Akila and Javier really taking food very nicely indeed. Well done. BigMac looks a lot better. Ate like a champ, and thats half the battle for his health and recovery won right there 🎉🎉. So glad that he's settling in and feeling more comfortable. I wonder how much damage he did to the vehicle he had a disagreement with? Yikes the new big guy looks even thinner now that its daylight and he's in clear water.
She seems like she's so happy where she is now with you Chris and your sanctuary thank you bless you for making it for these animals and rescue animals 😀❤
I had to help a friend administer antibiotics orally to a 14 foot Burmese python for a couple of weeks. She was a total sweetheart but it was an epic battle every day. Can't imagine trying that with a defensive alligator. We used a tube and syringe- crushed the meds and made a paste. Had to get the tube down her throat to squeeze the paste in. Fun times. You guys are saints.
Thank you for another great vlog its was great seeing you working with Akila again she's such a beautiful crocodile so glad to see Big Mac taking food that's awesome . The emus are so cute have you decided on the other ones name yet? Echo and ? I hope not Temu the Emu lol......I was happy to see Shippō stand up to Hazel & Poppy is to much with his pets 😂😂 appreciate you guys
Thanks for sharing Chris, catch 22 position, but still leaves you with that uneasy worry in the pit of your tummy. My thoughts are with you and Gabby ❤️
It is my belief that there is some fantastic energy surrounding both of you and your sanctuary and animals can feel it. I’m really not crazy, my experiences from working at vet clinics for not only domestic pets also birds , reptiles, exotics, and being a rescuer and foster for cats and kittens , and being an empath and being with people with animals and my own passion I come up with my opinions. Also, with your experience with gators I definitely believe you know exactly what you are doing and it is always in the best interest of the gators.🐊
I really enjoy this so much,I laughed at hazel pooping in front of the door because she's mad lol Glad to see all your animals and birds are doing well and I love poppy I still do enjoy watching you work with the gators Thank You once more for sharing your experiences😂❤🎉
Wow Akila Is Doing Amazing Great Job Chris... love love your vlogs most of all love your animals so much thanks Chris Gabby Fingers Cross he gets better
I don’t know more have I really stoped to get to learn about alligators untill I started watching your channel and seeing dedication and the love that you provide these creatures and the knowledge that you give me in regards to these creatures just phenomenal I have truly started to feel for these creatures and astonished at how resilient and strong they truly are and.
