  • We're super excited about Sea buckthorn, here's an overview of what we're doing on the farm, we recently put in 12 acres of sea buckthorn and are thrilled with its potential. Sea buckthorn and Saskatoons are the two next big super fruits, packed with nutrition and prairie sunshine.
    The properties of this fruit and plant are truly awesome.

    I live in Seattle, WA, and my family ate spoonfuls of sea buckthorn berries back home. My mom tells me that I did too when I was little back in Riga, Latvia which is my homeland. In Russian these berries are called "oblepikha" (the "k" is silent). If you can please tell me where I can find these berries here in the U.S. I think I'm going to give my mom a massive field day.

    i wonder why the uploader has not replied to any of the comments... we want the seed of your varieties. Is it available? Will it ever be?

    Now if you could just sell to the American market, that'd be great. I'd love to get a half acre or so test plot going on our farm but I just can't justify it with the cultivars for sale in USA.

      Требование у облепихи к земле, температуре , поливу, удобрениям и почве такое же как и Saskatoon berry! Saskatoon Barry растёт и в Сибири и его называют Irga словом Монголов языка

    Until I saw your video I was put off by the large sharp thorns. However, your variety without thorns makes a difference. Do you have an e mail address, I,d like further info cause I'm interested in the seed. I live in Greece and have a bit of ground and would like to try it. I must add that apart from my vegetable garden I haven't had any other farming experience. Is this plant difficult to grow? Harvest? Sell?. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    In the future, it might be helpful to say the actual names of the varieties you're talking about.

    Hi sir. I just bought Seabuckthorn softgels at a russian store here in the US because it is inexpensive. Can you please tell me if 50 mr translates to 50 mg? Unfortunately the package is in Russian and I don't speak the language. Does anyone here know?

    • @crystalrothganger2415
      @crystalrothganger2415 9 лет назад

      I've studied Russian for 2 years. Did it look like this "мг" if it did, then yes, it would be Milligram (mg). Russia uses metric system only for all products. миллиграмма "milligram".

    why are farmers so wrong so often? one berry with the vitamin c of 10 oranges? 10 time by weight maybe. but how many berries fit in one orange?

    • @dieterditrich7520
      @dieterditrich7520 5 лет назад

      It is actually not correct to say 1 berry has the same Vitamin C as 10 oranges. Depending on Variety, they will have up to 2,500 (two thousand and five hundred) mg per 100 ml. One plant which is marketed by some nimkapoop growers as very high in vitamins and antioxidants is the blueberry, by comparison it has only about 50 mg of Vitamin C per 100 ml, putting it near the bottom of so called healthy fruit. I grow about a dozen varieties here in Northern British Columbia in very poor soil, which is where this plant thrives, baby it with good soil and little sunlight and it will die. I bought some fabulous Saskatoon plants from him several years ago, absolutely the best.
