That motorhome isn't just in bad shape, it is totaled! The advertisement you described is fraud that violates the laws of every state in the nation. The guy who paid you should file in small claims court to get his money back! I just found that POS still listed on RV Trader for $280,000! Optimum RV in Ocala Florida. Avoid those crooks at all costs!

Thanks to y'all, i got a level 2 inspection by a guy here in San Diego. Lots of cash out for inspection but glad i did it. Only one red flag and it was the fire extinguisher in the bathroom under the sink. One scratch on the dinette table and a cabinet that was wonky...but im purchasing the RV because of the inspection. My case turned out fantastic but ya cant take that for granted!!! GET AN INSPECTION!!!! Thanks Blue Ox for your valuable videos and information!!!

Maintenance and cleanliness (including smell), or should I say the evident lack thereof, are the first things we check for. If all we have are pictures, we copy them and put them into Paint and go over them with a fine tooth comb. It's unbelievable how common lack of maintenance is.

Wow! That is absolutely disgusting. I am thinking this was a new RV owner that bought during COVID for a super inflated price…never took care of anything…and now unloaded it at a dealership or just walked away on a bank repo that this dealership picked up at wholesale. Absolutely neglected. If that is how the previous owner took care of their RV…I can only imagine how they take care of their house. Sad…

It depends on the daily rate they charge the roaches for the air bnb rv. Could be a money maker with great cash flow! The next buyer will be some unsuspecting dealer at an rv auction. Maybe they buy repo’s for their inventory.

I know you have no control over this, but something we need is an honest assessment of a new or used Brinkley. RV buyers; those that are left, want to know if the juice is worth the squeeze. They are expensive, but is their quality control worth spending on? Let me make this clear as I can..........and everyone can weigh it..........we as consumers need know if these RVs are actually a cut above, then we can individually weigh what price to quality is worth. i read brinkleys never listed their full specifications in any manual which is a red flag. me personally i would not buy

There is a lot to be done to bring that couch back, but I think you could employ a fumigation company to eradicate the roaches and anything else that lives within the framework of the coach. I’m not sure about that, but that would be the direction that I would go also, I would like to see a steel on the purchase price. Thomyt

Some owners just don’t care.None of this surprises me I was in the mobile home business for over 20 years.Some of the mobile homes I went in I wouldn’t let my dog live in them.I imagine this is a repo or was about to be a repo when they traded it.I would buy it but would only pay pennies on the dollar.Im sure you would have major mechanical issues if you would have kept inspecting.My guess is it was never serviced.I have advice for potential buyers is if you can’t afford to maintain it and care for it don’t buy it.

Good walkthrough. As inspectors, after a 10 minute look, you know how it's going to turn out. Do you give the buyer a chance to abort right there, and save them much of the cost of a full day inspection? Would minimize your loss of time as inspectors as well. In my experience, be careful, as a seller, whom you choose to list with. A number of dealers won't lift a finger to clean or repair even a NEW incoming unit, let alone an uncared for resale unit, until they have a buyer ready to go. Some listing dealers offer the seller a clean up service for an exhorbitant price, but might have been worth it for this unit. Selling dealer bother to unfold the slide seals?...that's the joke of the day! It appears to me the sellers got into the RV lifestyle, had at least two oopsies backing in, decided RVing is not for them, left open food in the galley then let it sit for months before deciding to sell it. I would only buy this rig if the seller knocked off 5 figures or more for the roach infestation/cleanliness issues, get estimates for the body and paint repairs, then double that estimate to be knocked off bluebook value, as it would be months to repair; and another 50k off for presumed electrical issues and new batteries. For an experienced RV owner who is handy, this unit could be a deal.
It will have to become a project definitely.

