I don't know whether to look at him because that makes me laugh just thinking about what the reviewer is going to do. I can play that part over and over.
😂 Miss. K Shavon, you crack me up, girl! I live very close to Bobby. He was a very nice human being as well as a musically gifted and talented man. He played at the local college, and he shopped around town. He loved being far from the limelight. He garnered no unwanted attention. Folks here respected his space.
Heyyyy guuurlll! Yes, Bobby Caldwell is one of the godfathers of blue eyed soul! My dad used to listen to him in the car on an eight track cassette and now I need some Geritol because I feel ancient😂😂😂
Hey Shavon from a loyal Subscriber! I grew up on this song. I laughed as another White guy who sang and played Sax professionally in the 80s and 90s. Love it. Sadly Bobby passed away in 2023z Love your reactions. Much love and support. Bruce 🎷🙏🏼🇺🇸
Soul is universal. I love it when younger Black people find out Bobby is White. Wait until you get to The Average White Band. All this music was accepted & loved by people of all races back in the day.
That’s because there was little racial division then. When I was a kid, we didn’t see each other in terms of color. My mom and dad socialized with everyone. I had black aunts and uncles and we called them that because we considered them family. And, by the way, I’m from southeast Alabama. I’m so sick of the stereotypes that all white people from the Deep South are white sheet wearing, cross burning, morons.
🤔…..GREAT reaction! He died absolutely unnecessarily - he had a slight infection and a cold, and the doctor prescribed him an antibiotic. That antibiotic crippled him to the point where he could no longer perform - after six years of suffering he finally died at the age of 71. There are a few RUclipss about his career and tragic death worth watching.
😂😂Thank you Ms Shavon for this reaction. That pause after seeing him and the pose with your hand under chin and lips purse is really you. Gotta love it looking real sexy. Good reaction. Many were fooled didn't know including myself. 😂😂😂Lol
He lived in Miami and his mom used to bring him to Bob Marley’s house. He loved soul and jazz music, and was influenced by thise genres. He wrote songs for Natalie Cole, Al Jarreau, Bob scaggs, Niel Diamond. The record label was in Hialeah, and also produced KC and the sunshine band. Bobby Caldwell gave us some great music.
I heard this song when I was in Japan. I was learning English back then and I had to do some research then so that I could sing along. As fate would have it, there was a karaoke version on laser disc. And there was bobby caldwell gracing the video in the karaoke video. At the time, I was ignorant about the whole race thing but I did have a weird thought that the voice didn't match his look.
Some beautiful blue eyed soul, we know where this song can take ya, lol. Was a shock to many and they wanted it that way. Thanx darlin', Muah 😘 😘 Peace
@@gonzoyork1908nah it was legit, Billboards Magazine nominated him for something like “New Black R&B Artist” in 1979, he was predicted to win the award before he mysteriously got taken off the nominees list And we later found out why he got taken off 🤣😭
Lol...i know Bobby still goin in the basket..lol...you crack me up again girlfriend! Shut up! Lol..he sings like a brother though dont he? Lol. Love your reaction as usual.❤
You are hilarious lol. White boys where you at lol. Rest in peace Bobby! Listen to his last performance. He was 71 and sounded the exact same. He wrote, next time I fall in love, with Peter cetera and Amy grant. Talented dude.
@@kshavon3098 when I had my son, who is severely disabled, all my supposed friends suddenly disappeared. In my loneliness, I turned to RUclips to entertain myself. You touch people's lives more than you know. God bless! ❤️
It cracks me up because when I was a little kid growing up in the 70s in Inglewood, California I knew Bobby, the Bee gees, Player and many other R&B hit groups were white.
I used to listen to this on the "Sunday night oldies" when I was a kid in the 90's. I was 38 years old when I found out he was white lol (I'm Latino/ "white passing") Such a beautiful, tender song.. no matter the color just a beautiful song.
Sweetie, it’s not just you. I’m 52 and heard it way back, I always assumed it was a black man singing. I only found out 2 years ago head white, I was just as shocked.
Young Lady i am 64 and i remember when this came out and i always thought he was Black. Until recently back then Black or white they had some soul in them. The 70's as far as i am concerned is one of the best.
I listen to a lot of Bill Withers (great!) and I've always thought of Bobby as someone with a similar style. I had the same surprise as you. Bobby is probably an interesting exception as a singer and I'm happy for his talent (RIP).
Tupac Shakur sampled this song in a single released posthumously. It was originally called ‘Sucka 4 Luv’. It was changed to “Do for Love”! Amazing to know that four additional Hip Hop artists sampler Bobby Caldwell. At the time both white folks and black folks were shocked to find out the song was performed by a white man.
If you like Bobby. You will love Tom Jones. I'm 65 year old white man and Tom is my number 1 singer. Tom will put you girl in a different place. I first seen Tom on his T V show I was 9 years old. I move the furniture in the front room and dance like he did. You'll see why he is my #1.

I LOVE THIS COMMENT AND ILY2 😘🙏🏾OOUU AND U LOOK GOOD😍
K Shavon, sadly we lost Bobby recently, March 14th, 2023. Your friend set you up. Most people never knew he was white, producers wanted it that way.
I didn't know he was white either until another reaction video, but this song was all over my childhood. Unfortunately Bobby passed away last year.
Goes to show that music is indeed universal.
Bobby Caldwell....RIP......the guy looks like an accountant and he's on fire.....keep the vids coming....never a dull moment watching you....hehe

This man’s classic hit has blessed our family cookouts and family reunions

1978 I was 12 and this was on the radio alot and still play it on some stations still. Seems like in the seventies, everybody had more soul.

A very versatile and talented artist, could sing or play any instrument.
This is the reaction that everyone had when Teena Marie’s first album Wild and Peaceful came out!!!

White ... Black ... I don't care ... this song with his vocals just hits the right spot for everyone who hears it ... and that's what counts.
I swear, this video's main purpose is pranking black people.
