  • This is a 2 minute clip of amateur footage from Pittsburgh's North Side during the mid 60's showing the demolition of various buildings during site preparation for the Allegheny Center Mall Development. The clip starts out coming up Federal street and being detoured around the Demo/Construction site. Showing the new St Peters grade school and Dominic high school. Later a view of the old St Peters school and adjacent buildings on West Diamond Street. At some point, the filmographer gets out of his or her vehicle and stands in the middle of Federal Street above Stockton to give you a view to the west and up Federal. After a brief ten second intermission you will see a pan across North Ave which includes a rare view of the original North Ave Methodist Church at North and Arch. Also a view of what used to be Restaurant Row which included the Kenyon Theater just south of Montgomery and Federal. If you recognize anything, PLEASE add it to the comments for historical purposes.
