I already have this book and only came to this video to find out what someone else thought about it. What a great review!

It started before the Tarot, each symbol existed independently & has a different genealogy, though the 7 virtues are the largest sub-group. The next largest sub-group is the 4 cards of the Emperor as Defender of the Realm (Empress) & the Pope as Keeper of the Faith (Popess), then the 3 card sub-group of the Star/s, Moon, Sun. The 2 card sub-group of the Devil (Original Sin), the Tower (Fall from Grace), & the 2 cards Judgement (Resurrection) & the World (Heaven on Earth) from Revelations.

Thank you so much for this review. The Golden Visconti is one of my favourite styles of Visconti. It is gold foil so not exactly authentic to the original colours yet it stands out beautifully. I have half of the decks in this book so it would be nice to have this for reference like the tarot encyclopedias by Stuart R Kaplan. Enjoyed your enthusiasm for this book and it is definitely one I need to add to my book collection. I can honestly say that I don't need all the extra decks though. 🙏💜🙏

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the review. If you have some of the decks in the book then I think you’d really enjoy reading the history of them.

Including a whole deck would have increased the price point by even more, (I think it a little under $40 US on Amazon) which for people who already have the Sola Busca, might have been a turn off since they already have the deck.
Maybe if they had an option to get the book and deck together, but not mandatory, it would have worked 🤔

Yeah, you’re probably right I didn’t think about that. I like the idea of having a book only or book and deck option, that would have been nice.

Have you by any chance read Taschen's Library of Esoterica book on Tarot? If yes, how does it compare?

I haven’t read it unfortunately. It’s on my wish list though!

I have Taschens and love it. It has a much wider variety of card art, it doesn't focus and go into detail on a set number of specific decks. It might have less actual reading but way more pictures.

Oh that sounds awesome! I definitely want to check out their Library of Esoterica collection.
