I saw The Allman Brothers Band at the Doheny Blues Festival shortly before Gregg died. He was very ill, and had to leave the stage several times during the show. I could tell that his time was soon, but Gregg being who he was, trudged through that show with a smile on his face. He always appreciated the fans, but this time, I could really feel his gratitude. God Bless you, Gregg Allman, and thank you for sharing your gifts. The only posirive for me is that you and Duane are together again.
I totally agree. I can't tell you how many times I saw them, '71-'79. Greatest White Blues Singer Ever ❤ He will always be missed and loved 😢 Rest in Peace Gregg Allman 🙏 Thanks for the memories ❤✌️❤️🌼
I live in Europe Slovenia. I always want to see Allman Brothers. But now i miss the opportunity. Your Blues vocal is something special. I will listening your music till my death. You won't be forgotten.I hope i will see you someday in heaven. RIP Music Legend.
I think back to the 70s and how much l loved Greg’s music,lt was a staple to a motorcycle club, and ld listen to him and his bother bumbin down the streets in either my 64 Chevy or my tuff 4by truck either way you heard the music was cool as hell. You no l loved it because ld blasted it in my home on Friday mornings cleaning house for the weekend.Life was Sweet back then, things were simple.l never grew out of Greg’s music l just grew founder of everything new. Thanks Bro,May You Rest And still play for you and the Angels in Heaven. My Life My Love My Everything is up there with you and in a few years I’ll be coming up there too.

Was lucky to see Gregg Allman and the band many times during his career. It was the soundtrack that made a rough time growing up better, will miss him always. Thank You and RIP!
Gregg Allman was an amazing musician and performer. I Remember seeing The Allman Brothers perform at the Concord Pavillion around 1993. And I was seated above and almost behind the stage. It was a good vantage point to actually watch the musicians playing their instruments and seeing the crowds reaction. While performing on a song I observed through binoculars that Gregg Allman knocked over a plastic cup full of ?. onto his piano while he was performing and somehow rotated or shifted his hands off the keyboards grabbed a rag and wiped up the spill while still playing without losing time "Simply Amazing" musicianship. And I also remember seeing Dickey Betts walk behind the stage while performing take a drink from a cup full of ?. and then stroll back out on stage and continue jamming. Definitely this is the loss of a legend who came from a bygone era and I hope and I pray that Gregg gets to enter the pearly gates and create beautiful music again with his big brother Duane.
Butchie, then Gregg, then Johnny Sandlin, then Rick Hall.....omgosh.....there's a gigantic hole in the music. I guess to make way for the younger generations who love the music as much as they did. But there will never be another Gregg, Duane, and the rest of the crew that lovingly labored over every note played or recorded. Even through the bad times. Well, my favorite dentist, "will you hide the dead man's ghost, or will he lie beneath the clay? Will his spirit float away?" What a lonely song.. do you suppose we will ever forget you? Not even time can extinguish your flame or that of your brothers. Truly in my heart ❤ forever. Rest easy till we meet again.
This is the best news article on Greggs passing I've seen! Miss you everyday Gregg! The world grieves for a gentleman and the best damn blues singer of all!
Beautiful brightness and light surround him as he sings. and plays the instruments. He fulfilled the path The Great Spirit blessed him with a destiny for greatness until he went into his last sleep.
You will truly be missed. As a fan, I enjoyed seeing you at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY in August as well as at the Beacon in March over the years. Thank you for the memories and sharing your gift of music from the heart and soul. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Gregg said hey do you want some tickets & I said nah man I'm good I'll be there...I didnt want him to think I stopped him to talk just to be a mooch & sadly though I couldn't make it but I'll say for a little over 50 years they've been my favorite band & at some point I listen to them every day & the greatest blues voice ever heard that's Gregg Allmans. for a few previous years you could tell he was making peace with his life and he knew he was not going to live that much longer so he made music and settled a lot of things in his life. I'm glad he found that peace.
