www.cbc.ca/Q Producer Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse and The Shins lead singer James Mercer talk about their collaborative and hugely successful project.
it's so good to see Brian actually come out of his shell. Every interview I have seen with him he has been so shy and reserved and let whoever he was with (either James or Cee lo) do all of the talking.
I had no idea who these guys were, apart or together, when I heard the opening snippet of "High Road" on Q a couple of months ago. I just knew that I had to hear more. I am a devout Radiohead fan who now between albums was looking for something new having proclaimed a loss of faith in new music. Then the Broken Bells come along with an amazing album that is bound to be a classic, renewing my faith and sparking me to travel throught the backlog of both The Shins and Danger Mouse. THANK YOU GUYS!
Always interviews with some of my favorite artists and I'm always impressed with Kian's knowledge and questions. Thanks so much QTV! /Grateful teen from Stockholm
Bought that CD. Love it. Hey did the record company watch dogs read the part about .....I BOUGHT THAT CD. Heard about it on RUclips so I BOUGHT THAT CD. Looking forward to the next one. =)
heh i Bought the CD as well just before the only CD store sut down :) :/ lol i also indeed bought a Smashing pumpkin abulm Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness it amazing as well as this broken bell record(:
@viperchris34 good job, you found the one original question. Look, all I'm saying is that most of what's asked isn't original by any means. If you're going to interview a band, do some research first, it really is neither difficult nor time consuming. It's not so much complaining as it is an observation, and it's done in more interviews than just this one. They're countlessly asked the same things over and over, with the occassional original question spawning from basic conversation.
@viperchris34 really? because anyone could enter the questions into google and churn up a plethora of interviews before and after this one posing the same exact questions. they all do it, no one does their journalistic research

First heard of Dangermouse on his album with DOOM and i've liked him ever since.
I wish they'd do a tour and make another album

DangerMouse = GoodMusic
Someone needs to tell the wait staff in this studio that there is decaf in their coffee machine.
that's why I love Pelican City
They're both so quiet. Most musicians are. Strangely.
Yeah that's what has really stunned me, just can't find anything I don't like! :D

@seanybooboo The answers were awesome, so the questions must have been good. Re-evaluate.

This video won't play.

@MarreFrusciante really? because his questions blew
i read the title as "broken balls." oops.
I thought he was fantastic.
Anyone else think we are going to not see another Broken Bells album based off of the body language from this interview?

@seanyboo Then stop complaining on the internet and become a journalist.
