Aidan Edward smith room with 11 other lads, let’s go
You wouldn't believe what we had to put up with in 1971 when I first started...!! 32 sharing a wooden hut, 16 on each side, with a metal bed with a thin mattress, a metal bedside cabinet and a metal wardrobe. Common showers, toilets and wash basins...!! And that was it...!!
Training or field army?
Better living conditions in prison.
Yes that is my mexican army xD
I enjoy seeing how other countries military do there duties and such great video bro, love from America 🇺🇸

The rooms have changed in recent years, the more modern ones are larger and also have a separate bathroom.
This room that Liam is showing has external communal facilities; a separate shower and toilet block, and a communal kitchen.
Cool
Different world to the 1950 s.
Thanks you for helping our country. I have a lot of reaspect for you guys :) i buy lots of poppys each year and i had a uncle who was in part time. Thank you for everything you all do for us to have a better life :)

Just ran into your channel scrolling through my recommended when I found it love the video and channel keep up the good work
Respect from 🇮🇪. Our nations had a very bad start but at least the Irish army and the British army are training together and serving overseas together in places like Mali and previously in Kosvo, Bosnia, afghan and other countries
What's your typical day like in the army? What time do you finish the working day? How much spare time do you get in the evenings and what do you do in that spare time?
Liking the videos keep them coming I've got my interview Wednesday
great questions mate, might do a video on it
Brown Label Nutrition I was thinking the same thing while watching the video.
16:30 - 17:00 then eat so about 18:00 till when ever you sleep, people train, or play video games usually or go the camp bar ect
06:30 first nominal role/litter (bin areas).... 7:15 second nominal role... 7:30 coy/battalion P.T.... 10:45 third nominal role orders to the boys. 12:00-13:15 scoff (wank) fourth nominal role, told to do bins, clean weapons, maintenance of vehicles, a shitty power point brief ( in which you have seen a thousand times), some shitty tasking like moving a shelfs around or moving and cleaning up some other coys fuck up, that type of stuff till about 17:30..... repeat ....... that's if you don't knock off mid day and get pissed and get fat! day after day as a private unless your not on exercise or guard or awol or colchester or tour.... be smart and keep away for the infantry and camp rats...
Lewis Widdowson I was talking about after you pass out mate
Thank you for your service man ❤ lotta love man. Lotta balls to 👊 stay safe bro
I'm 23 from the north west of the uk I've just applied for the army I'm trying to keep fit by jogging now and then I've been a drug user in the past but I've stopped taking stuff and I want to change my life, your vlogs are very eye opening and very helpful I'd just like to say what a pleasure it is to watch your videos. Stay safe bro
I hope you stayed a drug user, because if you did join then you know full well how shit it is.
Not bad, a few thousand subs in 3 weeks along with an extra sub from myself, impressive.
Got my army fitness exam next month, nervous as hell but super excited. It's nice to know you have creature comforts, I would definitely miss my video games!
How did it go?
Think your mint mate keep it up!! know everything I needed to know because of yours videos now. Couldn't thank yah enough bud!!

Great video mate, start my phase one in itc catterick on August 13th so this video is a great insight for accommodation in battalion life
good luck bro
I love your vids! keep them up I have my interview on tuesday

ooorahhh to the american brothers out there from england

As oh British army
Can you bring birds back to the rooms?

