The prospective on money is so wacked out , what does the future hold . ( That's not negative it's factual). And on a positive note : Even with the load being posponed its only one day later on you getting home. Josh your very optimistic 90% of the time. Oh, and then icing it you’ll get reimbursed. Hopefully you’ll get a layover for it hopefully for your sake because unfortunately there are companies that don’t pay layovers you know they say they do but you know they were out there here as you know, but thankfully Keystone is not like that. Hopefully you’ll get a layover.

Hi Trucker Josh great video it's been nice traveling with you on this trip I enjoyed the scenery don't worry everything is going to be alright me and my husband Ron don't like towns and citys that are so busy traveling but we get through it at least you have a nice truck stop to stay the weekend until you get your next load stay safe god bless 😊🙏

Not every burger is a fast food burger 😉 There are a lot of restaurants serving burgers. If the quality indeed is higher than the typical fast food is another question though.

In the same boat stuck in Liberty MO all weekend waiting to deliver thanks to the cooling line popping off the DEF tank. Lots of good food in a couple of the pubs where your sitting plus up towards the #1 there’s a theatre and Boston Pizza. Thanks for the trip through New West spent 15 yrs running expedited out of Annis Island and that’s the route we’d take in and out though less traffic at 3am. For me I don’t mind being stuck in Vancouver as the BIL an niece live in Maple Ridge so I just go and crash there

Triple O restaurants are the fast food division of White Spot Restaurants which opened their first one in 1928 in Vancouver. They used to be just a drive in and they used long trays that went across from driver's window to passenger's window with your food and drinks right in front of you. If you ate on the ferry, it was from the same restaurant chain.

It’s the same in Aus Josh so called fast food isn’t cheap anymore we maybe have it once every couple of months and we’re not on the bones of our u know what but boy it’s getting expensive to eat out keep your chin up bud enjoy the little rest because u know it will be go go go again soon

If you're old like me it's even more of a shock. Sometime go online and see what food cost in the 60s and 70s, you'll be shocked. Yes we made less money but still it was much better.
1974 I rented a huge apartment split level upstairs and downstairs ,fully furnished, laundry , pool , gas grills, covered parking .
$195.00 per month, cable 6.95, electric about 30.00, car insurance about 30 . 1978 bought new 78 trans am loaded about $7400.00, food was not even an issue. In 1967 regular gas was .19 cents a gallon.
And the other side of owning your own truck if you don’t have to drive a rental truck, which is always nice, it’s not so nice however, when your truck decides to break down

Looks like you took the hard way out of Burnaby through NewWest, I used to haul siding out of there many years ago. Triple O’s is good 👍 but your right a bit pricey, Tuesday is the day to get the burger it like three bucks cheaper. Looking forward to tomorrow’s adventure, take care.

As I've said for years, " where has the constant retreating gotten-us"??? Reporting from Realville,USA Also peer pressure is all we have.....and what type of world do we want to leave the kids, look at the sacrifices-risks our forefathers took......
This reminds me very much of my first time truckin through Van, I was convinced I was way off the truck route going through those small “downtown” streets. I relaxed a tiny bit when I saw a container truck and car hauler, that was it though lol

Wow. Just the price tag on your meal would deter me. Roughly $22 or so US. Naw. I get having a cheat meal on occasion. But don't break the bank doing that, Josh. I'm Andrew. Maybe you could find a grocer store and get son sandwich supplies. Not necessarily to stay healthy. But to save money. Even a rotisserie chicken (the cooked kind), some chopped watermelon, and maybe a lemonade or bottled water would likely cost less.

Vancouver is basically Canada's loading dock every load goes east from here, as for the mega carriers, most of them are headquartered in Winnipeg and Steinbach (yup, your town)I worked for one of those in both Canada and the western states and it was a soul sucking nightmare, I now drive in the lower mainland and I am home every night and get twice as much money when I choose to work
If id have know u were staying there id have come say hi as we get coffee at that chevron every morning.

Unfortunately, I’ve been out of this industry for 10 years because my dad’s been gone for 10 years but even before he had passed away, the freight was getting free was getting cheap. He was a company driver and there was one time I was in the office with them, and there was a guy that had called, his boss I’m not gonna say the company he work for but town. The guy called the boss and he was in somewhere in Missouri. I think it was St. Louis which and he had a load that was worth 500 bucks you’re going back to Brampton Ontario, real in the boss told him that, if he had a truck right next-door, he would stop and get it because it was a less than truckload carrier that my dad work for but he wasn’t gonna send a guy halfway across the country to get a loan to pay that little amount of money me and then bring it home so he told the guy go find someone else because he wasn’t porn when freight for that you

Yeah, I know I wouldn’t wanna find the freight. I wouldn’t mind being an owner operator because there are several advantages do it one advantages. If you have your own insurance, you can take your son with you which creates memories, but I don’t want to speak for this, but I feel like the company allows passengers would I be correct?
Man what is that route. Its even worse than tryting to go between Ontario/Quebec through Ottawa. Who designs these routes.

And you know unfortunately I would be the driver that’s not the unfortunate part of. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of companies that will haul cheap freight for nothing thing so unfortunately it leaves guys like yourself hunting down good freight and sometimes you’re left to sit there and wait.
Josh I am on Social Security and Food going up but not my pay. I have a wife and myself and two dogs. I want short every month. I have no money to go out short for $30 for a hamburger to go to the store because I have no money.
But then, again, yeah I wouldn’t hold you for it either. Not unless I really had to get home if I had to really get home I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t like it so I don’t blame you if you’re sitting and waiting because like you say all the time drivers you got bills and running your truck is not cheap sowe gotta be saying no to cheap freight
I'm thinking foreign owned trucking companies are under bidding because they pay their new Canadian drivers peanuts. That puts legit companies out of business and voila they have a monopoly.

The cost of living in BC is insane. And the infrastructure for trucking virtually nonexistent. The trucking industry is in bad shape here (BC) due to predatory hauling rates. Independent truckers get royally shafted. Don’t go west of Alberta.
