    Inertia Wave review.
    I picked up a set of these about a month ago and so far I’ve enjoyed the challenge and comparing them to the battle ropes I already have.
    What Is Inertia Wave?
    The Inertia Wave is a set of 9.5 feet long, latex tubes (special elastomers) that were designed for HIIT (high intensity interval training) to build a stronger core, give you a total body workout, and ramp up your metabolism.
    Some call them a battle rope alternative but according to Inertia Wave, they are completely different and much better than battle ropes.
    The product comes with a pair of carabiners and anchor straps that you can attach anywhere.
    They come in 6 different colors which all offer the same amount of resistance.
    The colors are neon red, neon yellow, royal blue fluorescent purple, military green, and grey.
    How Does Inertia Wave Work?
    The Inertia Wave is a form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and is specifically designed to build a stronger core and enhance your speed, stamina, and strength.
    Once you start oscillating the tubes, the resistance you’re working against is the inertia that builds up in the tubes.
    Whatever amount of energy you put into it, it will throw right back out at you.
    So not only do you exert energy by moving the tubes but your body has to resist the energy the tubes shoot back at you.
    That’s what forces you to use your entire body and engage all your muscles.
    It utilizes all 3 energy systems and it is gentle on the internal structures like tendons and ligaments.
    Inertia Wave Duo
    The Inertia Wave Duo is similar to the original Inertia Wave, but it is meant for team or group based workouts.
    You and a partner hold the opposite ends of the tubes and work together to perform the various methods of use.
    The Duo doesn’t have anchor straps, instead it has a couple of wrist straps at each end.
    This prevents the tubes from lashing back at the opposite user in the event that you lose your grip.
    With the Duo, they’ve added 8 more methods of use for a total of 15 which makes it a whole lot more fun with a partner.
    Inertia Wave vs Battle Rope
    I’ve always been a fan of battle ropes for conditioning and muscular endurance.
    And although I do get kick ass HIIT workout with battle ropes, I feel battle rope workouts can be limited by how quickly your arms and shoulders fatigue.
    Especially with the heavier 2 inch battle ropes I own which feel more like an arm and shoulder workout than conditioning work out.
    The big difference between the Inertia Wave and battle ropes is that the Inertia Wave pushes energy back at you, whereas the battle ropes “die” at the anchor point after you move your arms.
    The energy the Inertia Wave throws back at you forces you to engage your whole body continuously in order to stabilize and absorb it.
    Inertia Wave Coupon Code
    I reached out to the company and asked them if I could get a special discount code for my followers and they have agreed to give you a discount.

    How to Use the Inertia Wave
    The instructions say to anchor down the bands 24 - 36 inches apart.
    I hooked up the anchor bands to hitch pins on the inside of my rack.
    They can really be attached to anything: dumbbells, weight sled, car trunk, fence, and anything you can think of.
    After anchoring both bands down they are ready to use with the 7 methods of use.
    The 7 Methods Of Use
    There are 7 methods of use with the Inertia Wave and each one follows a specific pattern and oscillating waves.
    I go over those methods in my review but before starting the exercises, make sure you’re in an athletic stance and hold that position throughout the entire short bout from one to three minutes.

    I wanted to bring my battlerope to the gym but it’s heavy and dirty so I thought my gym would frown upon the idea. Then I saw Lebron working out with these but I had no idea what they were or how to look for them. I stumbled across an inertia wave commercial and I thought to myself, “there it is”. However I didn’t just want to take their word for it so I started looking for reviews. Since I’ve seen your reviews in the past I knew I would be getting an honest and intelligent breakdown of the product. Thank you so much for helping me make my decision on purchasing this product. I’m also a subscriber to your channel. Blessings.

    On the weight sled add MINI-BANDS center of poles...sled poles are unstable...so we need to BRING THEM TOGETHER, by adding a PULL by the mini bands...then attach the rail straps to VERY TOP...

    To be honest Nike has a long resistance band that is coated with some scrunch cloth coating and it can do the same exact thing I use them all the time and they run $20 a piece they come in Heavy, Med, Light and they can create the exact same wave Affect so i can buy 3-4 of Nikes and get the same affect for the price of this.

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  3 года назад +1

      Those don’t function the same way as the Inertia Wave.
      I thought the same thing and that’s why I tested a resistance tube right next to the inertia wave in the video.

    Awesome - thank you. How have these been holding up for you now that you've had them for awhile? Still going strong? I've seen a few reviews saying that they breakdown too quickly...any feedback you can share? Also how often are you using them? Thx!

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  3 года назад

      They’re still holding up pretty good.
      I use them on grass or my garage so the wear and tear when they hit the floor is minimal.
      I wouldn’t use them on rough concrete

    Also if the battle ropes are too light there isn't much of a workout.

    Great review! Question on usage for cardio - do you think it could be used as a main form of cardio or HIIT? Have very limited space so that rules out great machines like the c2 rower for me unfortunately.

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  4 года назад +1

      Yeah it could be used as both, just depends on how intense you go at it. It definitely gets you winded.
      The good thing about the inertia is you can attach it to almost anything so even if you have very little space in the garage, you can take it outside and attach it to something like a fence.

    I haven't used a real inertia wave, but I bought a 20ft length of speargun rubber and I use it like an inertia wave. It was like 50$ which compared to full price inertia wave I'd say it's worth it probably. The inertia wave is on sale right now for 75$ though so if I were to do it again right this second then I'd just buy the real thing.

    Inertia wave looks like the same concept as bodyblade

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  Год назад

      Some motions may be similar but the Inertia Wave pulls you towards its anchor point while you do the movements so your body is fighting that pull plus the movements with the tubes

  • @stevenzak199
    @stevenzak199 4 года назад +1

    Inertia Wave recommends a spacing of 24 to 36 inches apart (ruclips.net/video/UWiRC73Ktkk/видео.html @2:15), so I'm glad to see that it actually works just fine with a narrower spacing. Depending on what you happen to have as anchor points (a horizontal bar or a chain link fence obviously gives you great flexibility; a strap around a palm tree not so much), you may find a narrower spacing is more available. I once ordered one of these through Amazon but someone stole it from my mailbox, and though Amazon refunded my money, I never ordered another one. Thanks for reminding me of this device. It looks like it might be a great cardio tool. (I have other things I can use for HIIT training, like my TRX RIP Trainer, so I wasn't desperate for this, but it might be a cool thing to have.)