Frazer Miller I don't think he was expecting a serious response but ok
Love your channel mate keep up the work
thanks man, appreciate it
Just want to say keep these videos up, first British army vlogger that I've found! Keep it up! If you dont mind me asking where are you currently?
do officers get bigger rooms?
they will do yeah
ah good I'll need the space for my musket, antique armour and vintage port and wine collection
Depressingly ironic meme man 😂
Me wanna be an officer,At least I'm cosier
@@finnISHY uhm...(bit too much I think)
Is your room this tidy because of you or is it required to be this tidy. Makes my eyes happy to see reguardless, Great videos.
its just easier to keep it tidy all the time mate, thats what i do
Tidy normally goes with the forces.
Thanks for your service ❤️
Ngl this looks awesome. I'm all for itm
Im wanting to join the commandos next year any advice on preparing for training want to be ready for the tough stuff when that time comes
im only a chef mate, look up some videos on youtube maybe. good luck though
ok cheers and thank you for your service
I've got my PDA and after watching your videos on fitness I've lost all my confidence lol. Hopefully they give me some pointers on how to improve. My cardio is slowly getting better but I'm really struggling to improve my muscular fitness. I just know that if I somehow manage to pass, I'll get slaughtered during Phase 1
youll be fine, just keep on a good diet and keep running. do some press ups and sit ups everyday
build up your press ups and keep your shoulders tight to your chest. dont try and do 44 in one go others wise you will knock your confidence if you really struggle. just increas them once you find it easier and time yourself if you can
fn217 Yeah, my running is fine. When it comes to the jerry can lift and the power bags though I think I may struggle. I've been doing 100 push ups a day doing 10 reps throughout different points. I'm not sure whether I'll manage it though
nah you will be fine
This is interesting. I did not have much time talking to the British soldiers when I was stationed in Europe... Vilseck Germany to be exact but I saw a few during training and field exercises
Your channel is growing quickly
FOCKIN LASER SIGHTS
I wonder what the CQMS would say about you cooking in your room 🤔
I am Retired United States Army. Enjoyed your Video. Did a Joint Operation with the British Army Back in 1984 in Germany.
shoutout from pwrr
MAYBACH MUSIC Tigers 👌🏻
?
You get your own room o_O?
Wow that looks amazing. I just imagined a big room full of bunk beds.
Thanks for severing the county I live in 🏴
A sah dude ✌🏼
saaah dudeee
Hi there, right so my first question is would you have to live on camp, and would the rooms differs from regiment to regiment ?
chris mcmurtry rooms vary on what role you choose and also what regiments. due to where you would be based.
yeah, read lewisdm 78's comment
Think he deleted it lad as I cannot find it
rooms vary on what role you choose and also what regiment you are in this is due to where you will be based as some roles have more people than others
and also you don't need to live in camp its choice really, some might require you to its just depending on your role
THIS IS SO COOL
Thankyou for serving my country bro !!🏴🇬🇧
Will I have to do much sweeping or litter picking?
in phase 1 and 2 yeah, lots
Depends if you get ROP's ( restriction of privileges )
0:50 exposed for subscribng to urself
Tahir Khan ur an idiot he was showing people how to turn the notifications on
John Wick I think he was joking
w o he is trying to get likes and comments
@@scptato100 that's what every comment is for..
love the channel. Subscribed:)
I'm not sure if I want to become a chef in the army or a driver? Any information about the two roles which you have would be much appreciated. I know that you are a chef so what is phase 2 like, do you travel much and things like that thank you
Hannah Rihr driver can you get you good jobs after the army on civi Street and it's all paid for by the army but both jobs are good
Hannah Rihr both jobs will get you a lot of abuse from other regiments
Daniel Northcott not as much as RMP 😁
mat brackstone haha fair one
Daniel Northcott what's wrong with rmp?
I might possibly go in the army cadets then go in the army when I'm older is it a good decision and good for later life
SmashFord YT yea the army cadets gives you a good insight into army life through the occasional skill at arms and the camps away. Also it helps you getting a head start on the ironing your kit as well as polishing your boots.
Definitely try out the army cadets when you're old enough. It's really fun, and even if you don't like it theres no major obligation to keep going so you can quit if you want.
Sam Ashford it’s not like cod kid but I will say cadets is a good idea so you can realise what life is like in the forces
hes got his yds on his shelf hes got his yds on his shelf bloody love the yds`s they are soooo comfy
I left Tidworth for a posting down in Blandford when they were building all the new blocks / accommodation....went from shit ie 4 man room to porta cabins ....glad I got out
1) What's your role in the BA? 2) What rank are you? 3)I'm a little confused with the living area within the BA. I see some, like you, having their own room while others are sleeping with 10 - 15 mates. Does it just depend on the role and/or rank or is it just a hit or miss chance? Also, is it common for Inspectors; Staff Sergeants and Majors to shout at you if you do something incorrectly like having a uniform shirt in the wrong position? I love your videos (even though I'm new) and I'd appreciate a reply!
Shared accommodation is usually in P1 and job dependent P2 training, virtually everyone gets their own room in regiment. "Inspectors" Don't exist in the military, that is a copper rank, you are unlikely to come across Majors and SNCOs regularly, your usually encounters will be JNCOs and Lts and Captains.
New build accomodation was called "Z Type" pretty much single man rooms some with ensuite shower and toilet.
Older barracks are still quite often shared rooms and wash toilet facilities, 4 man rooms were very common but we usually only had two in each.
Ketchup in the fridge.. so ur one of those people😑😂
You mean a weirdo?
For me ketchup only in fridge. Well I dont know people storing open ketchup outside fridge 🤔.
ur not supposed to keep ketchup in the fridge???
