I heard this doesn't work anymore ? I'm looking at getting one instead of a firestick because of the price saving but don't want a chromecast if can't get 3rd party apps

Hi there, I appreciate that! Device choice is based on user-preference for the most part but I prefer my Firestick 4K Max. Chromecast with Google TV is still a very solid device.
We didn’t get the ‘for your security….’ With the downloader symbol come up after trying to download an app. We continued but although it downloaded we couldn’t play it due to not being able to find the enable bit on our tv. LG tv with chrome cast. Any hints?
Correct! As long as your TV or device runs the Google TV operating system then this process will work. Pro Tip - I recommend using a separate streaming device instead of a TV for better performance.

@@iptvwire not on my 4k chromecast, but there is on my HD Chromecast. I found an apk for downloader, and sent it via an app called "send files to tv" and that loaded it. 👌🏾
@@nealmcb funny thing is, it comes in on play store for my HD Chromecast, but doesn't for my 4k chromecast. But I found a way around it via loading a downloader apk

Is it normal for the side loaded APK's to not show on the home screen after install?
