You were so friendly and respectful. I see so many techs on RUclips being rude and not communicating to the homeowner...the homeowner is the customer and you obviously get that. And for that I am subscribing. thx
Lol ol’ lady calling at the best time when you’re the busiest ALWAYS happens.. never fails.. lol I feel ya on that for real.. enjoying the video.. keep em coming brother 💯
I have seen back emf from the fan at shutdown cause the compressor to jolt with a loud noise. Requires a normal one pole contactor shutoff versus pulling the disconnect. Typically only on a straight ac. The fan and compressor are unpowered from the contactor but are still parallel to each other. The fan acts like a generator as it winds down sending power to the compressor. If it is the issue, a fix is retrofitting a dual pole contactor with one leg of the fan moved upstream toward the line. When the dual pole contactor then opens, the extra pole separates the fan from the compressor.
Not sure why these Lennox’s always have compressor failures. I had to change both compressors for my upstairs and downstair units. All within 5 years and house was new. Seems within warranty but was such a hassle.
Apparently, previous repair person found that the FAN part of the dual capacitor wasn't working. Maybe they didn't have the proper size DUAL capacitor to replace it, so added the 5 microfarad SINGLE capacitor to fix the fan problem. Next time, when the customer asks, explain that the ORIGINAL DUAL Capacitor does BOTH FUNCTIONS in one: helps to start the fan motor, AND the compressor, all in one unit. The customer seemed pretty wishy-washy about the whole thing, didn't even have the thermostat set properly.
@@bbizzle82 It would be unethical to charge for the part when the existing caps were ok. My guess is his trip charge is considerably less than the pm. They discussed warranty and the fact the warranty would cover a cap, but undiscussed, ethically he would be ripping off the warranty in this case. He did hear the neighbor's vehicle knocking in the background, the most likely source of the complaint.
I learned a lot from your videos I just subscribed this month pls keep narrating your footage it helps me in school and let’s me know what to expect when troubleshooting a unit thanks so much 🙏 also any recommendations apps tools to get for new tech I have about 9 months left in school thanks again
Hey boss i just got my HVAC/R certificate i live in cali i wanna work in industrial field colleges and casinos do you have any advice thx for the vids keep them coming sir
I understand theres nothing wrong with the capacitor and you box it up and sell it to someone else as new. Im sorry but that is chicken sh**. People paid for NEW parts. Some people are fine with buying the old one, like me, id tell you to go ahead and use it, but dont charge me full price. Im literally in the process of gearing up for hvac work bc the ac company i called tried lying to me about my NEW evaporator not being able to handle the new r410 and tried to tell me i needed to replace my entire system! $8,307 was the quote. I called a buddy and he changed my compressor with a used one for $500. Ive been screwed for the last time by these techs! They don't even try to hide it anymore bc they know most people dont have a choice. They can either pay or sit in the heat. All i ask is to let your customers know that you have used parts and they can save a little, but no telling how long it will last. It makes me so mad theres people selling used parts as new. Its probably why he told the guy the new capacitor may not last as long as the old one. Bc he probably just putting an old one that he boxed from a previoua job that he has no idea how old it is. Ill have literally all the tools required by end of month and epa 608 universal cert shortly there after. They left me no choice. All just to do the work on my personal system. P.s. my used compressor was available bc my buddy had gotten it from a company that tells every customer they need a new compressor. The bed of his truck was loaded down with them. Nothing wrong with any of them. They just lied to every customer to get a sale. And then on top of that, sell the used compressors. It is disgusting!!

You don’t need a 5 minute intro
There was no need to sell the capacitor... So why sell it. Just cus its not a dual? I dont understand

btw, that DOG sounded ferocious.
yeah not sure why he put on a new cap. he didn't need it but the homeowner was clueless about everything. lol
@@bbizzle82 Throwing the customer a bone hoping to get the $150 pm. Plus he is keeping the two caps which cost more combined than the single dual run.
@@rj.parker oh ok i didn't know if he charged him to change out the cap or not it wasn't specified to my knowledge.
