THE HEAD OF THE TABLE IS ALWAYS EMPTY AT MY HOUSE IN HONOR OF MY FATHER. HE WAS A MARINE IN KOREA AND WAS KILLED THE DAY BEFORE MY FIRST BIRTHDAY. HE IS MISSED GREATLY EVERY DAY.
I pray that your father is resting in peace. I am from Korea and was lucky to have been adopted to a great family here in the USA. All vets have my respect, but Korean War vets have a special place in my heart. The Korean people are very thankful for all the War vets. I was lucky enough to go back to Korea and tour around. My mother and I went to the Korean War Museum. It is a very moving place. If you ever get a chance to visit Korea, you should go to the museum.
My dad is in this video. I cannot thank Trace and his team enough for putting this together. As hard as it was to see his picture, I know he would have been shocked and pleased that his service was recognized. When he came home from Korea he was treated very badly by some of the public so he kept his service to himself for many years. He slowly started to speak about it a little at a time as we got older. We always told him we were very proud of him and we were grateful for his service. He would have been touched by this recognition. To all who have served or are currently serving: thank you! To the families with loved ones in this video and to any family who has lost loved ones, we feel your pain. I pray The Lord will show His mercy to all of us with broken hearts.

My wife was confused because I set a place for my Dad who had recently passed away. 23 years of service. She went to pick it up and I simply said "no"... later she said she had never seen that look in my eyes before. It may not be the exact definition of why we set an empty chair but it made me feel better and closer to Dad. Miss you Dad, keeping your memories alive as long as I live.

@@shelly2599 I really don't understand why nobody handle this. Last year there were more than 30 US country singers and two famous British singer who wrote to me. After I chatted with the first one on Hangouts, I had known they are from a scam group from China, and I do believe they want to help Biden and Democratic Party to make a profit. I complained about that first one's English, he said he can use translate software to write. (what kind of logic?) And after that, he started to use perfect Simplified Chinese to chat. I didn't know that such a perfect translation software exists at all. His Simplified Chinese was just as of a native speaker's. The second person could not answer any question about country music. And the third one is the stupidest, I asked him to write down ""Hi, Gianni, I am Luka"" on a paper, and shoot a picture with his face. He did it, but the picture is fake, although he photoshopped the photos perfectly, the name of the star is Luke, not Luka. How is it possible, that a country singer doesn't know his name.
@@shelly2599 Unfortunately, most of them are bad guys, and they listen to China government attacking us from time to time. Thank you Trace Adkins for another amazing, beautiful song honoring our heroes! I’m the wife of a USMC veteran and the daughter of a USAF veteran, and a long line of brave men who served this beautiful country USA 🇺🇸 God bless you all! ♥️🥺🇺🇸
This song hits home for me because I swear it feels like just yesterday when my grandpa and his 82nd airborne buddies and friends and family sat down at his bbq and saluted the empty chairs 🇺🇸🇻🇮
As a military widow and soon to be military mom, I thank you with all of my heart for this beautiful and heartfelt song. God Bless and many thanks to those who Served, those who continue to serve and those about to serve. No amount of thanks is ever enough.
I heard this on Fox news, the tears ran down my face! My dad served on the front lines of WWIi yet he came home and raised my brother and I never speaking a word of the horrors he saw! God bless you daddy and all the men and women who fought so valiantly for our freedom! Wake the hell up America our freedoms are once again on the line! Remember those who fought so we could be free!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The line "they were soldiers long before they were men," fits right in with naim. Those boys were only 18 or 19. Not old enough to vote, but young enough to die for the USA.
On today of all days, as we should on everyday, let us remember in our prayers the brave men and women who sacrificed everything so that we might have a chance of a better life. Let us never forget them. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🪦 🇺🇸🙏🏻
My Grandfather was never the same after World War one. My dad world war 2. Veterans. My little brother joined the Navy. Always memories of them. Music that touched the hearts .I put empty chairs on my front lawn for Veterans day. Never forget.
Thanks for the song Trace! Just an old retired Army Master Sergeant here with 6 combat tours. God bless my brothers that didn't make it home, I miss you guys!
Those songs that Trace sings about the military are heart felt. I served in the US Navy 73-77. I can’t thank him enough for these songs especially Arlington. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Thank you Trace.
God understands our anger and he loves us anyway...I lost my youngest son Tommy, in 2005..even though I did everything that the Holy Spirit led me to do..we still lost our son..I was angry with God, but he never left my side..I know I will see my son again in heaven, and we will walk the streets of gold together, forever... Jesus is the prize, and my son is the icing on the cake..I love you Lord Jesus, and God the father, and God the Holy Spirit. 💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏
Roger. This song ranks next to.... Arlington... which is my middle name, shared with my veteran (deceased 17 Jan 1991) and my namesake son, currently, USCG. Me? US Army Airborne Special Operations Forces 1978-2009.) Lest We Never Forget. A-ATW. DOL.
Many years have gone by since Vietnam. I moved back to a small town about 10 years back, and was encouraged to join the Legion. The first time I walked into the hall, I walked past a table setup with a single chair. A place was set for a meal and a candle was burning. The area was roped off with a velvet rope and a "Reserved" sign hanging on it. When I saw that setting I nearly fell to the floor. I knew in my heart what it was for. Every Memorial Day I go to the wall to say 'hello' again to those I know, and to meet others who shared in that time. Still every time I see that setting in the hall, I have to stop, lay my hand on the table, and silently say "thanks". G-d allowed me to come home. They were more privileged in that they got to leave this world a hero and arrive at the next one as a hero. I am forever grateful to them for their sacrifice.
As the daughter of a WWII Army Air Corps vet who served in the Pacific Theater for 2 years until WWII ended and stateside for another 2 years who passed in 97. And my husband who did 4 yrs Army 2 Germany and 2 stateside, I want to thank all the Veterans who are still with us and those who are gone. You are brave men who deserve a lot more than the service paid you. Everyone of us should donate to Wounded Warriors so they can all get a smart house mortgage free to make their lives easier. Thank you all for your service. 🇺🇸 ❤ 🇺🇸
Another great tune! My daddy was 101st Airborne during WW 2. He was gravely injured in the Battle of the Bulge. When I was 12, I asked him how he got the big scar which was a result of a horrible tree burst on January 10th 1945. He said he would do it all over again and he was in hospital for over a yr.. We never spoke of it again and I didn't notice the scar anymore. For all veterans, thank you for your sacrifice. A big thank you to their partners too. Great song Trace!
Thank you Trace for never forgetting our fallen Hero’s. God bless our Gold Star families. We need your prayers because everyday is Memorial Day.🫡⭐️🇺🇸🙏🏼💔😪
My daddy and my uncle served in the Vietnam war. Dad said when they came home they treated horribly. The hurt in his countenance when he said that hurts my heart. God Bless those who serve, those made it home and those that did not and may their memory forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved them.