Wow, that's gross! If someone actually accepted that unit for a trade and gave it value against another, they're probably going to get their @$$ handed to them, they will certainly take a huge loss. As far as who would spend that much money and not maintain it? My guess is they got caught up in the "let's go RV'ing because it's all we can do during COVID" timeframe and got in way over their head. I honestly hope they didn't ruin themselves financially, very expensive lessoned learned (unless they traded that in on another new one and will drive it into the ground, then they deserve what they get - haha. I had a RV School Driving client once that was nasty! They had a brand new Entegra that they had used on a couple of short weekend trips before our class and when I walked in…. I wanted to walk out! I got an inspection on a new Little Guy Max trailer this week, thanks to your channel. Unfortunately they found an array of issues, and I don’t have the expertise to know how significant each one is, nor would I know how to check their work if the dealer agreed to resolve the issues. Now what? Do I walk away from the deal? From the dealer? From the whole manufacturer? I’m overwhelmed. 😞
Inspector should have been there for you even after the process you think?? Dropping you like a hot potato shows the lack of dedication and empathy of that person. Make sure to publicize the outfit 🤨

Just bought a new Thor this yr, loved floor plan and price, but, 5 weeks in shop for warranty repairs, full day on site service tech doing repairs, I myself spent 3 full weeks fixing, cleaning ,tightening, adjusting.
I expected it (Large est dealer in county ) customers are crap in their eyes. Iv been in RVs for 50 yrs so I wasn't surprised. best advice, find a smaller honest family dealer or buy a clean well kept unit from a private seller. 😊

Who lets a $300,000 RV get destroyed in 2 years? I know the answer to that...someone who should not own an RV! We purchased our first RV 4 years ago. It cost less than 10% of this $300,000 price tag. Even though it was clearly a low-end travel trailer, it was what we could afford at the time. I still washed it inside and out after each outing, waxed it 3 times a summer and took great pride in owning it. That was disgusting!

...I have no words... this year, make and model is listing for $295k as of Jan 2024... and if the coach was put away with food, the critters will find their way in and make themselves at home. My question is why didn't the owner deep clean this coach and not make it so obvious that there was an infestation???????? While I'm confident that it could be professionally exterminated, the overt neglect would most likely come back to bite the new owner in the hind end! New Batteries, Tires, Water Sanitation, not even sure what's going on in the Black Tank... and we haven't even seen the roof! This would have to come at a VERY DEEP Discount and even so, I'm not sure I would be able to get over the lack of sanitation. At the luxury price point, the coach needs to be in "Sign & Drive" condition. I hope someone can bring this beauty back to life, but that would be a full time job.

Who had this Rv previously didn’t know what he was getting into or maybe to damn broke to do any up keep. This might piss people off but I think if the unit is over 26,000 they should have a cdl regardless of the word Rv. Evidently this person didn’t know how to back up either. Could have a really nice with the proper care.. but for a 21 ??

I work at a new car dealer and see newer vehicles come on like this all the time. This was for sure a repo owned by someone with no money to maintain and no common sense on maintenance or basic day to day living!
I think a lot of people sold their house lately, because of the appeal of making a killing on the sale, and went into the RV Lifestyle, thinking it was going to be the dream 🤔 not realizing there was more to it than just vacuuming once a week 😲

Did he think the buyer was going to buy it just on his video, sight unseen? You’d think the dealership would at least hire a cleaning crew to come in. I’m shocked this is two years old!! If you're in Ocala Florida, and the Units are all crap I'm going to guess that you must be at Optimum RV. They are the shadiest RV dealer around. I have a friend that bought a used Winnebago at their Zephyrhills Florida location and on her 1st trip to Maine she was stuck in NC in August, no dash a/c and the generator wasn't working so couldn't use the roof air. It cost her $Thousands to have everything repaired so she could continue to Maine.Optimum told her she didn't buy the extended warranty so she was on her own. They didn't answer her calls after that. I'm surprised they are still in business. Shady, Shady, Shady. I tell everyone Don't but anything from Optimum RV, their Lying Thief's.
