Bravo to you for shining light on this beautiful talented artist. Elvis sang it in 77. He turned the righteous Brothers onto it before Elvis decided to cover it too.
Thank you. You're the first person to do a reaction to one of Roy Hamilton's recordings. Love this guy's voice. His version of "Unchained Melody" is my favorite.
Elvis adored Roy. He was a big influence on Elvis. But they only met once, when both were recording at the same studio in Jan. of 1969. Elvis generously gave Roy the song "Angelica." Roy sang it wonderfully. I have often wondered how Elvis would have handled the song.
Righteous Brothers were good but everyone saying it's the best I don't agree with. Not that it isn't perfect it's just a different version and Roy Hamilton put a different vibe on it. Both are equal but I like black artists
My favorite version of Unchained Melody. We saw him live several times and talked with him. He was a gentlemen and very handsome. One of those nights my hubby had a little too many drinks and Roy was so kind and patient with my husband’s gabber. He died too, too young. This was always a good slow dance song. Still is around our house.
Obviously, he was the original singer. This is such an awesome song that it’s been done many times. The most popular was when it was when it was in the movie GHOST.
No, Todd Duncan was the original singer of it in early1955. Hamilton did it in March of that year. There was a flood of singers who recorded the song in 1955 and later.
As others have mentioned, Roy Hamilton influenced Elvis Presley, The Righteous Brothers, Jackie Wilson and others. You can definitely tell that it was Hamilton's version, not Al hibbler's or other versions, that influenced Bobby Hatfield of The Righteous Brothers. It is my favorite version of the song. The Righteous Brothers also recorded, about 10 years later, at least two other hits by Hamilton, *You'll Never Walk Alone* and *Ebb Tide* . Elvis Presley also recorded, in 1976, another hit by Roy Hamilton, from 1954, *Hurt* .
The big hit of Unchained Melody was by Al HIbbler in the 1950s. Righteous Bros. decades later. I totally agree Roy Hamilton is great, and Elvis (of course) is the best.
Here's another Elvis song "Any Day Now" to enjoy. ruclips.net/video/Uh1mScb5SiU/видео.html It looks to me like there are photos of Roy Hamilton in the video, about one minute in a shot showing Roy Hamilton, dad Vernon Presley, and Elvis
Love his voice🙏🏻🙏🏻

I could listen to his voice forever

Same.
Hatfield has a good voice exceptional voice but the song is just doesn't interest me as much different versions do that.

🤔Oh wow so they knew each other personally.
Both Elvis and The Righteous Brothers were great admirers of Roy Hamilton. Elvis loved Hamilton’s version of this song the best.

Roy Hamilton crackin up over you up beat
Yes, "Cracking Up Over You" was a unique song for Roy. Roy had a full-bodied voice meant for opera or Broadway.

Check out Al Hibbler rendition of this song. Both gents had a hit with this song in1955. Both of these gents sang it before Bobby Hatfield 1965.

Awesome 👌
Bobby Hatfield sang it in 1965. Elvis sang it live in 1977. I don’t think he did it before that.
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🇪🇸🇪🇸
Guy , Todd Duncan's sang it first in 1955 in a movie. (Unchained) righteous brothers 1965. I hope I'm right sweetie 💖💖

There's another name for a future video: Al Hibbler. Maybe "He."