I had the honor to meet you on your tour in Iraq in 2010, after a concert you performed for us. Thank you for continuing to give vets and our fallen comrades voices with your songs
I can't imagine why anyone at all would give a "thumbs down" to a song like this. They are heartless. Once again, Mr. Adkins, you knocked it out of the park. God Bless all who gave all. I thank them a million times. And I thank God for the ones who made it home.
@@harrymorgan3612 We thank God that you made it home. With any luck, very soon, we won't have to worry about sending our young men and women to fight anymore.

I'm from Brazil and I hope that one day the Brazilian singers become like Adkins, making songs about our heroes and relevant things, but unfortunately, we just have singers singing about money, sex and drugs. Congratulations, Tracey. I really like you and your songs
Unfortunately, Trace in alot of ways is the exception instead of the rule. Most of the music we hear any more is pointless crap too. Folks with something real to say don't get much airplay any more

This reminds me of my grandpa he was in the military and we lost him in 2017 I never knew he was in the military R.I.P Grandpa And To All Those who gave us our freedom Thank you All For service
Thank you to all our service men and women, who are active or inactive, and a special thanks to the ones who never came home, who sacrificed it all, and to their families. We appreciate you all!♥️♥️
thank you, i am hearing this for the first time on memorial day and i am a disabled marine vet dying from my time at camp lejeune in 1986 in the corps. it made me feel honor instead of rage inside. you have a beautiful voice, reminds me of my dads god rest his soul. so once again i thank you. ooh rah.
Something we can all do to honor our deceased vets, and show their loved ones we care. There is a tradition of coins left on vet gravestones. If you leave a penny it means you visited: a nickel is you trained together at boot camp: dime is that you served together: quarter is you were there when the vet died. At most vet cemeteries the coins are gathered monthly then donated to vet programs. It's a way to honor the living and deceased heroes.
The line that goes "they were solders before they were men" has such a deep meaning. What I mean by this is that guys that served in WW1 and WW2, along with several other conflicts that the United States were in, were just boys, aged 16-18, some as young as 15 so this line has such a deep meaning behind it.
I wish I could like more than once. Amazing, touching, and gripping. I smiled and actually got misty. The only Trace Adkins song I like more than this is “Arlington”. Given I like most of Mr. Adkins music, that is saying something.
Rowley Williamson is a relative. I am retired United States Navy and agree with the sentiment of this song. Thanks Trace. /R Charles R. Williamson Jr. EW1(SW/MTS) USN(RET.)

