Casey, "Assembled in the USA" is NOT the same thing as "Made in the USA." Parts still come from elsewhere. Same thing when Apple puts "Designed in the USA" on iPhones.
tastyfish1 designed in US is better than made in US. Engineers and designers are high paying jobs compared to assembly person. DJI is designed in Shenzhen the silicon valley of the world that US refuses to acknowledge.
Skydio is still in its infancy stages. DJI obviously has the upper-hand in terms that it's a well-known company with high-quality products to sell. What the US is doing to DJI is idiotic and pathetic coming from the same government that has the biggest military budget in the world.
I get Casey's point on the fact that this drone is not cinematography material. But I think of RUclipsrs in sport category, this is a perfect tool for them. Think Mountain biking, climbing, trailing... sports in which you need your hands. Think of people with disabilities... this is still a great tool to shot quality videos
He is not 100% right on that. Once you learn how it works differently you can achieve very cinematic shots. If you care more about long distance flying go dji though.
I have a Mavic and the Skydio. The Skydio for mountain biking shots is 1000x better. I can launch it and not worry about it losing me. Mavic is better for range and interface though.
Yes you're right👋 I wish I could order this here in Norway. But instead I have the mavic air 1 and parrot anafi. Both have failed me at following me biking and skiing😱

I dig what Skydio is doing with drones. Plus I think for the one/two person filmmaker, the ability to have the drone so easy get the shot for you while you do something else is amazing. I could definitely see switching to Skydio when it's upgrade time...though they might be on to Skydio 3 by then.
My biggest concern is how choppy the thing looks.. With all of my drone shots, I enjoy the cinematic single movements.. No camera adjustments unless it's a slow pan up or down. Cool concept, looks nice! DJI stays with me though.
If you want a drone flying by iteself most of the time, get Skydio. If you want to fly a drone most of the time, get DJI drones. That's like comparing watching a gaming stream and playing the game personally. Which one's the better experience?
The Real question here is you actually wanna use the drone or use the footage for a vLog. While most people use these to get a cool aerial footage and struggle to handle them and most often break em and are quite expensive.
It’s not so much about which is a “better” experience more than it is about which shot you’re trying to get. Sure this is cool if you’re doing an action shot or have a very specific movement of the subject in mind but any past that like let’s say film a proposal or shoot a real estate property or even just getting a really good smooth and cinematic establishing shot trust me...the DJI is miles ahead.
@@elevatedmediagroup Skydio is definatelly better for ameteur sports people or even sports events. Imagine if you need to controll a drone to get some motocycle in the air shots. Just toss a couple of skydios and let em do their magic. DJI on the other hand is as Casey said for cinematographers that knows exactly what they want.

The Skydio drone looks a lot like the flying Skynet drones in the "future" scenes of the Terminator movies. And I'm not entirely sure that's not intentional.

That is beyond impressive! I didn't give it much thought when I saw them but seeing how well that drone works I'm interested! Still amazed it was able to avoid everything it did! Once they come out with a controller I'd be all in, I like the Autel drone as well. The DJI it isn't about the drone it's more of the software/app that you have to have installed to use it and what that software/app gains access too is the problem. So for you and yourself it is always good to use a more secure product, I'm a simple family man so I think of my family and their safety first before anything else and above all else. You being a family man as well I'm sure you know what I mean. Thanks again for many years of amazing content!

But, he said exactly what I’ve said about Skydio from the start... if YOU want to fly a Drone and get the best flying/photo experience, get a DJI. If you’re more interested in BEING FILMED and you’re into action stuff, you can’t beat the Skydio
I agree with that assessment/review. Great hands free tech, but for those looking to manually fly for specific shots the controller and controls seem to leave more to be desired.

You clearly don't understand the prep and thought Casey puts into his videos. Also, droniverse is about the most basic of apropos word combinations you can get.
Cyclist and bikers also used it. Footage can change between your north side, north-east, north-west, south, south-east and south-west. You can also you can set the altitude from 1 to 4 ("4 is the farthest from you")
The AI feature of the Skydio is the same with the Active Track of DJI drones. As he said DJI was the more polished drone, I would go for the "king of the droniverse", still DJI.
I have both, each are excellent in their own ways. If I had to have one, it would probably be a DJI Mavic Pro 2, but the Skydio is so darn cool, especially with the jinky controller.
Obviously you haven’t used the Skydio. DJI is not anywhere near the Skydio when it come to autonomous tracking. You can argue DJI is better in other areas, but in autonomous tracking Skydio is the King, and it’s not even close at all

I don't think he cares about views! He took a break and he obviously cares about the quality and the message. Any big company knows that getting mentioned by him means a lot more than by others. Casey is honest and that's why we watch.

Active Track can't do this. I tried to have it follow me through sparse trees on my bike and it crashed into a tree in 10 seconds.
Don't ever compare Active Track to Skydio's autonomy there is no comparison Period .... I own Both
