OMG Cissnei reveal in today’s REBIRTH TRAILER! 😭
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw cissnei being the leader in gongaga, and they kept her true to her lore as well. She’s such a charismatic character and honestly I hope Zack can end up with her in the final sequel since aerith has gone full god mode.
Nah, let Zack take a page out of Rex’s book.
I just hope that Cissnei doesn't disappear from the narrative and they at least mention her in Rebirth.
Edit: 1 year later. My hopes have been answered.
@Idonteven well Kunsel got namedropped in Remake so I’d say she’s got a chance.
Im hoping when we go there in Rebirth, she gets pissed if she sees cloud have the buster sword on, since she knows there is only one and it belonged to Zack, but at the same time, im hoping we get a story where we play as Zack with his own party and Cissnei is playable to be the substitute for Yuffie since they carry the same type of weapon
@@gozogo1233 I don't think she'll be angry about the Buster Sword, if anything I'm expecting her to be the one who took care of Cloud for a bit before he reached Midgard since he ain't surviving through the Overworld while high on depression and Mako
I feel like Remake is their chance of adding every single character and merging into the main game, of course Cissnei never appeared in the main game since they never made more FF7 projects after Crisis Core. I never thought in a million years to see Weiss and Nero IN the main game with references to Derge of Cerberus, also giving a lot more roles to old characters like Biggs, Wedge and Jessie which I'm very certain they're coming back, and also Johnny was in the main game as an NPC in the original which blew my mind.
@gregwilliams4926 they are definately cashing in on Zack’s popularity.

Cissnei: Shh, I'm not pressing, I'm not demanding, I just want you to know.
In my opinion, this is the best scene in Crisis Core. I appreciate that a lot of things aren't said directly here, just hinted at, but everything is easily understandable.
Zack doesn't realize that four years have passed since the Nibelheim incident; he thinks it's only been a few weeks, so he acts accordingly.
But looking at it from Cissnei's perspective, we know she's been in love with Zack since their trip to Costa del Sol. Then he disappeared, but she still waits and hopes for him. She went on mission to Gongaga so she could at least be with Zack's parents in Gongaga. And now he's reappeared. She must be so happy. But her professionalism prevents her from fully expressing her feelings. She probably thought everything would finally have a happy ending now. Only for Zack to potentially get killed in a few weeks, and she couldn't prevent it. Which led her back to grieving in Gongaga.
Her tragedy is clearly visible without having to be explicitly shown. It's an excellent scene.

I know it's unpopular, but I think these two would make a better couple than him and Aerith. I love their banter, and she clearly cares a lot for him.
Bro you're not alone on that. Crisis Core is my 1st FF7 compilation game and I didn't know Zack at all at that time. I only know Cloud, Aerith and Tifa. Vincent, Barrett, Marlene, basically the ones in Advent Children.
But when I first saw Cissnei I'm like...AYO HOT! Kidding aside yes I prefer her and Zack then Aerith and Zack. The latter is still great and cute but yeah Cissnei and Zack all the way! Also Zack and Tifa too but yeah just a non canon ship again right there.
I don't ship CloTi but it's cute at the same time. Clerith is ok but what I do ship is Cloud x Therapy tho XD

Am i the only one who ships Zack and Cissnei? XD I mean Aerith is good too but me playing Crisis Core back in 2009 made me fall in love with Cissnei.
Also Carrie Savage as Cissnei is great but Kayli Mills voicing her is superb as well. Fits Cissnei too!

I never grew up with Crisis Core and only watched Maximilian Dood's playthrough last year. So I can tell you without a doubt and without any bias of nostalgia that Zack's new VA is terrible.
Funny enough these are some of the better reads he’s had in the game.

@@mondaysman5253 I dont think the sole fault is at the VA considering Zack's VA isnt the one having a problem. If anything i suspected the voice direction for English cast is mishandled badly. Still prefer Rick Gomez tho because his performance as Zack is great

cissnei's real name is never actually mentioned.

shizune: this one actually comes from localizing her given code name "cissnei"
shuriken: i think this is another code name as well
axel: i don't know where this came from, though.
Cissnei was originally from a Japan-only mobile game where the player gets to name her. So they will probably never mention her real name since it's implied to be whatever you named her in that game.
And this contradicts Cissnei's story in Rebirth...which is actually technically a plot hole in Rebirth. I found weird people didn't catch Cissnei's plot hole. There are ways they could explain it latter, but Cissnei in Rebirth is a huge plot hole so far, and if you watched this video and played Rebirth and all sidequests where Cissnei appears, you should've noticed the inconsistency...because, in the timeline of FF7, this scene happens at best 3 months and at worst 6 months before the events in Rebirth where Clound and the party meet Cissnei, yet Cissnei has been living for almost a year in Gongaga and being the captain of the guard, not to mention, that Cissnei was actively searching for Zack when he made his last stand against the Shinra Army and was killed, which happened just mere weeks before the party in Rebirth arrived at Gongaga...so, so far, Cissnei in Rebirth is an oversight at best, a plothole at worst.
They have mentioned that CCR is its separate thing from Rebirth. CCR is a sequel to the original FF7 not FF7R. Which Cissnei was not even in Gongaga in FF7 OG. Thoughts?
@@KuraodoSutoraifu Actually, Crisis Core and Crisis Core Reunion are prequels to FF7OG, the ending of Crisis Core basically makes it even clear the in both cases they are prequels, events that have happened before FF7OG and FF7 Remake

@@KuraodoSutoraifu I don't remember any interview where he mentions this, but as times goes by, they tend to change opinions or translations got better. Still, the point remains, Cissnei is a plot hole, at least regarding Rebirth and Remake, regardless if Crisis Core is part or not of Retrilogy.