Very true man would help the family with better benefits and pay for the rest of their lives. Any who died in uniform should be honored. Even the ones that fall to themselves life is hard and a blessing🕊️ love all of you
For me this man sings his military songs in the eyes of the soldier that has passed or is alive and going through hard times. He brings you into their world. I also like that he is very big of The Civil War memorial for both the Union and Confederate armies. He doesn't see the color of the uniform but the people who fought and deserve not to be forgotten. My father is apart of the Civil War redatction committee that cleans the headstones and tried to get headstones for both sides with the help of the Sons Of the Confederate army of the Civil War
I have been fortunate to see Trace Adkins twice in small venues. I was so close to the stage I could have reached out and touched him! What an awesome voice! When he sings you not only hear his voice, you feel the love and respect he has for our brave men and women in uniform♡ Each time I hear "Arlington" I think of two things. First, I think of all the brave souls buried there. Second, I think of how this hallowed ground came to be. During the Civil War the Union army took over the property of Gen. Robert E. Lee. This is what we know as Arlington cemetary. Union General Montgomery Miegs was in charge of this endeavor. He was a friend of Gen. Lee before the war. He was angered by the fact that Lee chose to lead the Confederacy. He was determined that none of the Lee's should ever live at Arlington again. He had bodies buried in Mrs. Lee's rose garden! None of the Lee's lived there after the war. Sadly one of the young soldiers buried at Arlington was the son of Gen. Miegs. Gen. Lee's 3 sons and 1 nephew survived the bloody battles. Many on both sides survived physically but carried the horror of the war with them the rest of their lives. Norma Jean Morrissey. Lover of History☆☆☆
@Trace adkins ♪ You are a true patriot!☆☆Your song "Arlington" makes me feel the love and devotion each of those resting there had for our great nation. Each one had a special story to tell, to share with family, friends and all who care to listen. Even those who are "unknown" to us are known & loved by our Heavenly Father. As a student of the Civil War I know that many who died were sadly never identified. Some wrote their names & other info. on paper and pinned it to their uniforms. Sadly, some couldn't read or write! It wasn't until WW I that our men had "dog tags". Known or unknown, each person at Arlington deserves love and respect from every American.☆☆☆☆ Norma J. Morrissey R.N. Student of History

My daughter and het fiancee are in his first video with soldiers. She is the first female and he is the next one. Thank you Trace for honoring our soldiers!
This past Memorial Day, I cannot help but think of my wife's family - both my wife's mother and father lost a brother during WW2. We owe SO MUCH to those sacrifices, made before we were born. Her mother's parents were never the same afterwards. Being European immigrants to the US themselves after WW1, they lost their only son who volunteered to defend the US in WW2, killed just a month before the war's end in Europe. I had a former coworker, who again, as an 'only male child' European immigrant after WW2, could have claimed an exemption to the VietNam draft, but not only after serving his initial infantry tour, VOLUNTEERED for a second tour as a Huey door gunner... Yes, he has the bullet scars, but those are scars he is PROUD of, for defending his adopted country.
Another amazing song. I came from a Military family. I always salute our Vets and ones who are in Active duty. Thank y'all for your Service Ma'am and Sir!

I want to thank every veteran for serving this great country. I also want to mention that when i was 17 or 18 I did sign up to serve in Marine corps but when I took the ASVAB test I failed I think I did okay on most of it but it was my math that kept me from getting in there was math stuff in there that I didn't know. So if I passed it I would have gone to Bootcamp I was that close I all had to do was pass physical and I was in but like i said earlier I failed miserably in the math section on the test. It was math stuff like trigonometry and some geometry that I didn't know but the other math was easy

And after that, he started to use perfect Simplified Chinese to chat.

The line "they were soldiers long before they were men," fits right in with naim. Those boys were only 18 or 19. Not old enough to vote, but young enough to die for the USA.

Thank you for sharing this story. God bless you.

Hello Susan 👋 how are you doing today?
Another great tune! My daddy was 101st Airborne during WW 2. He was gravely injured in the Battle of the Bulge. When I was 12, I asked him how he got the big scar which was a result of a horrible tree burst on January 10th 1945. He said he would do it all over again and he was in hospital for over a yr.. We never spoke of it again and I didn't notice the scar anymore. For all veterans, thank you for your sacrifice. A big thank you to their partners too. Great song Trace!

Trace has honored our military with this great tribute song
Thank you for your service
The line that goes "they were solders before they were men" has such a deep meaning. What I mean by this is that guys that served in WW1 and WW2, along with several other conflicts that the United States were in, were just boys, aged 16-18, some as young as 15 so this line has such a deep meaning behind it.

Every servicemember that dies in action should be posthumously promoted to the next grade. This would help the wife and kids.

I salute all the empty chairs my brother's, my dad, my uncle.