@@horseface1038 Hell no that makes it cold, if you like cold ketchup you're broken
@@Rindella well... I do like cold ketchup actually
Looks cozy.
things have changed since my time, good luck to you
cheers mate
Do you get daily room inspections?
depends on your unit mate
+LiamBrown you need one
Alex Evans Are you joining?
Kieran Foley I made it to Litchfield which was the final place for assessment but I didn't feel I was ready yet. Still only 16 and want to experience a bit more of civi life and look to join in the future :)
Wow,this dude doesn't even know that lol
Love this channel man, I thinking about joining up as an Officer of the royal engineers. Is this a good idea at 18 years old after my alevels or should I wait?
It's always best to go to University first as the life experience you get is invaluable (trust me, i regret not going university first). Plus if you go Uni, look at joining the University Officer Training Corps, basically get paid to go shoot shit on the weekends and your spare weeks!
yeah get your qualifications first
Brown Label Nutrition cheers for the advice lads
Kasra Z Sarabi that's what I'm doing, I'm going to uni to do adult nursing and then hopefully becoming an adult health nurse or maybe adult health nurse officer in the army!!🙌🏽 I start uni next year
Charlotte Ballard good luck to you, enjoy it😀
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
Stay safe
Stay strong
Peace out brother.
I love that poster of the stars over Britian
Me too.
I want to join but my ma doesn't want me taking up a combat role or a full time role so I was thinking reservist chef/armourer/joiner. Any thoughts? Does a chef also have a combat role or do you just cook? I
Tam Chefs can be deployed in a combat zone but they don't fight.
Tam did you get good exam results at school
Original role I aimed for was RAF photographer, scrapped it did my selection test and had a choice between chef, air cartography or regiment... Regiment it was and somehow persuaded my mum
RAF reg 😂 embarrassing
Nandos Tasset s original
Whats ur honest opinion of these two things the weight of the l85a2 and how do u feel about the mod replacing it and 2 the british army being reduced to 65,000
Well there not planning on replacing the rifle yet but wuen they do i hope they dont
It's not heavy and it works.
theyre not planning the reduce the army, its a possibility with the new tory government but its not a certainty
Mod?
Harry McDermott ministery of defencw
8 man rooms, 8 radios per room, loads of crates of Beer. Stinks of Deodorant, Floor Polish, Boot Polish and Farts. Happy Days
I nearly joined the army back in 2003 but what stopped me was I’m not the most social of people and anxiety comes in to play with that as well as doubts about my personal fitness as I’ve never been one for running yet I’m happy walking miles after miles carrying lots of weight even.
We're is your shower
down my hallway mate
Do you not have a bathroom?
Usually there will be a communal bathroom/toilet
James Walsh it will be close by
That's what the helmet is for.
+Mattias Gabrielsson the sink for ones and helmet for twos
Lmao
Thank you for you're service ;)
Mate love it salute to Britain
My old single man room you could almost touch both walls with your arms outstretched, width wise, one set of toilet/showers between 20-30 blokes, all on a single floor, and this was the 90s, it was also classed as some of the better accommodation! I was a corporal so I had a single man room, guys still in 4/5 man rooms, thank god it’s better for these young guys and girls nowadays.
Thats a small room mate. I was lucky to get a single room in Germany in the mid 80s it was twice the size. Even managed to fit a 2 seat sofa & a 3ft fish tank in it. The 4 man rooms with dividers were quite spacious too. We did not have any cooking gear either aside a kettle ( SOP) or if you were flash a microwave... But then the Army Catering Corps fed you instead of the cheapest civvy bidder . Always got a good feed . The Sat n Sun brunches 7am til 1pm were the perfect hangover cure. An Army full English with CHIPS !!! or a Scottish breakfast as it became known. lol
I thought my military living situation was bad 😭 bless you brotha!
thanks man
Can't wait to join next year
Mark 7 is brilliant plenty of air flow and doesn't flop about on your head 😀
You got a room I had to share with 6 blokes in my battalion you’re lucky , how times have changed
What a nice room
Hopefully the RAF is like this because I wanna join them when I leave school and college
Ur room is actually insane
8 months from now I can apply to join as a junior soldier can’t wait
I'm joining the Royal Navy in December. I can't find any videos on HMS Raleigh and navy life. Any help would appreciated! Love the vids, keep them up 👍🏻
Nice life in the army
Living in Essex and joining atc pirbright in a few months time, just subbed but a suggestion how about making a video about ways to make it as easy as you can for yourself before joining up (I know this shit ain't easy tho)
good luck, thanks for the suggestion mate
Mucker that is like a transit room back in the day. Mate if mine has gleaming accommodation it's like a holiday Inn room but a bit smaller. Own bathroom storage for green kit etc.
i only had a mk4 or 5 when i was in training although i was still wearing DPM!!!
It's fascinating how similar your room/amenities are to your standard American counterpart. Back when I was active my room was nearly 1/1 to yours... And I was active US Navy. All you're missing is the misery of waking up to reveille every morning for formation and work.
Respect from the U.S. Army! Hooah!
You are the guy who arrived the first at AFC Harrogate like one year ago dude!!👋👍
Holy shit, a thousand in two days. Good job mate. Keep it up!
thanks bro, appreciate it
How it's moved on from my time in service (1966-1975).
Will I find it difficult with the physical side of I'm still currently a smoker? Great videos mind very helpful mate 👍🏼
my first room in baraks after training at wolich was a 12 man room things must have changed since the 70s only people who got a single room were ncos we got a single steel grey locker for our kit and one single bed also grey 4 star accomadation or what
The helmet is really cool, would like to try it
those nikes are stunning mate
Thanks its helpful continue elightig us please
Nice single man rooms. We had those in the Marines at CLR, other places it's still 4 man rooms though.
