  • They Can't Take That Away From Me From My Living Room song number 14. This was one of the last songs that the Gershwins wrote together. George was nominated posthumously for an Academy Award for best song of 1937. However the song lost to Sweet Leilani made popular by Bing Crosby. They Can't Take That Away From Me was written for Astaire for the film Shall We Dance in 1937. The song was reused in the 1949 film The Barkleys of Broadway again with Astaire and Rogers (their final film together). The 1949 version with orchestrations by the brilliant Conrad Salinger was Ira's favorite.

Where's everybody at? For pleasing relaxation listen to the sweet sounds of Richard Glazier. If you like piano music this is it.

Hello from Detroit! Love this interpretation. The middle section reminds me of a silent movie in which the musician compliments what is being seen. 😃
